  1. I'm sure it is going to open again as a Next selling furniture etc
  2. will have a majority share of shops we already have Come on you know that's not correct
  3. Went for a bike ride this morning down towards Bartestree. They are laying the new substation cable from Capler Lane to the Texaco garage in Ledbury road with quite a stretch of traffic controlled lights which were on green when I went through them only to be met by a van that had obviously gone through a red light giving me some abuse when I gave him the bottle shake manoeuvre with my hand. Some people have dirty mouths.
  4. We will have this kind of debate with the by-pass if it ever gets built and to be honest with you it bores me to death. I'm amazed no bugger has moaned about the different coloured tarmacs that have been used in Newmarket Street
  5. I'm still a high town bloke myself, spent a bloody fortune on a suite in Moss yesterday though I did look for one on the olm. In the end when all the stores are open we will have a better choice
  6. paperchase jos being advertised,http://www.retailchoice.com/JobSearch/JobDetails.aspx?JobId=59478739 They also have a planning application for signage on the olm. Also Joules are opening a store in July http://www.retailchoice.com/JobSearch/JobDetails.aspx?JobId=59328478
  7. It's just a shame that it was ruined by filling it with shops we already have, expensive parking and bad traffic management Outfit, L'Occitain, Paperchase, Office,Debenhams, River Island, Waitrose,Nando's, Frankie n Bennys, Zizi, Prezzo, Wagamamas, Miller & Carter etc never seen them in Hereford with the exception of River Island who have not been in the City for over four years and in the next three months nine other stores that are not in Hereford.
  8. My father lives close by to an elderly lady who drinks all day and uses her car.She came home one evening last week and was that drunk she crawled to her front door and took 10 mins to get through the door.He rang 101 and they were not interested in the slightest just told him that if he sees her driving the car again to ring them.
  9. Bio the place is packed to the rafters, just come back from there.
  10. I was expecting the traffic to be bad but I must admit traffic flow has vastly improved.I have never seen it this good in a long time, lets hope it stays like this.Had a good look around and ended up in FIT in Widemarsh Street and bought a pair of jeans :-). The pedestrian access is very good too
  11. To be honest I rarely pay to park in Hereford.I park in St Owens St for half hr or go to Tesco's.If the weather is good I'll bike it or walk.
  12. And this quote does not make any sense from the Highways agency as the roundabout used to have no lights on it. The HA could not support turning out the lights even as a trial with the junction design as it is.
  13. There is Cambo it's called a SCOOT system and we have it installed in Hereford but it does not work even though Herefordshire Council pay the highways agency over "20,000 a year for its upkeep
  14. If it was free parking every tom dick n harry would park there leaving no spaces for people who want to shop
  15. Just looked at planning apps for this place.Permission was turned down twice. First refusal. In the absence of a development proposal in accordance with policy HBA6 the proposed demolition of the existing structure is considered contrary to HBA7 o the Herefordshire UDP. Second refusal The proposal involves the formation of a vehicle access onto monkmoor street, owing to the narrowness of the street, inability to turn a vehicle within the site, lack of pedestrian refuge and poor visibility the formation of access here is considered prejudicial to the interest of highway safety.
  16. Work was started when planning app was applied for and had to stop because permission was refused They wanted vehicle access which was considered dangerous and the plans for the extension were out of character with the rest of the street being in a conservation area.Planning has been refused on a number of occasions but was finally given. The restaurant will now become a takeaway with the first floor being converted into two flats and a flat being built on the rear.
  17. They replaced a few of the cast iron road signs by me last year that had been there for near 50 years with those thin metal ones. Not six weeks later one of them had been bent inwards by being kicked.
  18. Colin. If the scoot system on Newmarket roundabout was working the way it should there would be no point in asking for them to be part time. The fact is this bloody system needs sorting out as the Highways agency needs to be told every time it f**ks up. I was also stuck going around the roundabout on Tuesday around 11pm.The scoot system should of changed my light to green as there was no other traffic around. They need switching off all together as they serve no purpose except cause traffic jams
  19. In reply to Rogers post 1. Northbound traffic in the right lane of the bridge trying to get a right turn into St. Nicholas Street would have to take pot luck with the free flowing southbound traffic entering the bridge. Compounded by restricted views caused by cars turning tight into Barton Road. The junction is already a headache for shunts so that would never happen. Probably got the potential for a crash as well for unrestricted right turns into Barton Road. All this needs here is the removal of traffic lights and the installation of a roundabout.
  20. Lets hope we do not have to wait another year or so for a reply
