  1. West Mercia Police are asking people in the Eign Gate, Whitecross Road area of Hereford, to be vigilant after two reports of sexual assaults on Whitecross Road in the early hours of the morning. The first was on Sunday 26 July 2020 at 00:30 when a woman was walking home after a night out with friends. She was approached by a man offering her money before he attempted to assault her. She was able to run to a nearby house and raise the alarm. She described him as white, aged approx. 21 years old, possibly Eastern European, with dark hair and a slim build. He was wearing a hooded top.
  2. Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at Kingstone. Upon arrival they were faced with a double garage with two vehicles well alight and the fire had spread to the roof space of the adjoining house with crews quickly bringing the fire under control using hose reels and BA. Six pumps and a water carrier together with crews from Hereford, Peterchurch, Eardisley and Ewyas Harold fire stations all attended the scene.   3. Light Aircraft Crash Landing Near Kingsland. Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service with crews from Kingsland, Leominster, Hereford fire stations all attended the light aircraft incident, near Shirl Heath, Kingsland. Crews from Droitwich and Malvern stood down en route when the scale of incident was assessed by initial crews. The incident involved light aircraft crash landing on field. One person self rescued prior to arrival, uninjured thankfully. Aircraft has been made safe.
  4. Cyclists on Footpaths! Should cyclists be allowed on footpaths? I ask the question because this morning I was walking along Belmont Avenue and a chap on a bike knocked into me from behind and almost knocked me to the floor as he came speeding past me on along the footpath on his bike. He turned around and shouted sorry pal but to be honest it not only startled me but I will probably have a bruise on my arm. I could have easily lost my balance and fallen into the road.   5. Breaking News: Hostage Situation. We have received 'unconfirmed' reports that a man is holding a male and a female hostage at a property in Poole Close. Armed police are at the scene and this has been an ongoing situation since about 3am. There is also now a fire appliance and crew on site. Police and Balfour Beatty have cordoned off Belmont Road (A465) between Walnut Tree Avenue and Asda and motorists are being diverted to the Ross Road (A49) There is no risk to the wider public.   6. A car has somehow landed up crashing into the front entrance doors of The Range store in Three Elms Hereford. Emergency services have been called to the scene

  8. Fire gutted a park home this evening. Four fire appliances and two ambulances were on scene the fire was close to setting alight other park homes.
  9. A man has died after falling from bridge along the Great Western Way Hereford. Inspector Mark Peters of West Mercia Police said: Police are conducting enquiries at the scene and the coroner has been notified. The police cordon has now been removed.

  12. A large police presence has been gathering this evening along the riverbanks. The river is being searched and the helicopter has provided assistance. This could be in relation to the search for the two missing people. A body has been recovered from the river. It is believed to be that of Ashley George who went missing on Thursday.
  13. Multi emergency services called out to reports of a vehicle in river Dore next to B4347 near Pontrilas. Emergency crews from West Mercia Police, firefighters from Ewyas Harold, Hereford, Ross, and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene. No persons were found in the vehicle. The driver was later located at home safe and well by West Mercia Police and it turns out that the driver had not reported the accident, which had happened overnight...
  14. A woman in her 50's was found dead in a house on Highmore Street last night with the death being treated as suspicious. A man known to the woman was in collision with a minibus on Roman Road last night,Police are searching the area this morning and is still underway.
  15. The A49 is closed - diversions at Hereford at the Starting Gate roundabout, and at Leominster at the Bodenham junction A417. This is due to a serious RTC between a 4x4 and a motorbike on Dinmore Hill. People are being diverted down to Bodenham from the A49. All emergency vehicles and responders are on the scene, please avoid if at all possible, long delays are expected.

Investigation launched following sexual assault in Hereford Officers in Hereford have launched an investigation after a female was sexually assaulted by an unknown man in the Moor Farm area at around 8pm on Friday (13 October). The victim was walking along the footpath on Hurdman Walk when she was attacked by a man described as being of stocky build, aged in his late 20s to early 30s and wearing a dark hoody and dark trousers.   18. A man has died following a horrific fatal accident at around 10 pm tonight on the A49 Hereford to Ross Road just passed the Axe and Cleaver. A vehicle collided into the side of a tractor and trailer that was carrying bales of hay and coming out of a field, the hay subsequently caught fire, which is all that you can see in this photo. Belmont Road works postponed until 3 August National Grid statement We would like to advise motorists that the planned gas mains replacement work on Belmont Road in Hereford has been postponed for two weeks. The work will now start on Monday, 3 August and is expected to take four weeks to complete.   25. A police car chase ended with a car going over an embankment just off B&Q slip road tonight. Being chased down Burcott Road the pursued car went flying over the old railway hump in Burcott Road hitting the oil sump when landing spraying oil all over the road.Another car was seen to have n=been stopped by police near the Texaco Garage.
