  1. Hello chris I admire you because you are one of the very few cllr's who's willing to engage with us bloggers which I applude & I believe you are one of the good guys I also believe you will always try to do the right thing & defend those who need defending!! But having said that please do not go outing any bloggers on here who wish to remain anoymous? as they do so for good reason in that they work for the council or other government services & we need those who are willing to speak out & let the general public know wot is going!! but because there is a fear culture that runs through local authorities in that if anyone speaks out about wrong doing & corruption then they run the risk of losing there job, this is wrong & until such time that this is ended & that fear is eradicated then there identities most remain anonymous!! I will not tolerant bulling in any shape or form & I will defend those who are @ risk because they dare to speak out!! If this means I have to confront those doing the bullying face to face in public then I will do so!! I do not believe thou for one minute that you are a bully personally but because your back is causing you so much pain it is clouding your judgement on allowing people to remain anoymous?!
  2. Maybe a email to Theresa may to informer her of the situation & that the fire service are about to waste millions on a new station for themselves when they should be looking to combine services & site with the other emergency services especially as the police need a new home to!
  3. has anyone read through CgMs heritage report?where they try & justify demolishing the old boys home?! I have read through it & to be honest I'm not impressed but then again you wouldn't pay someone a load of money then expect then to write unfavourable report to get it through the planning?! I also think they've been fairly economical with the truth particularly concerning the public consultation day?! Plus they have tried to play down the importance of local history in fact they've not mention the venerable rev john venn or his connection with the old boys home or his connection to other building which run down bath street!! As far as the materials they want to use to build said new fire station in, well, they don't match anything in the area apart from the bricks. the appearance of the place is hideous, there is so much powder coated metal tin sheets which they are planning on using?! it's the type of thing you'd expect to find on a industrial estate & not in a conservation area?! The roof doesn't match anything in the area it's a half round, powder coat metal tin sheet roof with solar panels?? Also the sills & window linings are powder coated metal tin sheets too. in all very cheap & tacky looking in my opinion not to mention it's going to look well out of place!!!
  4. I'm in hr1 to & so far got power!! I suppose know you've got the candles all lit roger your be getting all romantic with the mrs?!
  5. Is that right between £3 to £5million excluding vat??!! Man & they can't even afford to cut the grass, or staff children's & adult services properly! the government are getting it all wrong how can they make cuts in one much needed area than spend millions in another none essential one????? It don't make sense yet they'd have us all believe there saving money or thou isn't the deficit up?
  6. Why are we so blessed with Morons in our parliament who say one thing then do the exact opposite? But then I guess they've always done that? But it's also that TTIP trade agreement between the USA & EU which is worrying to!!! http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/british-sovereignty-at-risk-from-euus-trade-deal-uk-in-danger-of-surrendering-judicial-independence-to-multinational-corporations-warn-activists-9057318.html
  7. Thanks TWG for clarifying CgMs involvement on this cannot be that recent as they have stated that the building next to the old boys home which used to be the old job centre was being used by the art college?
  8. Chris I don't think it's going to go away that easily? But thank you for informing us of wot you've managed to find out. But I would like to make a suggestion if in future there are any whispers as you call them & they are of a serious nature I think that cllr's have a duty to investigate to find out if there is any truth in whispers which maybe of a serious nature?! As thing like this should never be allowed to happen otherwise we could end up with a situation like they have in Rotherham? Mr Cardin we don't know each other but I admire your will to seek the truth & to not give up so I'd like to say although I am no lawyer either I do hope that you do appeal the decision?!
  9. So it's in! I'd like to ask a question on the the planning application number 24 hazardous waste is any hazardous waste involved in the proposal. would this include any that was in the demolition work?
  10. Why all the fuss & drama about a couple of people who fancied a midnight canoeing session surly that is not a crime?…unless of course they were up to no good?
  11. Hello glenda do you know why it's going on the market instead of the new uni having it as I thought that the council had originally offered it to them?
  12. Fair point AV although some of the question noted down here could apply to any of the others members on the panel? So maybe we should list a number of question down that we would like answers to,then decided to whom we would like each question to go to? Although I'm sure that they will all have a turn @ responding regardless of who the questions are put to first? It's just that we've got the knives out for tony biscuit head Johnson…I wouldn't want to eat him though as it would only leave a bad taste in my mouth!!!
  13. That's my understanding too dippy!!!…wots going on as regards brockington that was first offered to the new uni so have they decided which buildings they want? & brockington towers is not one of them??
  14. Chris whereabouts on the new link road do you think the emergency services should all be located? As one of the reasons the fire service said why they couldn't relocate there was because there was a one in hundred yr flood risk? Althought they say the life span for a fire station is 30yrs?
  15. Thanks ubique for posting this. accommodation strategy so they spent £6 million on doing up the shire hall & plough lane & hope to save £350,000 a year with the closure of bath street, brockington & blackfriars but say this won't be fully realised until they have sold bath street & brockington? My understanding is they are swapping bath street for the fire station & brockington was offered to the new university but now there saying there going to put brockington on the market & any expression of interest from potential buyers should contact Connell estate agents in Bristol? When brockington was offered to the new university it was valued @ £800,000 I believe & the fire station which was also offered to the University for I think £500,000?
  16. Dippy those are excellent questions too I think if everyone starts chipping in with there own questions for tony as well? Then there maybe no need for anyone else to be on the panel?
  17. Ha ha that's ok flam I'm glad you've started this thread so no worries!!
  18. Because it should not be left like that it's a disgrace!! unless it's rebuilt obviously no one is going to want to use it but when it is then I'm sure they will get some tenants in? personally I'd rather see it rebuilt & empty to the state it is currently in!!
  19. Thank you flam I like yours too maybe dippy can have a word with Colin? I'm sure others will have some juicy questions of there own for our leader to? So come on folks get your questions in!!!
  20. Good questions I can see leader Johnson get all hot & bothered under the collar trying to answer those?! I'd like to ask does he think local authorities get good value for money by using private companies to perform services which used to be done in house when private companies main priorities is to make money first over & above the services there supposed to be delivering on? why is it when they fail to deliver on those services that they are responsible for we the taxpayers have to pick up the tab & some lucky person walks off with some sort of pay off? Also why does building work for local authorities & I include the police fire services & nhs in this cost a lot more than if the client was private?
  21. I think I might apply? yes I think I'll send my cv in for this job I believe I've got a great chance of getting it? £50k a year Cor blimey governor happy days there probably chuck in a car a pension & holiday pay as well? Even though I haven't got a clue wot the job is or about for £50k a year I'll give it a go wot's the worst that could happen? I get suspend have to sign a gagging order & receive a lovely big golden handshake to match my loss of earnings??!! Yep a bloody chancier will get this job more than likely some idiot who's already been kicked out of some other local authorities in the country for being in-competed??…come on all aboard the gravy train now!!!
  22. Oh blessed is he who is bobby47 the guardian of the holy keyboard may he continue to bless us all with his words of wisdom & cods wallop!! Amen
