  1. He also claimed the most expensive of any of the Hereford councillors on the authority £6,931.23
  2. This is my objection which I will be submitting to planning The proposed design for fire station on Bath street. This building should not be allowed to be built on bath street on the site of the old working boys school with that building being demolished. because it goes against the grain of the conservation area. the material that will be used to create wot I can only describe as that resembling a industrial building with lots of plastic coated metal sheeting being used! The roof of the brick structure part is a half round design with a plastic coated metal tin sheet covering! It's design is not the same as any other building which is set within the central conservation area. so I feel its look & appearance will not enhance the conservation area but only diminish it!! The training tower which is constructed as a steel frame is three stories high will overlook neighbouring gardens & homes gives a feeling of being intrusive also it's construction, use of materials & appearance is not within keeping of the conservation area. The road is a serious issue @ that point. as it is rather narrow often congested & I feel unsuited for the big fire appliances which will be entering & exiting the site on a daily basis. It is also partially unsighted from traffic coming from the junction on St Owen street into bath street & for traffic entering bath street from symonds street. There is also a busy car park opposite. The loss of the mature pine trees is not good either as this will also affect the enhancement of the conservation area! I'd like to add if I came & applied to demolish a building which was structurally sound, set within a designated conservation area,so as I could build a industrial unit, then this simply would not be allowed!!! & quite rightly so!! http://tinyurl.com/n25s7ub Planning application details - Herefordshire Council We have placed cookies on your computer to improve your experience. 3. I'll drink to that flam if it happens?…which I hope it does!
  4. I'm sure when HWFRS had there consultation day they said that they would not be using central avenue to gain access to & from site? But reading through Cgms document I saw this. In order to satisfy the Fire Service's requirements, there will be a secondary access at the rear of the site, which will be used on an infrequent basis. This access point will be secured with gates and will not be open at all times.
  5. I think they are going to need them, when all hell breaks loose on this? I meet cllr Vaughan-Powell tonight she's a nice lady & a really good person too I think!
  6. Tories closing ranks! I did give tony Johnson one of my flyers tonight & told him I was against it & that 500 had so far be distributed in the area. He tried to tell me that the fire service, had chosen bath street? I replied that the 2010 feasibility report had suggest two sites & not one of those was on bath street!!
  7. Bobby you didn't humiliate yourself far from it. As the guy who was the chair came up to me & megilleland afterwards & he was very apologetic for not being able to take the question but said it should deffo be asked @ the next full council meeting!! Anyway I think you deserve a bloody medal!! Ps enjoyed the pint thou
  8. This is the email I sent to Jessie Norman Hello Jessie Norman MP I am writing to you today about the proposed demolition of the former working boys home on bath street in Hereford so a new fire station can be built. I am against this proposal as we the people of Hereford will lose a part of our heritage & landscape. The building itself is structurally sound it also stands in a conservation area. The propose new fire station will not enhance the area but I believe it will diminish the look & appearance of the area, as wot is propose is nothing short of an industrial shed!! Hereford council have failed to find in ten years a suitable site for HWFRS to relocate. In 2010 HWFRS had a feasibility report compiled where two sites were identified neither of these sites were on bath street?! I'd also like to draw your attention to wot the Home Secretary Theresa May said this last week that the emergency services should join together in using the same resource to save cost. If the current proposal is allowed to go head I believe it would not save money but end up being a costly mistake for the tax payers. It would also appear that West Mercia police in Hereford are in need of new premise? would it not make more sense for the two to be located on the same site? As they are both looking for a new homes?
  9. Thank you ubique hopefully we can get lots of people who will be putting in there objections to this?!
  10. I have now distributed 500 flyers through letter boxes in the central ward area with a little help from friends but will be getting more printed!!!
  11. Glenda your spot on hope other cllr's take note of wot you are saying? as you make a lot of sense & you've also answer cllr Kenyon's question on a alternative usage for the building? which has got to be better than losing a part of Hereford city's landscape & heritage!!!! So Let's not lose a part of hereford's landscape & heritage to a industrial shed
  12. Well done megilleland that is a first rate email & it's interesting to read there replies,so looking forward to reading the others when they come in!
  13. Spoke with the planning officer Edward Thomas & he is expecting a high level of objections to the fire service planning application…so I think we should not disappoint him & get lots of objections in?! after all if joe public wanted to build industrial unit in a conservation area it would not be allowed to happen so why should it be any different for the fire service?
  14. I was looking @ some police officers yesterday there starting to resemble a paramilitary force with the way they are dressed…they just need to all be given a gun & the job will be done?!
  15. Megilleland that's a super post & your dead right the fire station design does not fit in @ all…the design belongs on a industrial site & not in a conservation area!!!!!!
  16. So not long now till Question time with……… tony Johnson,Liz Hurds,Liz morawiecka & Antony Powers!!!! I think this is a good opportunity for anyone who would like to ask some question but would rather remain anonymous although still be able to ask the panel some questions? But that's only if Colin is agreeable & of course if it is possible to choose some questions to put forward on behalf of Hereford voice bloggers??…Then that would be beautiful!!!
  17. I've had 400 flyers printed which I'm going to distribute in the central ward! The grid knocker who is in Spain scribbling away kindly put the words together!!!
  18. Fair one Denise but he may still have a opinion on it thou?
  19. I sent Jessie Norman a email had reply from Andrew Atkinson a case work for him to say they'd received my email. So hopefully we will get Jessie's views soon?
  20. I agree with you dippy on all points as it is in a conservation area after all! So we do not want it looking like a industrial estate!!! So just because it is the fire service that want to build it then that shouldn't give them the right to just build wot they want, without regard for the enhancement of the area. Or the demolish of a perfectly sound structure that is not in such a state of disrepair as to cause a danger to the public. so this does not warrant it's destruction. Not to mention the loss of some of Herefords heritage & landscape. Also it is used as a nesting site for swifts which are a endangered specie!!
  21. Yea it's a bit of a dilemma mr Cardin although none of the victims have come forward as yet? But how would it work if a victim did decide to come forward to you? Would they be able to keep there identities anonymous? Obviously they would have important information for you to use concerning this particular matter? But as we know the fear factor that operates in local authorities will prevent them from coming forward but if they knew that there identities would not be reveal then they maybe willing to come forward?
