  1. Karen usher is From the USA & she now lives in dorestone I dare say she has some good connections in the US? & personally i wish her the best of luck & hopefully she can turn it into a reality as I think a university is a good idea if it happens?
  2. Received email from Victorian society today Hi Michael Just to let you know that I have contacted the council and they say they expect an application imminently and will consult us when it arrives. I have passed all the information to my colleague James Hughes, as Hereford is in his area so the consultation will go to him. Best wishes Kathy
  3. Just got this through post from agents for butter market
  4. Was stuck in traffic down New market street two weeks ago & noticed the sign for New market st was missing the N? Still like it now? So have they renamed it ew market street?
  5. Biomech there upset because of the lies, deceit underhandedness & the broken promises sound familiar? & for some there football club is there life & therefore they get very emotional about things like this! just like you or I, over the running of this city & county or another person who has burnt there toast in the morning might get upset??Although you might not realise it I think you have more in common with HUFC fans than you realise apart from the fact you don't like football!!
  6. It has a great view coming down that road!Fair one Denise but @ the end of day it's still tax payers money & it's not a good job they've done as I don't believe the new surface is going to stand the test of time there just papering over the cranks in a expensive way?! All it appears that they've done is sprayed a thin layer of tar down & chucked a layer of chippings on top?
  7. Dippy I luv the idea of a guerrilla grass cutters front a group of balaclava clad men & women armed with strimmers & mowers attacking those overgrown verges with gusto then dumping cuttings all over brockington towers!! Happy days! but I feel I must warn you that if such a group could exist or ever exist? Then these brave band of desperado grass cutters whoever they are or could be?? would be hunted down one by one from a vengeful & unforgiving council & be made a example of? & as I'd pit any poor fool who was caught & dragged off to brockington towers for interrogation as we all know that who ever enters that place never leaves as the same person who entered?…something very strange happens to them??!!!…It has my full backing a kind of forlorn hope but a necessary sacrifice all the same…now do we have any willing volunteers out there??…oh anyone wishing to volunteer we are giving away a free balaclava!!…but I'm afraid they will have to supply own strimmer or mower also would they mind terrible if they brought there own petrol?
  8. Just to backup wot twowheels was saying about the resurfacing on the roads was driving up over stockley hill earlier & noticed the road has been relaid but I also noticed not very well as from second pic your see its a very thin layer from where the Tarmac has come away either that or they have missed a bit?
  9. I wonder how that went? I think I'll ring cllr Lloyd- Hayes later & ask! On another note bumped into cllr mark Hubbard earlier he informed me that he is not allowed to vote on the decision as he is the cllr for the ward although he is allowed to speak for as long as possible. The other thing now maybe we could do is to start lobbying other cllr on the committee to objections for planning?
  10. Direct action is wot is need the best weapon people have is not to pay your council tax if enough people had the balls to stand together as a political statement? then I believe central government would then have no choice but to take notice? The thing is are there enough people who'd be willing to do so? with the possible risk of prison? Like bobby I would things will never change unless your willing to make a sacrifice & by not paying our council tax we would be taking direct action by peaceful protest I might add!!!
  11. Thought I'd post this PROPAGANDA pic of Jesse & Paul doing there bit?! I have to say that Jesse doesn't look like he's ever done any mowing before??
  12. It's worrying alright I really think central government have lost the plot with these plans it's also eroding away @ democracy as we know it our voices are barely heard now but will count for nothing in times to come I fear? I'm getting to the point where I don't care for there rules & don't want to play there game anymore of give us all your money & in return we will give you nothing but poor services & PFI where private companies get rich off the tax payer & while they feast @ the table of greed the poor the sick the needy those who's daily existence is a struggle are forsaken by the state of we don't care for you the undesirables as there is no room for you in our utopia!!!!
  13. Yep that's right it's a different place he does have other properties too, clearwell castle is used as a wedding venue. I also noticed that the grass has been left to grow in clearwell & coleford so maybe they've got the same going on in Gloucestershire?
  14. Oh & he does have some minions to do them dippy as I saw 2 working on one of the flower beds if you look @ first pic there just to the right of the land rover!
  15. They are ain't they dippy somewhere nice for Harry to escape from the riggers of daily council life while no doubt sipping on the champagne he produces?
  16. Well I think that bramer & co should foot the bill from there own money as they've managed to spend all the budget on non essential services? As it happens I was in clearwell doing some work on the church which is next to clearwell castle, take a look @ Harry's lawns
  17. This saga has the makings of a Shakespearian tragedy!!
  18. & as for bramer he maybe rich but he's also soulless & as for wot he has to say it's just a total load of boloney as far as I'm concerned saying wot would anyone of done differently well how about not wasting the money in the first place on idiotic ideas?! He's just a conceited patronising little twerp who'd sell his own grandmother for a pound given half the chance? But hopefully his time is almost run?
  19. It's laughable it really is central government are clueless to wots really going on @ ground level when private firms are making a mint out of taxes payers how any government can think its a good idea for any local government to get into bed with a private firm to deliver services that are essential to everyone is beyond me???!!!!…do they not realise private firms are in it to purely make a profit they don't care about people just there share holders & there bonus package???!!!!
  20. I was on Facebook earlier & smartieno had sent bramer a emails asking about the grass cutting & wot the council tax was spent on etc. bramer sent him a response I'm sure smartieno won't mind if I post it for him? & see wot you folks think of wot he has to say? from Councilllor Bramer: Than you Mr S I doubt if your views are for changing but I attach a recent letter that was sent to the Hereford Times for your perusal WHAT DO WE GET FOR OUR COUNCIL TAX? The question was posed by the author of the opinion column (Hereford Times 22.05/14) and deserves an answer. Before becoming a Councillor I would have asked the same question. The following is not a comprehensive list but will give readers at least some idea of what pays for what. Firstly, a reminder that our priorities from public consultation are; Care for the vulnerable and children Economic growth for prosperity and jobs. Annual running costs (approx.) are Adult care and wellbeing £70m Childrens services £43m Transport subsidies £5m Rubbish collection and disposal £14m Road maintenance £10m Total cost of these six items £142m Income from Council Tax is just £81m Readers will note that Council Tax contributes barely 72% of the cost of Adult and Child care costs. So we would have to raise Council Tax by around 40% if it alone was to meet the total cost of care! Just one child in full time care costs approx. £200k pa. A ‘band D’ house pays £1,250 pa Council Tax so we need 160 band D houses paying CT to cover the cost of one such child. I have not even mentioned items such as street cleaning, street lighting, flood defences, staff wages, libraries, property maintenance, loan repayments, inflation etc etc. but hopefully readers are getting the picture. We get income from Council Tax, business rates, charges (car parking, funerals etc) and significantly – Government Grants. It is the last item which is being and will continue to be drastically cut. The difference between falling income and rising costs over 6 years to 2017 is approx. £65m. per year. That is why we have had to make cuts. That is why we now cut the grass 3 times instead of 7. (it saves £670k) That is why the whole Council approved the budget last year. Annual costs have been reduced by £35m so far. Another £30m has to be found over the next 2/3 years. Readers (and the Hereford Times) quite rightly ask “what do we get for our Council Tax Hopefully these figures help to provide an answer. The year just finished was the most difficult in the history of this Council and we did it within budget. Readers know they cannot spend more than their income and neither can the Council. But in the same year we have attracted £90m of private investment in the new retail centre, seen huge development in the Enterprise Zone, laid plans for new roads and houses and begun discussions for a new university. Readers will remember that when we offered Cabinet places and responsibility to other political groups, those groups refused them, preferring not to be associated with difficult decisions but to criticise from the sidelines. So the next time a responsibility shirker tells you how much better they could do the job, two good questions might be – “why didn’t you take the chance when offered and “what, exactly, would you have done differently This Conservative administration demonstrates a commitment to protect the vulnerable, responsible financial management of your taxes, a willingness and ability to deal with difficulties and a vision for the future. Thanks Councillor H Bramer
  21. & a roll up in the other!!!
  22. Dippy I can't believe the king is dead, long live the king!!!…I expect he's with the other king (that's elvis) working in that chip shop down the road?… Thinking about it now I'm sure I saw Bobby in there tonight as I walked by? I swear the guy looked like Bobby?who appeared to be trying to write something on a piece of paper, I'm not 100% but I'm sure it said HELP I'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED BY ELVIS!!!…But I only caught a glimpse!!!
  23. Wot bobby's gone???…Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
  24. Oh it will come in on budget! if it can't go over budget? It will deffo come in on budget to the very last penny!! So does the council own plough lane now? or does it still belong to Heineken?
  25. So another question I have is who can object to planning for the purposed fire station & demolition of the old boys home? Anyone or just people who live in the central ward?
