  1. LUXURY ACCOMODATION TO GIVE A WELCOME BOOST TO LOCAL ECONOMY “Next to agriculture, tourism is one of the biggest revenue generators for the county.” Says local businessman Luke Conod. “Hotels, guest houses, B&Bs, bars, pubs, restaurants, shops and attractions all rely on visitors to the area spending money with their businesses.” Luke and business partner Byron Campbell are doing their bit to encourage visitors back to the county having invested heavily in a major refurbishment of the Swan Inn at Letton. The doors of the 17th Century coaching inn are to re-open imminen

The collision resulted in the closure of Church Street, which then remained closed for several hours. If you witnessed the incident, have dashcam footage or have any information that can help officers with their enquiries, please contact the officer in the case, PC Lee Palmer on 07970864

  5. Competition: We think it's about time that we gave our Hereford Bull Statue a name! 🐃 So come on folks, start suggesting names for him and next weekend we will compile a short list of all the favourite names listed below. 👇 So if you like one of the names suggested by someone please 'REPEAT' that name in your comment below. 👇 Once we have a short list of names, we will run a poll on our website for a week and finally come up with a winning name! (all unofficially of course, but if it's good enough maybe we can persuade the Council to make it official! Who knows) We wi
  6. Exclusive Breaking News: We rang Cllr Harrington this afternoon to get an update on the Emergency Active Travel Measures and to ask him if there were any changes in the pipeline. He said that following on meeting with City and County Cllrs that was agreed at Full Council and after feedback from the BiD, businesses and taxi drivers he made the following changes last week. These orders were agreed last week but take 8 days to make and will take effect from this Saturday. 🔹The Old Bridge will be open northbound from Saturday to licensed Hackney Carriages like it is for buses bec
  7. Traffic Lights: We have campaigned for many years to 'trial' turning off some of the traffic lights in Hereford. The main problem we have witnessed is the Asda junction where the A465 Belmont Road meets the A49 Ross Road. As we have always said, when these lights are out of action and you will of heard our slogan many times - 'THE TRAFFIC JUST FLOWS' when the lights are out however, while we wait in anticipation for a possible trial, they could at least change some of the traffic lights to 'Part-Time' between say 7pm-7am, similar to those that have been successful for years in Gloucester.

  10. We are absolutely thrilled and excited to announce today that we have joined teams and created a new partnership with our brilliant friends over at Old Hereford Pics. The original Old Hereford Pics was established by local Herefordian, Chris Adcocks way back in 2008. The aim of their websites was to give a different look at Old Hereford with new and old pictures of its people, its buildings, its businesses and events from over the years and in Chris's words to offer After much deliberation Chris announced that due to family commitments and not having the hours to keep up w
  11. Can no one at Balfour Beatty and our councillors see the state of our urban roads in the city which are now getting out of hand. When the use of a garden hoe along the kerb would have removed most weeds we are now in a position that the weeds are so established that the only way to treat them would be with herbicides which in turn cause pollution. So the only answer appears to be is do nothing and our streets on our estates take on the appearance of an outback town - the only thing missing is tumbleweed. Together with the inability to get on top of the litter and fly tipping problems and block
  12. Okay so we have shopped around and taken extracts from various money saving advice websites and below we have listed IDENTICAL cold and flu medicines which cost a third of the price. Most of us probably know that big-brand medicines often contain the same active ingredients as cheaper brands. But what if big-brand medicines were completely identical to the supermarket versions? Paying for the name and nice box! You can save up to 70% or more on IDENTICAL drugs by buying them in a different packet. In some cases 'own-brand' products of leading pharmacies Boots and Lloyds cost MOR

  15. No doubt many of you know of him, with many a story to share. Known by many for trading as City Spares 'scrapyard' down Watery Lane. It has came to my attention tonight, that he has passed away. No further information at present. Sympathy with his family and friends at this tough time.
  16. I have been a member here for a long time and I think it only right that we give credit where credit is due. As a collective HV and the members here have achieved many good things over the years and I think we should start to list them in recognition of all the hard work put it. Please forgive me because I can only think of a few that stand out, notably the hot food campaign and the cctv on the gww. Then there was the grass cutting petition and the working boys home and off course the keep clear road making on the Belmont roundabout. Let's all start listing these results. Successful

  18. Hi guy's Just to give you the heads up. You may have noticed a reduced amount of new topics from me recently. I was on holiday from the 9th - 16th, we were back for just a day before I was admitted to hospital for over a week. After various scans etc they found a rather large gallstone 15-16mm. I was in severe pain and had a bad infection with a lot of abdominal swelling. The good news is that I am now recovering at home waiting for my operation scheduled for week commencing the 15th to remove my gallbladder. I am feeling a lot better than I was a week or so ago, so you wi
