  1. Cloudberry - all good points and I agree that it is not clear if the park and ride option was considered. I was not so much put off by the idea but by the subsidy that was suggested. Spend money subsidising a rail link or put it into adult social care? I also noted that extending the existing services down to Rotherwas could have a knock on impact on the Hereford to Birmingham service timetable and we know how fragile that is. As to freight I have argued for years that Cargill and Sun Valley should use the rail link that runs directly into their sites. What a difference taking the lorries from these factories off the roads would make? I have also argued that the remaining old freight area at Barrs Court (now the Railtrack yard) should be retained for freight. Also there is Moreton Park which has an operational rail head for businesses that need that.
  2. I am very much in favour of rail but having read the reports conclusions it does not seem to be value for money needing a subsidy of around £100,000 per year. Sadly there is not that money about
  3. The previous one in King Street closed mainly because it was run by Visit Herefordshire
  4. I am of the opinion that the land would be best used for housing(flats) as originally envisaged. After all it is brownfield land.
  5. That's me self banned from the Beer in Hand then!!!
  6. I'm intrigued by the inclusion of balconies. I suppose it will be pleasant for the occupants to sit outside and gaze across 6 lanes of (usually) stationary traffic whilst choking to death on exhaust fumes
  7. Application number P153044/F (still not able enough to link!!!) The application form does not have them as owners - it lists 8 who are.
  8. There is a current planning application on their old place for Philip Morris to use it.
  9. I was along there earlier and yes the leaves have made the surface a bit tricky particularly by the Barton Road bridge. You just have to be a bit careful. Phew - dodging wet leaves as well as loose dogs, dogs on extender leads, wayward children, wobbly adults and people on their phone - it is like cycling on an obstacle course
  10. What about doing a proper job and cleaning the posts as well! Seriously Colin - well done
  11. I understand there was also a problem with the level crossing in Worcester
  12. Planning Application is P151072/F It seems there is no resolution to the issue with the Highways England as yet
  13. The sign says "access only" and does not specify any limitations. So if I want to go from Broad Street to Cantilupe Street, Castle Street, Mill Street or even St Owens's Street is using East Street for access illegal?
  14. Rats scared of us humans - don't make me laugh! What are the Council or even less the Police meant to do? Put up a few signs saying don't feed the rats? Even if that worked the rats probably would not leave or even if they did they would probably forage a bit more at the nearby houses. Signs saying don't feed the pigeons in High Town did not work. Perhaps the Council could pay for a cull. Well even if they culled every rat for 10 miles they would still return in the future. Yes vermin such as rats, foxes, pigeons and gulls do need controlling but let's get a bit of perspective. Of course if your only agenda is to have another go at the local councillor then..........
  15. The initial closure is 12 weeks from 11 September
  16. Fantastic. I am now going to set my alarm for 2.30am so I can get out of bed and wander down the street for some chips
  17. You can read the answers on the Council's website, but it does not include any supplementary questions Usual questions from the usual suspects. The main debate will obviously be at Planning Committee not at Council
  18. Getting rid of service managers and assistant directors may well help service delivery!
  19. Colin I think this thread, as it is now moving off topic, has run its course Perhaps you should close it, get on with your investigations and whenever they are completed let us know the outcome and any changes in the forum rules?
  20. Perhaps this explains some of my posts. I often see my user name and say to myself - did I actually write that? Now I can be sure it was someone else using my username!! Colin - could you arrange for a filter so that if I have had Stowfords Press I cannot post. If you want to see the carnage multiple user names etc. can cause have a look at HFC's forum
  21. The frontage is laughable. They have put in new shopfronts but the one in the left hand building has a door that you cannot get through and with a hole for a pipe cut into it.
  22. Have just been along there. I know the emphasis is on the south side of the river but the section between Barton Road Bridge, past the old BT building really could do with some clearing out. Even on a sunny afternoon it is dark.
  23. Good work. It is the gloomy section between the Hunderton Bridge and Sainsbury's that needs opening up in my view Whatever will all the tree huggers in IOC say
