  6. The Hereford May Fair has taken place for over 900 years! The first weekend of May is when we usually see all the showman's vehicles pulling up into Hereford. Hereford’s Mayfair has been with us since the 12th Century and it was originally known as St Ethelbert’s Fair and started back in 1121 and a street fair has been held in the city ever since. The Edgar Street event was originally due to take place in May and has now been postponed due to the continued Covid-19 pandemic.   11. ‘Hereford Free Week’ to celebrate Beryl Bikes success In just the first month after launching its hybrid bike share scheme in the cathedral city, Beryl’s distinctive green bikes have been cycled well over 8,000km in Hereford. To celebrate this success, Beryl and Herefordshire Council are bringing riders a free week of trips across the city. Hereford duck Pond Day - Sunday 7th October 9am-3pm We will continue to paint the remainder of the metal fence, put up two new signs and generally clean up the surrounding area to include weeding and clearing over grown bushes etc. Please bring garden tools and garden bags etc like last time. We will try and arrange refreshments again, I am sure that Castle House Hereford will help out, they have always been excellent.
