  1. It will be a shame to see the club disappear but over the years they have always played rubbish and even when they get a decent player they sell him! They will never do well unless someone invests a lot of money and nobody locally is going to do that, so I think while I admire your passion its inevitable that the end is nigh...
  2. I have just read this fascinating article, have a read it's a little spooky. Inside the haunted cottage with tragic past which has been left to rot with more than 300 years of valuables...clothes, pictures, clocks all left untouched Last owner of Old Crow Cottage, in Willersley, Herefordshire, was tragically killed last year David Edward Penny, 72, died in a car crash on the road outside the house in October, 2013 Locals claim to have seen lights flickering inside the cottage, leading to rumours that the cottage is haunted The Grade II-listed cottage was built in the 17th century and had been a village pub The haunting signs of lives once lived still echo from every room in this long-abandoned ramshackle ruin. Old Crow Cottage, a Grade II listed building, now stands eerily abandoned since 2009 - the clothes, pictures and other remnants from former inhabitants are untouched and lying under a thick layer of dust. New photographs from inside the dilapidated cottage, in Willersley, Herefordshire, reveal the eerie atmosphere within the building which would once have been a family home. Over the last few years, locals have even reported to have seen lights flickering inside the cottage, leading to rumours that the cottage might be haunted. The last occupant was killed in a car crash on the road outside the home. Urban explorer Dan Circa ventured inside after reading about its history online. Dan, 28, from Manchester says: 'The cottage has been in the same family for many years and it looks like each generation has filled the house with their possessions.' Read More: HERE
  3. What is he incentive to stay in the city centre Councillor? Nowhere to park for customers (unless you have a blue badge), Traffic wardens itching to book you if you are 2 mins late back to your car. Scaffolding eyesore in the city centre with no change expected soon. High business rates shell I go on?
  4. Not quite Hereford but believe it or not but Horatio Nelson was from Monmouth there is a good listing here. Frank Oz like Biomech has already mentioned and Sean Hince for Visual Effects is also from Hereford and David Garrick, now on the plate pictures above it says he was born in 1716 yet on IMDB here it states 1717? Richard Hammond (Top Gear) lives in Weston under Penyard (Ross on Wye). Andy Mcnab (Author and former SAS soldier).
  5. Regardless of the size of pets at home, I agree with Colin, I would not be happy if I were them, they could easily wipe the smile off the landlords face if they decided to move out then the shop on the right will be empty for ages, depends on how you look at it but it seems a little short sighted to me.
  6. Some really good shots of the floods.
  7. Welcome to the club Gareth, I like the idea of making a documentary. Good luck and if I can help please let me know.
  8. Thanks Colin just registered and ordered my card, not very often you get something for nothing.
  9. So please can someone explain this to me again? I am confused here. Would I be correct thinking that the fire station want to move a few yards around the corner into the former births, marriages and deaths registry offices in Bath St? Then they will turn the current fire station into yet another car park? Could they not modernise the current fire station and build apartments on the other site in Bath St? We need more accommodation not more car parks!
  10. I endorse what Adrian has said. They make it sound like Hereford is the only city that has problems with late night revellers, come on, all cities have problems at the weekends, no wonder Hereford folk choose to go to places like Worcester, this council needs to get into the 21 century, they really do, I have never heard such rubbish in all my life. "Oh look there are some drunk people causing trouble outside the chippy, I know the answer, lets close the chippy that will stop them" ha ha what nonsense!
  11. Denise, believe me those people that you refer to do not get into town any quicker, if anything, going through Newton Farm and the Oval often takes longer but I agree with Victor, if this takes some of the congestion away from the main road then let them carry on, 'be careful what you wish for' because if they do put a no right turn in place and close these small rat runs your queue on the main road all of a sudden becomes a lot longer and certainly much worse!
  12. Colin you should stand for councillor I am sure you would walk it
  13. Hereford council for you, short sighted on many things
  14. Well done Colin, that is a lot of people on the site all at one time, funny enough I was only looking at this the other day and noticed how busy HV was becoming, all good stuff.
  15. Hello welcome to HV, I am sorry to hear of your accident and I trust that all passengers are ok. Can you explain a little more about the accident, were you approaching the roundabout from south of the river, with the complex in front of you? What lane were you in and where were you heading?
  16. Thing is Colin it will only give you a partial idea, what would be perfect for you would be if they turned the traffic lights at the Asda junction at the same time then you would know for sure if your idea is successful.
  17. Fingers crossed for you Colin and well done to Councillor Kenyon for his help, lets just hope the the highways agency approve it for a week.
  18. It's just opened in the last few days, we went in there on Saturday eve, very good to be fair.
  19. Thank you for the update Adrian, I am surprised how long it took to replace a simple duck sign, I understand there was a change over from Amey to BB but even so it has taken 6 months! Now that's the scary part.
  20. This could make a change, we normally go to the racecourse so I will see what my good lady says
  21. I am sure in time they will. Why do you ALWAYS see things in poor light, your glass is always half empty instead of half full, never happy! We never had recycling until a few years ago in 2009 and I am sure in time even that will improve, so whats wrong with profit? Its not a bad word you know, they need profit in order to improve and employ. This is actually something really good and you still complain.
  22. I was out with my good lady last night late for the first time in a long time, never responded to this post before now but I think this is ridiculous, you can go and buy a sandwich or pasty from the 24 garage but no hot food from the Indian? I was very hungry after all the dancing too
  23. I may well go to the meeting. where is the WRVS Centre?
  24. This sounds interesting do you have anymore information? What is this ancient row ditch?
