  1. You know what I'm taking my chance on leaving the E.U. ! It's a changed decision but ultimately one made on the simple principle that for all the dire consequences of economic doom and pestilence suggested by the remain group then why we're we ever given the opportunity to vote in the first place!!! Now we all know what self serving vain politicians are about but to offer up a loaded revolver with one empty chamber to your opposition and allow them to pull the trigger at close range....really!! It's kind of ironic but the sequel to Independence Day (dem Martians are coming),will be released on the 23rd of June......better stay close to Geoff Goldblum then.
  2. If there is to be a western bypass this quite frankly should have been the last segment to be built. It will have no benefit until such time as the road has gone across the river and to be honest with delays to construction and financial constraints a complete western bypass is but a dream until 2030. Even if this County hasn't changed by then our world is sure to have done so. As the council will now race to infill this segment with boxes it will only benefit these new residents at least until they join the queuing traffic at the respective roundabouts on each end.Let's not forget there are currently thousands of new build properties presently chugging through the planning stage none of which are relevant when considering this part of the Western Bypass. Even within my Tupsley seat those one hundred new homes planned for Hampton Dene have not kicked off as yet and its two years since the basic planning template was agreed. We need to remember the names of those that have signed off on what could be the biggest folly known to the county, until such time as a new bridge is created though we may all have given up on this mode of transport by then!
  3. Hello and thank you for your words of comfort. My wife and I came together only because she broke down so many barriers that I created when my children were taken from me when my first marriage ended. It was almost five years after that time when we met and she stuck to me despite the many times I tried to push her away so after so much time these eighteen years a stupid silly mistake resurrects a trust issue that I simply cannot forget or push away to a dark corner of my aching old head. How stupid though for someone to build something up and use the same tools to destroy it.....I wasn't expecting that. It has energised nightmares from the past and in fact most of us appreciate that once trust becomes an issue then the relationship cannot survive and for this reason I have to let go of the one person who truly has been my soul mate for all these years. We have no children which more recently became an issue as it can do of women in their early forties and the near loss of her job plus family issues well my guard was dropped but ultimately the fault lies with me because I simply cannot get around the issue of trust. A tradegy and an absolute waste of a marriage....bloody, bloody phones.
  4. Hello dear friends...it's been a few months, seems longer in fact but I've been away fighting a battle of hearts and minds well actually mine. It's great under anonymity that such a post can be made so forgive me for posting it. Battles with sword have never been a problem for this old knight but skirmishes involving the heart have always been a little trickier and this old boy has fallen victim to a most modern of gadgets....the texting device. Together we have been Mrs Knight and I for 18 wonderful years and like everyone we have shared love and endured pain but it's been together. Without enlarging on this personal tradegy I chanced upon the fact that my younger lass has been secretly texting a work colleague whose name I do not know but it extended into our time. It's gone on for a few months and now found out she explains to me that there was nothing in it but he was there during a time when she needed support which for this old boy hurts because I always felt that was my role. It doesn't help that hides disguised and is fifteen years my junior. What is the definition of a special friend and when does a friendship become affair? My wife has friends at work both male and female most are known to me and plenty are stored on her phone but this guy works in the shadows ...she felt she needed to do this knowing it would hurt if I knew...but again why would it be a threat it were just a friendship. So my friends my apologetic wife who won't reveal, wants me to get around this but not give up this "special friendship". Our marriage was founded on love, friendship, loyalty and trust but the trust is now broken and my friends I cannot get round the fact that secrets have entered our marriage, our friendship our lives. For me it's simple perhaps that's a blokes way of dealing with it but why would someone gamble on an 18 year relationship for the preservation of one that's just a few months old ...unless of course there is more to it..you see people the battle is mine and I'm losing it. Texting and Facebook ...ultimate weapons in the creation and destruction of relationships..apologies friends.
  5. I should add that I have tried not to make this a sexist statement however post war Britain gave freedoms and access and the motor car was very much a part of this as we know. The bulk of these early road crusaders were men. A man and his car became very much a mistress that lived outside or in the garage and was generally the only 'other woman' accepted by the spouse. The car formed part of his tools, his manhood, his functional purpose in life and for some without it brings dread. Don't get me wrong ladies but it's the hunter gatherer thing. It's been my experience in life that when a guy has a stroke his recovery depends on his mindset whereas a woman will just get on with it. For him..."will I ever cut the grass, drive my car, paper the walls...all the things that I've been expected to do"...serve and protect. Signing off.
  6. Perhaps my last contribution for a while but a moment to comment on this which is a difficult subject. The 'giving up' of the keys is for many a signal that they are perhaps departing the last station before their final destination. It's hard, very hard for both the one that has sat behind the wheel and that cherished soul mate that has cossetted the passenger seat all those many years fiddling with the radio, passing over the boiled sweets in that paper bag or perhaps if said passenger has four legs licking the flippin window!! After all we retired here to this place of ours, the countryside, our beautiful home we never considered for a moment that we could one day become trapped, our children displaced throughout the world, and neighbours that we barely know. Don't get me wrong I have witnessed the tragedy created by failing to "let go" so as already agreed regular assessment over a certain age is crucial but who tells the partner " I'm sorry dear you can't drive anymore because you have the early signs of dementia"? Would it be the wife or husband who has lovingly provided map assistance and perhaps does not drive after all this would be a shared sentence for what is to come. Should it be the son or daughter who perhaps refuses to accept that their parent is about to embark on a new journey for which they will one day fail to be a part of in one form or another. Difficult.
  7. Understand Slim. As a matter of interest though who funds the Health Watch organisation?
  8. Well sooner than expected...the BBC news reports today of an attempted dingy sailing of refugees bound for the UK.
  9. Not everyone loves concrete...but you have to admire the engineering!
  10. Ragwert - according to the HT story the council is in consultation with SHYPP to cut their funding by 66%. that is why they were in High Town last week for people to sign their petition. This was my understanding perhaps RT has good news??
  11. Just added my vote and comment Glenda!
  12. Well personally I think they need to promote what they do because most of jo public would not have a clue and to be honest I'm not really sure so perhaps you can give me an idea what they have recently achieved Chris. After all the status quo within the Wye Valley NHS Trust remains (special measures), plenty of senior clinical posts remain vacant, threatened closures of minor injury units together with GP access as discussed. I was intrigued to hear that Slim is a member and been on this site a while but never really engaged on many of the NHS topics discussed. To be honest how often do you see public comments from HW responding to events within our local acute healthcare system...it would/could reassure the public that someone is keeping an eye on what's going on.
  13. Yes...I don't have a problem with the increase as we have discussed before but like you I have concerns about financial accountability.
  14. So with the additional precepts what do you reckon another £1/£2 on top?
  15. So now it's pig prices sitting on the floor...what is going on? Are we really over producing in pig, lamb, beef and milk?
  16. Have viewed the campaign video!
  17. Time to finish....individuals with hard line opinions are rarely swayed so why continue? Personally my knuckles don't drag but I've come across a few trolls that do..I do drag my sword on occasion...Mrs Knight always pulls me up on this for not leaving the house correctly dressed!!!
  18. A huge topic which generated much debate and we know that there are visual and anonymous councillors reading this site...but zip response. WHATS GOING ON PLEASE?
  19. There you go ....mercury rising and its this passionate argument from the vocal ends of reason , where over reaction draws blood and the many suffer as a result.. not unlike what's happening in Syria where the majority of the people have no axe to grind, they just want life. We see but can we really interpret when for the majority of us a big deal occurs when our bins spill over.
  20. Could someone in the know provide an update on the above topic. It was my understanding that a failure to have planning approval by March could mean the loss of the funding from central government.
  21. ......I will go with the public and say sell some small holdings, kick out the tenants not pulling their wait, and support people, ex military and others, who want to enter agriculture . Support young people entering agriculture and support local charities. Agreed Chris though am I right in thinking that some of these farms lie in the path of the proposed relief road?....a decision for this must be very very soon.
  22. Hereford Health Watch should be actively involved in this process however I agree with the idea of fully independent advocates walking the clinical floor and be comfortable in their abilities Chris.
  23. Yep and all these new housing developments yet to kick off!
