  1. It is my understanding that the store is profitable and one of the best performers in the Midlands area however it is down to the people of Herefordshire to demonstrate its support for this iconic brand. The store has a family within it and there are certain customers who engage with it as part of their daily life routine.....
  2. Was it me or was there more of us today? Standing, watching, placing themselves in that position that matches their expectations. Why are they here? Memories of someone special, respect perhaps for a past love that drives and eternal flame between then and now. What of this group reflection? Well it is a moment,a quiet special moment, but a moment in the company of others and not in isolation. Will it always be the same? It will grow, evolve and flourish I'm sure. For as people we look to the future as well as the past.Although it is a secret, private and mindful conversation we think of our children, and we, the worry well, worry for sure. Our public parent face needs to show courage and positivity in front of our children but please be sure to mind your own well-being and share a conversation for this will mean that you are not alone in your own fears and concerns.
  3. The Maylord centre is starting to look a little vulnerable now however if the landlords are clever about rents and the council makes it favourable for start up businesses in terms of rates then there is no reason why they can't be occupied. The exact same thing has happened in Winchester. An unattractive development called Brookes went up about the same time and now most of the units are empty.
  4. There are moments in your life, unplanned, vulnerable, desperate moments when a darkness descends and there is no friend, no text, no thinkable alternative solution to relieve the pain that inflicts you in whatever form. I'm sorry lad and sorry for those that you have left behind.R.I.P.
  5. Hi Bobby Though much of what you said is true I can't accept that today is a good day so I'm not pleased at all. There are so many reasons and examples why I feel this way but to bring it home a little we now might feel obliged to increase spending on military and nuclear capabilities. Where does the money come for this? National budgets on healthcare, local social welfare budgets or perhaps huge increases in taxes across the board. Of course we could allow the U.S. to just move across the pond and move in proper like.... American corporates have been running business in the UK for a very long time including our NHS supply chain....The super powers are squaring up for a fight but this time possibly in our own back yard...not theirs.
  6. We criticize the police at times for deviating off the lawful blue line but in this case the world's policeman has just gone rogue with the bullying mentality and firepower to do exactly want they want to do. Will we now become a real American puppet based on all Trump views or will we stand alone with noisy irritating neighbours on all sides. Only democracy can guarantee peace....
  7. I would like to write a story about this but I can't. Whether you want to preserve our little county to traditions of the past or bring it into the globalisation that has caused so much distress well fear now. If you don't do films or gaming I'm sorry but a synergy with Fight Club or perhaps Call of Duty. All the key Captains are now in place...if you have a God well you'd better get in touch. It's been an incredible 18 months in many ways. .....we have a real problem now.
  8. It's about choice and I welcome it. Thank you Colin for creating a separate positive topic.
  9. Yes I read this Denise...would be huge for Hereford to lose its M&S.
  10. Well your not wrong Ragwert...Personally I'm in the positive camp on this.
  11. I missed the chimney aspect Cambo but it's a far cry from where this could have gone...Thanks to those who cared enough. It would have probably been demolished otherwise.
  12. Well around January we get the chance to raise up this old chestnut. I for one continue to feel that there is a positivity about retail in Hereford despite all the known challenges. A few new independents are showing their faces. If we could just get a buyer for the bomb site.
  13. It does seem that without subsidies the future of bus services in the County looks grim. I noticed that the First Bus Depot site has been sold.

    Begging

Well a first today for GK. In the space of fifteen minutes I was approached three times for change. That combined with chugging in High town means that I'm left with a troubled mindset. Now I have not had the best of years but I know that if I obliged everyone that entered my eye space I would be homeless & broke within the week. My troubled mind accepts that this scenario is set to get worse as time moves forward and more and more people slip of the edge but it's the feeling of inadequacy that leaves a scar on this troubled soul.
  15. Now I know this is a frequent topic of conversation but actually I want to thank Civil Enforcement for applying common sense. Yesterday I parked up at St.Martin's and dutifully placed my ticket in the window of my trusty transport. Grabbing my gym gear from the boot I headed for Halo ready to thrash out my frustrations on the concept two rowing machine. On my return to the car I saw that cursed yellow plastic docket and immediately thought why.Looking at the ticket it had clearly turned itself over when I closed the boot. I nearly always check this because the other trick is for it to blow off the dashboard but on this day I did not. Anywayz I immediately appealed and to be fair these guys have accepted my explanation and cancelled the notice...all within 24 hours. Now I know our Council gets a lot of grief on this site however this is one member who appreciates their common sense and compassion on this occasion. I shall probably check the ticket three times now...not good for my OCD.
  16. When this was discussed back in November we thought it would be a fruitless exercise unless seriously enforced using cameras. Any barriers would soon be damaged in minor RTC,s and then left buckled and twisted for months as they decide as to who pays.
  17. Not for me...it's looks like two shipping containers with windows. In fact it looks very similar to the place where I'm about to store my cherished possessions but for twenty quid a week. I wonder if they could add a wood burning stove
  18. It's true it could never be free anymore. On my visits to hospitals in Wales where it is free on many sites there is a bit of a free for all park anywhere culture. Even I now park at Morrison's and walk across but this is no good for those with mobility issues. George's idea is an interesting one but unfortunately ward staff don't have the time to administer this kind of set up. Any profits from hospital car park charges should be invested back into clinical services and demonstrated as such.
  19. Well here is one topic that gets me every time. According to the latest media reports our relatively small hospital is now only second to Guildford for the most expensive 'first hour' in England.
  20. Well here I am ....and Dippy I did throw everything at this battle but it is lost. A stupid text and the inability of this old scroat not being able to deal with the residue that is trust. It would have been so much better if my lady had tried to make this better but I have seen nothing these last months. The ' lets pretend this did not happen' principle not workable I'm afraid. So to protect a friendship at work an 18 year friendship is lost,...and it is lost because I have lost a home and all that it embraces, and I have lost all that I thought was great. So as my focus moves to recovery and once the home is sold I have to make a decision as to what I do next. Currently looking for alternative digs/rooms so if anyone knows of a place to recover for a fit 50 something, non-smoker, Costa drinker then please drop me a message. Its got to be clean and tidy though and I need a space for my car. As the fire and smoke from the battle clears I an sure that I will see a way through and from that point my contribution to this great site will resume. All the best GK.
  21. Well there you go.....been away and off line and signed in for the first time to catch this. Hope to contribute more to the site as the months come and go and catch up on what's been going on.
  22. Irrespective of the above and of course not to make the situation any worse I see Nicola Sturgeon has wasted no time in pushing for another referendum for Scotland. She may see this as an opportunity however this may well be the biggest mistake the SNP will ever make.
  23. crap...one nutty Walt has got through and pressed that button! I'm stepping outside with a cup of tea and a chocolate digestive.
  24. All this aside...just think a moment about the very near future...President of the USA Donald Trump, Russia and Putin, President Xi Jenping, and Boris Johnston. All ravin mad but two trying to decide whether their hair justifies their presence on "Love Island". Bloody Hell.
