  1. Thanks Dippy ..it's great this topic I thought I'd read the final page.. but oh no. So there are a few options but who wants to bet on a completely new site! As Policing becomes more virtual how about somewhere nice and quiet then say "Brockington" ( tongue in cheek). No flooding issues there!
  2. Sorry for duplication..no idea how it happened or how to remove!
  3. Yes I was thinking the same Dippy because site options are restrictive plus of course agreeable criteria for both parties. Have to be honest I'm surprised by this approach because it's more likely to see future mergers between ambulance and fire though locally there has always been a preference to have a central fire station. I know the Home Secretary made a comment a while ago suggesting the emergency services should all be housed on one campus.

  5. Well you have my support John though sadly arguments over future housing development will be difficult to win against mother government particularly without the lobbying abilities of Herefordshire IOC Members of Parliament! With a coalition likely what better hand to play for getting the right results for Herefordshire people. It might just be that another election could be less than twelve months away if there proves to be such a divide. Think about that and the possible influence the individual members might have! I agree about a new Eastern river crossing however whatever we think locally, traffic will continue to grow in this County as obligatory housing and new commerce gains momentum and it would be a very blinkered approach if IOC did not also consider external factors of increased traffic from HGV,s and all those keen to avoid the major motorway network which is close to overcapacity. This North/South traffic will continue to rise and I have seen this myself over the last year. So the Southern Relief Road should be scrapped in favour of an Eastern bypass A49 link because at least it will support all those travelling to Cheltenham,Gloucester,Worcester and the like because trust me there are more doing this than heading out to Abergavenny or Brecon! Most other aspects of your manifesto I wholeheartedly support chap. One final thing..as not to irritate the electorate I am slightly mystified why Mark chose to resign and make the song and dance about the antics of the planning department. He was after all stepping down as a Councillor anyway. He's done great as an individual supporting local people but this has irritated a few after all we all know what's been going on and he has witnessed this for some time before making the grand gesture. Good Luck!
  6. I think we might be adding Posies the florists as well. They have closing down signs all over the shop window!
  7. I know it's not over yet but I just wonder whether we can start a book on where the secret cuts will strike and where we expect to find income generation at both national and local level. I will take a punt at increased national insurance contributions and a 2.5% increase in VAT. ( Autumn budget 2015) Perhaps a 're banding of properties. ( more bands, higher values) This will run alongside an increase in Council Tax with a new ceiling of 5% rather than the current 2%. As for further cuts well I dare not think of this..
  8. It wood be good to know what we finally raised for the advert Colin!
  9. Oh now you've done it Bobby ....I hear something stirring in de woods could it be that you have awakened another Herefordian Legend! Yes it's Lofty Wiseman seizing the opportunity to grab those lost Taurus Types scrambling amongst the Welsh Forests. Time for my type of training he mutters as he digs his pit adjusting the snare to suit a suit! Your medical qualification might stop you bleeding out but the marketing and business degree forget it!!! Now you project managers cop a load of my jacket spuds and wild boar that been cooking away for hours ....you didn't strategically think that through when you fell in you plonker! Be warned Taurus Types your seriously affecting my quality of life with your greed and nose for a profit...look here what I've done to this little porkers trotters. Just one or two calls will awaken old comrades that have done great service to Queen, Country and my old regiment. So with this in mind I'd build a relationship with the community first before building ya cash cow otherwise you might get caught up in someone else's exercise...deliverance and all that!
  10. I guess that's historical from the days the counties were merged. The bill for pensions in the NHS is enormous and I think will cripple it eventually. It is quite possible for a few x public servants to have retired on near full salary in their forties living on until their eighties comfortable in the fact that their income post retirement will exceed their salary and contributions.
  11. I should have added that I have asked NHS England whether they have budgeted for an in-house pharmacy plus future use diagnostic provision such as portable ultrasound scanning and even pre hospital outpatient appointments.
  12. Sorry people's this is just fantasy. Mulching through my toast ( yes mulching...all teeth gone, eyesight fading etc etc) the Right Honourable Brandon Lewis MP highlighted the fact that the majority of new development is on brown field sites. He must mean where the soil has been turned then! Now I need to find my hearing aid quick like before our local Clinical Commissioning Group say No to freebies. Once I have completed this mission it's time to fill in the forms for my Lifetime Benefit Award after all the antics of the last two governments have made me quite unstable.....you can still get this award can't you?
  13. Well I know you were going anyway chap however I think you could have at least thrown a grenade in the room before shutting the door. Based on the history of this current council why should we doubt you...Sadly the whole set up is tainted even if you are one of the good ones.
  14. Hello Harry. Sadly the King is correct .. My old city of Winchester has witnessed what can happen when there is no preparation for increased student numbers. One old council estate called stanmore once a fantastic centrepiece of 1930's construction changed considerably as councils were encouraged to give away at ridiculously low values which was fine until the new age landlords moved in, seizing the opportunity to stuff five spotty teenagers, hormones raging, drink cans thrown in the old privet hedge soon to be ripped out and laid to concrete or rubble so that three or four 12 year old beaten ups can be parked outside waiting for there first Friday night suicide mission. All well and good but what about the old couple who live in the terraced next door. That same couple who have meticulously kept their home spotless, hedges trimmed and bins tidy! Of course it does not stop there because the demand for houses increases putting the prices up forcing local people out. Heh I'm not over yet because the Council now short of development sites seeks out every opportunity to land grab so say goodbye to any old allotment site provided in the yesteryear. So Harry only time will tell if the University prooves to serve the city well but heads up mate if you want to influence the people please create purpose built accommodation for the younguns and not just in the first year. Also it's an absolute requirements to provide a fully integrated transport hub. Get this right and you will quash the doubters!
  15. Yes I'm with Ragwert. A lot of town and cities are creating combined transport hubs and let's be honest with a new university banging on the door it should make sense. I also agree with the merger of both the Fire and Ambulance Service onto one site as I actually believe this will be an enforced action by government anyway. Our current Home Secretary would like to combine all three services but this is a nonsense.
  16. On the money Dippy.. I hope we get a favourable response because we have to stir those that choose to accept the changes being thrust upon this pleasant land. If active membership of the Voice increases and as one we can become more vocal and then just maybe working with other pro Herefordshire groups we can enforce change. I travelled to Winchester this weekend and it was distressing to see that the whole length of the A34 running from Newbury to the old capital carpeted with litter, both sides mile upon mile of paper and plastic detritus. A fantastic advertisement for tourism something that was not lost on our Scandinavian guests. There may have been wild primroses..but you could not see them. Our Danish friends were a little taken aback by the quality of our roads and almost the total absence in some places of white line demarcation. Some of our A class roads are now missing whole sections of double white line definition which is very dangerous. Just two examples where supposed council and government department cutbacks have had a negative impact and where budgets need to be re-instated...so let's crack on.
  17. It's makes a lot of noise at the beginning and then carries on its business in a stealth like fashion until one day it re-emerges.One saving grace is that after a period of time you can no-longer pass it on. Mind you it may have messed with your brain so much by then there is not much chance of that happening. I know in the past that this condition has got confused in the later stages with dementia though to be honest this is a kinder way of explaining the symptoms to those who have to observe.
  18. Well it explains much Dippy...people being blind to what's going on, mad, mad decision making and numbness to the pain it creates. In the end if the madness don't get ya exploding aorta will!
  19. Well sadly this nasty little infection could be the cause of all the counties problems....we have in fact moved onto the third stage. Tertiary Syphilis
  20. WirralPC Posted Today With elderly, poor, disabled people, foreigners and persons of differing religion coming under renewed threat in 21st Century UK, Europe and the west in general, we need to be constantly reminded about the past, no matter how unsettling it is to do this. Banning the insignia and symbolism or being lily-livered in the face of it would only serve to condone those seeking to attack us under another banner. Lest we forget... Also, I agree, the site could do with a makeover.. However, there are some good links to a few worthy topics. So working on this theme you think the British public will enjoy seeing the black ISIS flag as it proudly marches down Hereford Old Town maybe destroying a few essential historic artefacts to boot perhaps the Mapppa Mundi. Sorry.. enough is done already to insight hatred in this country so in my book sticking such swastikas on your website does not necessarily get you support even if you feel your cause is a just one!
  21. Well I did Wirral PC and again keep an open mind. Firstly I never wish to see the Swastika for what it represents and secondly having read a little of the website before the mass of colour forced me to close the page I will say this. If I had secured a positive compensation claim for around three quarters of a million quid to secure the care of a family member I'm sure that I rather not waste it in Blighty in a very exclusive nursing home heavens forbid ...they are so expensive the money would go so quickly. I'm no expert in this aspect of healthcare however those large successful claims made against the NHS often have clauses in them in that it never gets paid as a lump sum, it can often be reviewed and the should the individual whose quality of life changed sadly pass away then the payments cease. After all the compensation was for them and not for the family members.
