  1. " Having your say" works Bill My preference would be in saying the least but with maximum impact and reminding people that it's the electorate that instigates change not politicians. Also it's a free site...and we all love a bargain.
  2. So for me I would like to see something like this: Hereford Voice .......It's your free Voice so use it !..... Register today and have an impact on change for Herefordshire www.herefordvoice.co.uk Obviously selecting right font etc
  3. With local and general elections just around the corner I would dearly like to activate the silent members within the site. I also believe we should also have a go about raising awareness of Hereford Voice perhaps placing an advert in the Hereford Times. I really believe that this site has all the potential to make local politicians take notice of its electorate but we need more members and more apolitical diversity. I have suggested to Colin about making a donation towards the advert which I feel should be one/half page (cost permitting) with a single strap line to maximise impact. If you feel I'm talking rubbish please feel free to express that but if we want to get things going we need to be organised and preferably without flying a national political flag. The right decisions for the best county in England!
  4. I'm with you on this Paul. The Police have resisted attempts for a side arm to be a part of daily kit for decades however future events will no doubt dictate change. A few years ago myself and a male paramedic were called to property in Bromyard where a young man was said to be in a distressed state of mind and known to the authorities. Guidelines set within WMAS state that you cannot enter the building until the Police arrive. We got near the address under blue light parked up and waited until a solo female officer arrived...all 5' 3" of her! Then we went in..
  5. Yes I agree with TWG because this whole sorry business is going to run and run! Also Ubique has a point about HT.Mrs knight hasn't bought the paper home yet but I can't understand how it's not found its way on their internet pages.
  6. Ah damn I popped out for a drink and popcorn..what round is this? I can't see there being a knockout blow here..I'm down for a points decision!
  7. Ahh electricity well I've used it, even up to 360kilojoules because funny enough it can save life's too! To be fair an old colleague of mine did use defib paddles once on a 6ft drugged up 18 stone nutter who was hell bent on ripping the clothes off a nurse in a London A & E department! You see a couple of security chaps with expanding batons did not quite cut it! The Police will always be a target because they are a sign of authority and some people don't like authority until of course you need them. I should not worry though because once I.S.I.S or one of its affiliates kicks off a campaign here in the UK the deadly tazer will not have time to deploy or get anywhere near its victim because the victor would have off loaded a semi automatic assault rifle. Sadly the old days off getting a bit lairy after a few pints have gone as it's pre lash plus beer plus drugs nights now. In my early days as a paramedic there was at least some recognition for what you did but now that's gone and police, fire service and healthcare workers are just there to be abused both physically and emotionally often by people who claim to hate bullies themselves. Hypocrisy rules..
  8. They have Cambo but this is my point. In Africa they seem to have free reign with little or no international response even though the same atrocities are being carried out. It's a spreading web and well financed. It's not about religion it's about the usual...power and control.
  9. Yet amidst all the focus of the heinous crimes where the money is ...Boko Harem has a free hand in Africa where life remains very cheap and there is no political interest!
  10. Oh..I didn't imply that sorry. I have merely enjoyed the conversation that has taken place on this thread! There you are "Freeman Ideology" more reading!
  11. An eloquent response Stilton Cheesewright. Personally I side with no political group so it's great to see our strong socialist senior members on this site doing battle with a worthy opponent. Sadly the gross inefficiencies of successive governments be it a local, national or international level have helped their cause and with good reason. Multi national corporate acts of commercial terrorism feed those conspiracy theorists articles some of which can be found within this site (Trans Pacific Partnerships & Corporate Global Governance) just examples. I'm a free thinker with a good set of principles even though my life,s journey has at times forced me to question many things...I am grateful for this. All the very best.
  12. Well for a couple of hours this morning we had almost gridlock because of the accident near Hintons garage on the A49 and it did not matter which side of town you were on or which road you were using. We will need to be prepared for more of this because said proposed road would not have helped.
  13. Stick with this site Stilton Cheesewright your contribution here was most welcome and you have made some interesting comments.
  14. Well I was wrong ..it has had a second coat..go on Bobby you know you want to..somebody get him out of the Commercial!!
  15. I've always found this County a very easy one to navigate after all view it as a clock with Hereford slap bang in the middle surely it's not difficult with Ross at six o'clock,Leominster at 12, Ledbury & Kington supporting @ 3 and 9. HEREFORD is truly the heart of this County and the pressure is on so we do need a bypass and most people on this forum accept this because if we don't the old girl will have a heart attack which will stifle out any kind of city recovery. I read an article in Hereford Times this week from a Hampton Park resident who clearly feels that this is not required because after all any HGV,s coming along the A40 from Wales can divert via the A449 Ross to Ledbury then back down the A417 via Trumpet,Burley Gate and the bottom of Dinmore Hill taking a right on the A49 and continuing their journey. This apparently is not much of a diversion! Now this is someone that does not use our roads very often but it does highlight possible hurdles that need to be jumped in order to get momentum behind a campaign for a bypass that runs around the East of the city.
  16. Thats not a lot of people Glenda but not a surprise based on the notice given. Sadly I was in and out before 3pm. The council has probably spent a fortune already on these consultants. Unless they commit to a bridge with this road project it's not going to happen and there's a battle coming. I felt that there was an elephant in the room but not a huge bloodied 'white one' which this is going to be if it goes ahead. The arrogance of this council is incredible....pushing, no bullying through a nonsense project at taxpayers expense prior to an election!! Are they going to get bloodied ..You betcha and I wait with baited breathe to see which parliamentary candidate puts his/her name to this.
  17. Well that's the same kind of message I got but as mentioned before I only saw planning consultant badges..£25 million quid ...just incredible.
  18. Sadly I agree with Cambo particularly the last sentence. Legal representation these days is for the privileged few and Legal Aid something that you learn about whilst studying a law degree!
  19. Well I've hacked the cameras and I don't think it's you.....maybe that's Dippys shadowy figure?
  20. I know it's ridiculous Biomech... I'm going for Friday night 30th. A few sherbets post club kick out and no-where's open for food.....tagged Hereford Voice...who dunnit !!!!
  21. I know Glenda said she would attend however I thought HC would field someone in support of event so to speak. Don't laugh but it was kind of suggested that this road might not even figure in the grand scheme of things perhaps just a relief road for the people of Belmont!!!
  22. Well I went to this public pre-consultation meeting today. They took my name but that's it so I can't see what's stopping the Consultants telling the HC that everything is a goer for planning submission. Phrases heard included: 1. Why was there so little notice of this event? 2. What is the purpose of this road and who will benefit? 3. Why can't a second river crossing be included in the package? 4. How much in filling is determined as a result of this meaningless road? To be honest these guys could not really provide answers and unless I missed them there was no council representation. Not one visitor to this event that I spoke to saw any benefits to this project only money wasted. The southerly point to this road comes out on a roundabout on the A465 just to the west of the turning where traffic joins from Clehonger. Nice pictures and drawings though!!
  23. It will be I interesting to know Denise which communities are selected and of course as you say where the money goes.
