  1. Turn of the century? Mum worked at both old halfrauds (80/90s) before relocation to Holmer Trading Est. the kettle was there then outside bait room window. Everyone owned an Apollo bike then, unless you were super rich and could afford a Carrera or got staff discount!! Remember this? http://www.herefordshirehistory.org.uk/archive/herefordshire-images/hereford-images/commercial-square-commercial-street-and-commercial-road-hereford/775661
  2. Pound is already increasing too. Everyone thinks we are in the scheiBe; truth is they are. They know they'll be losing millions££ from GB who have been sheep for far too long. The people of GB are stronger than anyone anticipated! How many countries will follow? Kind of reminds me of MLK; "no that's daft" they said....... Who's laughing now?
  3. Correct. Waterstones WILL only be trading from the ground floor, regardless of planning permission above the store. IIRC the kettle is outside the copper kettle at the bottom of Aylestone Hill.
  4. Mr Symonds you really are a ray of sunshine. Thank you
  5. Nothing to do with the players underperforming or playing a team with more will and effort then? May as well blame someone else eh; a footballers moto - it's never my fault. I have no idea about football...that's my opinion. Insubordination is unheard of in the game of rugby!
  6. Yup! Why the barriers? It's not going to fall on anyone is it? If they really are concerned about someone endangering themselves on it, why not remove it in the first instance; therefore saving money on barriers and inevitably grass seed to rejuvenate the decomposing area where the tree lay for months! Not really hard to fathom is it?
  7. Oh Mr Chappel your nonchalance is a little disoriented. As you completely missed the point, I'll try to simplify for you; Graffiti although unsightly and vandalism yes, does not stop children from playing safely. Mindless destruction does! Here's a link for you. http://www.hags-smp.co.uk/ No thanks needed. That felled tree has been lying beside the Victoria Bridge for at least 3 weeks now with barriers around it.....
  8. Not at all Glenda. 'We' are updated hourly on ward/bed situations. Besides the wards are only closed to visitors.
  9. Cheers Colin. Ha ha slim!!! Nothing of the sort I assure you . All positive from me. Thanks for sharing. I got a kiss from a 92YO lady yesterday as thank you. A little thanks goes a long way... ;)
  10. I am well aware of the internal daily ongoings. This is purely about experiences. Thanks.
  11. With the national NHS crisis ongoing, please share your experiences whilst at/in the County Hospital; whether a patient yourself or friend/relative accompanying someone; awaiting operations or short/long term care. I am looking for honest answers and experiences NOT opinions or assumptions. Leave out the extortion that is CP+ car park- nothing to do with NHS - even staff have to pay!! I can't share too much information myself due to confidentiality reasons; but from the inside the situation is far worse than "you" see. Please do watch 'Hospital' on bbc2 for a insight into real life- not drama like holby or casualty. If you wish to remain anonymous please PM your post to me or Colin to repost on your behalf anonymously. Thank you for your cooperation.
  12. "A Chinese construction company is claiming to be the world’s fastest builder after erecting a 57-storey skyscraper in 19 working days in central China. Broad Sustainable Building, a prefab construction firm, put up the rectangular, glass and steel Mini Sky City in the Hunan provincial capital of Changsha, assembling three floors a day using a modular method, the vice-president, Xiao Changgeng, said. The company now has ambitions to assemble the world’s tallest skyscraper, at 220 floors, in only three months." It'll keep HC planning dept. on their toes!!!!!
  13. UPDATE The whole development will not be completed by August 2017 as anticipated.
  14. A two up, two down 'apartment' block. Not by Keepmoat.
  15. It appears that National Grief are at it again! This time outside Farm Foods. They may have started on a Sunday with a full workforce but guaranteed to continue throughout the week with minimal effort. Add this to the farcical at the north end of the city and whalah GRIDLOCK. That is why I love Hereford- we sit back and take it lying down. I will cry if there are 'minor inconveniences' on the GWW though. *UPDATE* All is clear. Sometimes I wonder if my negativity is pro-positivity!
  16. Those Freedom Church lot should be ashamed of themselves! Clearly not following their own rules. "Thou shalt not use profanities" ;-)
  17. Cheers Colin. Apparently that is a 'runner' Colin! Stand up and run round without breaking a leg or arm or neck. Even my littleun has spun me off it sitting down holding on and she's 2stone soaking wet!! Less dangerous jumping out of trees...... More noise... indeed, how about getting the primary schools involved?
  18. I'm referring to The Springy Things in the old part, they are inoperative and have been for weeks. The trampoline in the "new" part was filled in with tarmac years ago due to a few predictable accidents due to unsupervised bouncing (busted limbs and imminent lawsuits) (It's a high risk sport so why not stick one in a kids park eh!) - fill it in problem solved!!! Nothing replaced it. The whole place is now looking tired and the "all weather" surface clearly isn't. BB HC or whoever are responsible need to invest in the future. There is plenty of vandal proof kit out there. Stop cutting corners, its cheap for a reason! Spend a little more initially and save money in the long run. You won't eradicate vandals but you can stop their destruction.
  19. For all the councillors out there. Any idea when the kids equipment is being repaired or replaced? It's been too long with barricades around the offending area. Thanks.
  20. Cathedral school would be better off buying the green dragon and renovating that. No need for transportation then. If only all thinking was logical.....
  21. We have some of the slowest tinternet in Europe. http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2016/06/q1-2016-akamai-uk-internet-speeds-reach-15-mbps-vs-6-3-mbps-globally.html According to BT I can get speeds up to 76mbs, off peak I barely get 32mb. The only way I could possibly get the magic 76 is to have fibre from cabinet to door and throughout internally. BT do not offer this option yet still insist 76mbs is possible at low demand periods!! I called a specialist fibre optic engineer to obtain a quote to install my own fibre cable to cabinet; about £1000+, only to be promptly informed that I am not allowed to do so anyway unless I provide my own trench; That would require several golden handshakes by local authorities........ or rent BTs
  22. Freedom Church should 'hire' him for themselves! Might help them line their pockets! On a serious note, this is nothing less than a serious extortion racket. Will he be found guilty- no. Why, because he has given some to charity. Have a look how easy it is to set up a charity collection, let's say "abandoned blind puppies" street collection over 2 weeks - £500 donated, less expenses and overheads marketing etc (even charities have them!), total actually donated to ABP PLC £58.67 £440 in the pocket for a few hours "work" and a handful of 'printed' recipes from tinternet just in case!. The Charities Commission won't check because 'you' received a big thank you letter for your kind and great full donation from ABP. Clothing bags/banks donate +-75p a tonne to charity, profit margin £150+ a tonne after export!! Please read the small print before donating.
