  1. It's not just vodaphone. I'm with BTfibre and apparently able to get 72mb! I average 30-40. I have never reached the magic 72 not even at 4am! If you read the small print it does say somewhere that, your maximum speed is just that; nothing more! They do not guarantee speeds as it is 'total user depending'!
  2. The Norwegians know how to build things properly and quickly! https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.cnbc.com/amp/2017/04/06/norway-to-build-315-million-ship-tunnel-in-world-first.html "Construction of the tunnel is set to start in 2019 and take three to four Years"........ To carve out a mountain! It takes Hereford 50+ years to get a second bridge. I'm sure we'd all settle for a tunnel instead if a bridge is too much trouble!
  3. I thought Colin was special with that letter; but.... Mine arrived in the post today!
  4. He has confirmed on social media today, a uni project and a cyber security campus for the city. Great - another project for the city, to go with the eyesore in high town; that's lasted - what seven years? The ESG that turned into a private sale/ownership precinct and nothing like the foretold plans. The tree lined avenue of a revamped Belmont Road. The central 'relief' road well underway, nearing completion and over budget. We wait with baited breath to see if 'The Oval' is transformed to blend in with its new surroundings courtesy of HHL - not the developers. And the biggest 'project' of all is our well renowned transport infrastructure with a few minor blemishes!
  5. I am confused? Google is confused! Hereford is confused. Is the university, NMITE or another entity of Hereford, Ludlow & Worcester colleges? Where is it? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/universityeducation/11449486/NMITE-Britains-newest-university-all-you-need-to-know.html http://www.worcester.ac.uk/community/hereford-university-centre.html Again Jessie Norman confirmed today that a "Uni Project" has been granted. It's the 'project' bit that scares me.....
  6. http://www.skylonpark.co.uk/news/2017/march/10/funding-awarded-for-new-herefordshire-cyber-security-centre.aspx#.WNqtvDN4WEc Confirmed by Jessie Norman MP today.
  7. Half a million quid to Worcester CC! I thought we broke them ties years ago? Can they not use local engineering firms instead of out of town ones? Why the £238k to whitecross school? It's not just the large sums we need answers too.
  8. Having driven past this area (when I finally got there) I can see no other reason to describe it than another route to engage in congestion. I'm assuming there will be yet another set of ATS at both ends, leading to an already congested route at either end making the ATS purposeless! The construction of this road is nothing more than CPOs and HC showing the Government that they are "trying" to alleviate congestion within the city and that their money is being well spent! No one of transport supremacy from central government has even been to Hereford, they just take what ever our councillors tell them. The only councilman that has listened to public outcry and fought for a decent alleviation, was shot down by his so-called peers and had his ideology dismissed unanimously. It is high time that Hereford City Council, Herefordshire County Council, or any other trading name that they may use, are rejuvenated with new fresh blood, a sense of purpose and common sense. The best joke I've heard from them of late is that Hereford will be city of culture 2021. Good luck!
  9. When the "New Bridge" was built, the then mayor said that another river crossing/bridge would be needed within 10 years. That was 40+ years ago, and councillors are still oblivious to the issue. The housing developers at Whitecross anticipated this, however nothing was ever done - to this day! Ever wondered why Wordsworth Road is so wide? The roundabout with a vacant exit and nothing beyond? This was the anticipated second river crossing route North\South joining the B4349/A465. Hereford 2020 or City of Culture 2021 they really are delusional!!
  10. I have heard that a few HH tenants have been moved on from their new properties. Are HH now keeping on top of these new properties statuses? Maintain standards or move on.
  11. Common practice to leave a caravan (which is the case at TCH) so that they can return once more en mass to "collect" their property once the heat or security dies down and set up camp! They can achieve this within 30mins. Then it takes weeks/months to evict them. How long are TCH willing to block the car park entrance?? 'They' will be watching nearby ready to pounce. Me - I'd push that caravan outside the premises as soon as.
  12. Two hours from Tesco to Tesco via mordiford where nobody was willing to give way! Chaos.
  13. Mike you are disillusioned if you think that's going to happen! We don't even have enough bed space in the hospital and planning won't allow expansion to increase potential. The Access centre is plenty big enough and have rooms that are vacant. It's filling the vacancies that's one issue, and patients who do not need to be there in the first place. Most can be diagnosed & treated by over the counter medicinal products by calling 111.
  14. Didn't Hereford want a University? Problem solved. Nah that's too economical and sensible for our cretinous backward-thinking county planning department. Isn't there a ROFS opposite Holme Lacy College too? Perfect University placement for Agricultural students wanting further education locally. But that's too sensible.......
  15. Boards and top platform gone already. Word is they're putting an adjustable floor into it, to enable all ages and abilities to use it!! The only other place with an adjustable floor is Barrs Court School, great if you're confined to a wheelchair or have mobility issues. Becoming another teaching pool. There is a long waiting list for lessons. Costs a considerable amount more than just updating the diving pool tho!!! The leisure pool has wheelchair access..... Food for thought......
  16. Tonight the mystery will be revealed on BBC Panorama 830pm.
  17. Demolition has commenced on the diving pool.
  18. Haywood Lane top of the callow. Junction with A49 south very degraded road surface and very large hole on the centre line. Approach with care when leaving A49. Also a large hole driving line, southbound A49 south on the bend approaching the Pilgrim Hotel.
  19. A465 southbound jnc with Walnut Tree Ave. Nearside drain with exposed ironwork- very dangerous! Potentially unavoidable with stationary traffic waiting to turn into WTA.
  20. A465/A49 southbound opposite Asda centre lane 3, two drains offset from one another.
  21. Let's face it, HC have no money, BB can't be bothered and Highways Agency pass it back to local authorities; so we have Bob's cousin, No Hope!!! I have started this thread to make us all aware in advance of the potentially dangerous situations of potholes on our roads. Keeping us safer, unnecessary repairs and avoiding them where possible. Most if not all would have been reported to HC directly anyway. Please post locations and position i.e. nearside, centre, offside. Photos if possible (not if you're driving). Only edit post with FIXED when appropriate. Pease do not digress.
  22. Yes but it's not been tested to bs:en1234 standards has it!! That makes all the difference, so it's safe for kids to use. Of course every single spring has been tested and not just a random selection from the production line....... you're better off getting a truck spring - bit more give! Don't forget to add the £300 labour fitting charge too then the maintenance schedule...of course we are all stupid - that's what makes the world go round! If we all had common sense the world would be a more sensible place. ITS STILL BROKE BTW
