  1. Having driven down that new road, it’s very narrow! If I was to ride my bike down there on the road I’ll be in the middle, I wouldn’t trust other motorists to give me room to breathe!! But I’m confused as to whether the path is dual purpose or not? It seems wide enough for multiple occupancy.
  2. They even issue tickets to staff with permits! One employee lined them up on the dashboard with a note “Take it up with the management†It was a Lamborghini or Ferrari and targeted.

  4. After less than a year, the doors have closed - due to unforeseen circumstances....... A big blow for the staff and in general for the city of Hereford. This was much needed and well used by folk far and wide It appears they closed unexpectedly and didn’t pay staff, return any outstanding membership fees and Christmas vouchers. No contact has be made with either NICK HAMES or his missus - both co-owners. No further information.
  5. De Koffe Pot is always a good bet. Usually have a band or artist on.
  6. This reminds me of a unit that was rented out down Rotherwas years ago. Cost about £250 a week. Got abandoned after a week! When opened by owner it was stacked wall to ceiling door to door with old useless tyres!! Cost about £10k to dispose of them!! No one saw a thing!!!
  7. If this is going to be anything like Bristol’s or Gloucester’s then that’s fantastic. Such good fun for all ages and great for fitness. Keep the price reasonable and having been to both, the safety brief is not included in the session times, hence arriving early. http://www.airhop-bristol.com/prices-2/ http://xjump.uk/ It’s about time Hereford has more family stuff like this. The Core & The Send are doing well, after battling so many hurdles with the ancient authorities that be! So it goes to show that it is needed and used.
  8. I can now see why they cycle on footpaths. They shouldn't though. With the recent white spell, Ive been forced to cycle on the main roads to the Hospital/ station from Belmont, as the main cycle route GWW was severed, and still not gritted! Glad I’m still here! The majority of drivers are courteous but there are a few with the you're not passing me - get off the road bloody Mentalities. And please do feel free to explain why I cant use the lanes correctly as a motorist does, when I am considerably faster than the moving traffic? I also drive when necessary btw! Go on snow and ice do one so I feel safe on two wheels once again!!!
  9. On - but off topic, Aldi are GIVING AWAY crates of fresh food to registered local charities on Christmas Eve. You must register in store. Good for them. A notice posted on social media by Aldi reads: "As our stores will shut at 4pm on Christmas Eve until the 27th of December, we will have a variety of good quality surplus food products that we wish to redistribute in support of less fortunate individuals and to prevent food going to waste. “We are unfortunately unable to deliver products on locally, so it would be essential that your organisation is able to collect. "We will expect the levels of food available to vary, however estimations of around 20-30 crates will be expected from each store.
  10. They were out in force on Sunday. Clearing the windscreen of snow to slap a ticket on! Same at the hospital too!! Shameful
  11. Lots of free mistletoe from fallen branches along side the train tracks at the back of Grosmont grove. Do not underestimate the weight of snow. Even more trees and stuff to come down I guess with the freezing temperatures. Even the snow hurts when it falls from the tree onto ones head!
  12. COMMON SENSE AINT THAT COMMON ANY MORE! Adamski- consideration and courtesy works both ways and costs nothing. But still there are muppets who do not know how to use a cycle lane or shared path. There are many pedestrians and cyclists who do. But the uneducated ones have no hope. Ive given up counting how many ride without lights or highviz both on road paths and shared....... a stick through the spokes🤬 Let’s make it clear - it’s exactly the same as driving on the road; keep to the left and pass on the right. Simple.
  13. I’m with you on that Maggie. It’s also becoming a shoutfest along the GWW. On the upside more folk are using it - just not politely! As bycyclists we are expected to mount the grass in order to pass pedestrians 3/4 abreast with no intentions of changing their path.....
  14. AS PER TOPIC. Today whilst taking the hound out for his obligatory marathon, I came across an awful stench at The Haywood Park carpark off waterfield rd. Unfortunately Maximus found it before I did and began to roll around in it. Not listening to his master he would not come so I went to him. I can only say that I believe it was a well dead large eel or fishlike. I didn’t fancy inspecting it further but there was also something fishy in an Asda bag in situ too. It took two baths for max and a shower for me to eliminate the odour. The house took all afternoon to air and was bloody freezing. Clearly this has been caught in the lakes and dumped by someone , less than 5m away from a bin and dogbin!!! I doubt my mutt was the only fragrant one up there today. I shall definitely keep him on the lead near there tomorrow just to be sure.
  15. Ooh look what I’ve started! I was merely a little peeved that I couldn’t get off my driveway, and my road is a holding ground along with Lacey Way and Kilvert Road. Well residents took action individually and stopped traffic from blocking their drives. This in turn has payed off and now we are back to the usual rat running. We just need to slow them down now! Oh and it wasn’t me who mentioned roadworks, I was quoting!! yep turn them bloody Asda lights off!!

    Droning

No! That is too sensible for our councils. Plus it’ll put a dent in someones backhander.
  17. That’d look nice on a canvas. Start selling it bill. I’ll split the profit with you 70/30! 🤪

    Droning

Ragwort - surprisingly easy! You can even map a route and set it off on its travels stopping it on route to admire the view. This is where the law comes into play, the caa state that a drone must be in line of sight at all times, however with mapped routes this is not possible. As a user myself, and with 3 over the proposed 250g limit I will have to take an awareness test. I am already a registered user. However DJI already have geofencing and it is only as good as the user, if you know what to do this can be tinkered with, as well as altitude lock etc!! I have a different FC which I need to program and upgrade. One early errors or bugs embedded in the code was in the gps coordinates of return to home, this inturn transpired to be the middle of the Pacific or Atlantic!! Not much good to me in sunny southside! This is where user intervention is required to manually fly back to base and why they should all be flown line of sight. Another is POV flying (goggles on) where you must have a spotter to visualise the vehicle at all times. But in layman’s terms DJI is the APPLE of drones - plug & play. If one does happen to appear over your land - poke it with a long stick or the like. They don’t fly with a bust prop! 😜
  19. Love the way they’ve incorporated “the old bill†into the transport hub!! 🤭
  20. Thankyou Glenda. You beat me to it! Slim you’re lucky 🤨 Mick- I travel south towards Madley therefore not wishing to join the que, merely exit my driveway. I am now however going to park on the road before the traffic builds upon the morning. They’ll just have to manoeuvre around my vehicle. It’s just not on.
  21. I’ve also received a reply from the councillor. His explanation totally missed the point and stated that the issue is caused by the roadworks on Belmont Road!! I’ll post it later.
