  1. Belmont, I only had 2 papers, 1 white, 1 yellow ?
  2. Hmm, I thought there were only 2 votes? I voted for IOC local councillor and my vote for the general election, I did not see a 3rd?
  3. I believe Hereford has a total of about 8 dustcarts, so this will make very little difference, besides with an eastern bypass they would go straight from Rotherwas no doubt, so there would be no impact on the city traffic.
  4. Thank you for responding it is appreciated and good luck in the election.
  5. Yes give the local young people a place to enjoy, good idea.
  6. Welcome David to HV, are you sure this is private land? I thought it was a public footpath?
  7. I was going to buy you a pint and a curry this week too. I won't offer again ha ha, seriously though, good luck with your campaign Chris, keep up all the good work that you do.
  8. He will get nowhere because everyone is entitled to their opinion especially when the statements made are true. He will end up embarrassing himself and the party that he represents, tbh he is doing that now, I cannot believe that he is actually going up against another councillor in the same ward, whats that all about, they risk losing both! I have the utmost respect for all of those councillors who are active and communicating to their constants through HV and social media, such as Chris Chappell, Robert Preece, Glenda Powell, Adrian Bridges, Jim Kenyon, Jon Norris, Ken Baynham, and Mark Hubbard to name just a few that I have seen contributing and advising members. So are more active than others, nevertheless, its good to see that these councillors are in the 21st century. I overheard Cllr Edwards slagging off HV some years back, he was talking to someone else at the time and I think he under estimated how big this website would become. People do not want a edited letters page, they want live interactive discussions and this is exactly the vehicle that Colin has provided with HV. Keep up the great work and do not be intimadated or bullied with threats of so called legal action, if someone want to waste their money let them carry on, unless of course they expect to be funded, that will be the next thing.
  9. Oh no, we are all in it now, I will order myself a panic button too and keep it by the door ready.
  10. This is a nice refreshing project and I am in full support. We would need to look at costs obviously but I think if your going to do it then lets do it properly! Don't mess around with little people cars a proper tram system is what is required, it works in cities all across Europe big and small and there is no reason why it could not work here. This council is spending millions on new offices and so called relief roads, this would be a fraction of any of those costs and a massive benefit to the city. Modern trams like the ones in the photographs at the start of this debate are very eco friendly and silent too. They are made with lightweight materials but can also carry mobility scooters in the back carriage giving easy access for disabled people too. I am pleased to see such a positive response, lets keep it that way and get this off the ground. I like Cllr. Chappell's idea of approaching Bulmers as sponsors and the exhibition idea is sensible one too.
  11. Good advert in the HT, must of cost an arm and a leg.
  12. It is wonderful to see such a positive reaction to a very simple but very clever idea. I think Colin has hit the nail on the head with this one. A super solution and nothing to knock down to make this a reality either the road is already there, win win as far as I can see. This could be linked to a mini station at the back of the Theatre somewhere to serve the OLM and again end at the train station to serve the town centre. It could even be linked to Rotherwas and the Enterprize Zone. This would take a huge amount of traffic off those main roads south of the river. This has my vote big time!
  13. It's a nightclub so this all sounds acceptable to me.
  14. I have always been surprised at car park charges at shopping centres, totally different attitudes in Europe. Parking should be provided free is you have spent money at the centre even if that is just having a coffee, they should be encouraging customers to the centre. Limit free parking to 2 or 3 hours then apply charges to stop people taking the micky.
  15. Dear smartieno1, I know you directed your response to H.Wilson but I would just like to add my view and that is I think long term wheelie bins have to save money. I was spending on average just under £3.50 every couple of months on black bags, yes you can buy cheaper bags but from my experience you only get what you pay for and the cheaper one often split. You can buy a wheelie for less than £30 and I would of thought the the council would of bought them considerably cheaper for bulk, so these bins will pay for themselves in no time. Issues of blocking pavements is a problem hat i believe needs addressing however, this is the same problem that existed with black bags only birds cant damage the bins in the same way as they did with bags, before the bins were introduced we used to have rubbish and waste food on the pavement because of birds and cats breaking the bags open.
  16. I was shocked at the atrocities I watched yesterday but today I am appalled to read this Phil, surprised at you for falling for this rubbish, I really am. This is the sort of crap that other weirdo David Icke would say.
  17. These are Rank Taxis? What can the Police do? This is a classic pass the buck if ever I saw one.
  18. I too agree, name and shame them, a letter to the HT is a good idea too.
  19. Difficult decision to pull a topic but I think in this case it was the right decision. Colin you are a good man and a sensible editor too, common sense prevailed, well done my friend.
  20. I cannot believe that there are no cash points in the new shopping centre, how strange or was this an oversight I wonder.
  21. Alex, you will not get slammed by me because I am 100% of the same opinion, it is no wonder there are so many empty shops they should of knocked it down in the first place, we mights have a River Island or some other shops with apartments above open and trading by now, how many years is it?
