  1. No different to the rest of the UK. We used to be an isolated backwards place and that was herefords charm. Now we're just like everywhere else.
  2. When are the NIMBYS going to stop being so selfish.

FYI its not called "The" Ukraine (The Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic) anymore. Hasn't been since the break up of the USSR. Worrying times indeed, I can see Ukraine breaking in 2 like Ireland and Norther Ireland did.

I'm certainly not advocating we embrace a soviet style communist dictatorship. I'm looking for democratic socialism like we have at the e.u or the green party here in the UK. The problem I have with the way things are in the u.k is not just the polititions but UK corporations and the people who manage them, think companies like b.t who make huge profits from us and still demand public subsidies from the tax payers and the pay their directors millions. Think bankers and their bonuses. This country is a playground for the rich and it has to change, if the eu will bring about this change, so be it, if you think the EU is bad for the working people with little power and money then you may have been influenced by Tory propaganda.
  5. Fair enough, it didn't work, nice try. But why isn't someone standing up and saying sorry, I messed up?

If the EU seeks to bring communism to Europe, good, I'm all for it! I for one am sick and tired of the uk's brand of crony capitalism, and i think alot of young people feel the same way.
  7. cheeky bastards blaming BT, They dug up and ripped out the BT cable when they pulled down the trees and added the 3rd lane. I did see a new cable going in soon after so that should be working now.
  8. If you do get fibre in your area you still might not be able to get it at your house. Depends how far away you are from your green BT cabinet, more than 1.5km as the cable runs and you can forget it.
  9. Its not just the council, Its all of british industry, there is no such thing as pro-active maintenance anymore. Why spend money fixing something now, wait until it breaks and then fix it. Bean counters are running the country.
  10. I have spotted new fibre cabinets going up in bartestree/lugwardine, marden and weobley. there are probably others around the county so progress is being made.
  11. Really? Edgar Street Grid Close to the centre of Hereford is an area known as Edgar Street Grid, where a major redevelopment of a large area will include a new Canal Basin at its heart. Source: http://www.h-g-canal.org.uk/html/hereford_2.htm
  12. the way i remember it the canal restoration was part of the edgar street grid project which was scrapped shorty after the recession hit in 08 and then reincarnated as hereford futures which no longer included the canal. They tempted us to grant planning permission with the canal and tree lined boulevards linking high town to the train station and then later on stripped it out and just kept the profitable parts.
  13. I know i'm a bit late to the party to reply to this but.. Royal mail no longer belongs to the crown, they flogged it. Turf em out! EDIT: Royal mail still has "code powers" might be a sticking point. Still, surely they knew about this when they were planning this project.
  14. Who else thinks these 2 square units look like nuclear reactor housings?
  15. Are those 4 large square metal panels inserted into openings in the brickwork supposed to resemble windows? If so why have they not used glass in the time honoured fashion?
  16. I would like to add my vote for Hereford Reunited. It reflects the idea that the north and south of the city are essentially cut off from each other for several hours per day by an iron curtain of traffic with no alternative traffic route between north/south. Solving the traffic congestion would indeed re-unite the city.
