  1. According to the HT website, the incident near Grafton this morning was due to trespass, the police were not armed as they were transport police .
  2. I have been reliably informed that at a closed meeting of the CCG on Tuesday one of their staff advised the meeting that AS THEY HAVENT RECIEVED ANY OBJECTION they are considering closing the GP walk-in centre. As both Hereford Voice and my petition combined got 6,556 signatures where their member could say that I don't know. I have contacted the person concerned to ask her to explain what she said, she said she didn't say it. I have got in touch with the HT and Free Radio again, as far as I'm concerned the fight is not over to keep the GP walk-in centre OPEN!!!
  3. twowheelsgood, Charles Nichols has joined the Independents he was out leafleting for them in the recent by-election. I was told this evening that Graham has stepped down because he and his family are going to live in Shropshire in 6 weeks time.
  4. Denise, there was never any love lost between Graham and myself when I was a councillor that said, he was wasting his time trying to de-throne Johnson. What ward are you talking about? what I have heard recently IOC are fighting amongst themselves and one of their councillors have walked the floor and joined the Independents!.
  5. My brother used to be a police officer, and while working in London he had firearm training, but he did not think that every police officer should be armed. When I was a councillor I used to go to Parliament and the police were armed in side the gates before you went through the security twice before you entered the Houses of Parliament building. The latest news update is the police officer was not armed that died, 5 people including the terrorist has died and 40 people have been injured out of those 2 further police officers were injured and in a critical condition. I do not agree myself that all police officers should be armed, that said I am surprised that Hereford has not come under attack as it is always reported that Hereford is the home of the SAS.
  6. Paul Hereford Voice had its own piece on this printed on page 3 of HT. My petitions signatures were collected at Tesco Belmont, Belmont Centre, Belmont chemist and natural health centre, also at Putson post office and Kindle centre. Further signatures were collected yesterday at the Kindle centre, walk-in centre and in Newton farm.
  7. I have made some enquiries from someone living in Sherbourne Close, someone has been taken ill and they could not get them out of the flat.
  8. I attended the consultation about the GP walk-in centre this afternoon and presented both the on-line petition and my paper petition total signatures of 6,556 to the chairman of the CCG, I was disappointed with the attendance only 8 people including myself attended the consultation between 3pm-5pm. There was a very good discussion and 7 out of the 8 people wanted the GP centre to stay. One man picked the CCG up about the consultation papers because their verbal address did not correspond with what was in the printed paperwork given out. I said if they want to sell their idea to the people of Hereford they should have up to date information available that corresponds with their presentation, CCG answer was they are updating their information next week, but I insisted that information should of been available today. Apparently CCG idea is to put the surgery that is in Ross Road, and Taurus into the walk-in centre building, where you can see a Dr providing you make an appointment with the surgery, but you have to be a registered patient. I asked some very awkward questions that they could not give a satisfactory answer to. People said it will not work because people are waiting up to 5 weeks for a doctors appointment at their surgeries and if the GP walk-in centre goes people will just go back to attending A&E with anything between 6 to 12 hour wait before you see a doctor. I was told that councillors were going to attend the consultation tonight, let us see their response if any to the CCG proposals. I wait with interest at any comments.
  9. As I have said and twowheelsgood has also stated this was discussed in another thread, these signs were put up without waiting for planning approval and has never been told to be removed. As I said previously it does help that 3 or 5 of the Conservatives are from this church, and also on the planning committee. planning rules have been changed in the past three years a councillor (or councillors) can now speak for up to three minutes on their own application but cannot vote on the application, but their words can be influential to their own political group, and as more Conservative councillors sit on the planning committee I had seen things that should not have been passed voted for, because the Conservatives have the majority vote.
  10. colin, thank you can you put the petition through my letterbox, you know where I live. Not sure whether to go to the meeting at Kindle in the afternoon or evening slot. I want to take the HT with me, and for them to print it in the paper, so that the CCG can't say they never received the petitions. Glenda.
  11. I had exactly the same experience, and when I went back to the shop I bought it from they didn't want to know.
  12. I will be attending the meeting at the Kindle Centre and will present my petition to the chairman of the CCG at the same time.
  13. Mike, you may or may not know this but Taurus is on the cards to be closed as well, so where else could the people of Herefordshire go other than A&E if the walk-in centre closes? This is all being proposed because the CCG (Care commissioning Group) want doctors surgery's open 7-days a week, most surgeries you have to wait at least 3 weeks to get an appointment, doctors are leaving because of the hours they work now, and GP recruitment is very bad nobody wants to take up the vacancies!
  14. Colin, thank you for putting this back up after our conversation today. I was in Tesco Belmont today with a paper petition to stop the GP walk-in centre being closed and got nearly 200 signatures on my petition, bring the total so far with others I have received to 3,096. If anyone wishes to sign my petition I will be in Tesco Belmont again on Saturday18 February between 10am to 2pm.
  15. Sorry to disagree with everyone's comments but I have signed the petition , Donald Trump is dangerous!!! What I read in the press today he is not popular with the Royal family.
  16. It will go through at the planning committee, half of which are Tory councillors. also Herefordshire Housing bought the site last year, can not find out how much they paid for it yet but I know someone in the know.
  17. Attitudes must of changed on two accounts which shows the mess the NHS and Hereford Hospital is in because: When I worked at the hospital if a ward is closed with Norovirus or the like it does not put incoming patients on that ward, it is just spreading the infection because the incoming patients would catch it. If it was one isolated case the patient with Norovirus would be isolated in a single room. Like I was a few years ago. who are the "we" you refer to?
  18. Well said Slim, you obviously hurt his ego !!!
  19. DILIGAF, Thought your reply was a little sharp, The 3 wards only closed apparently yesterday therefore that would impact on A&E!!!
  20. I have just received a phone call from a friend who is a patient in Hereford Hospital she tells me 3 wards have been closed today Frome, Wye and Arrow (the Cardiac ward) due to Norovirus..
  21. So disappointed if this is true, I used to go in there 2-3 times a week when I was in town shopping. The café was there for many, many years when I was a child. I remember going there with my Mum, Brother and sister, we go to the Odeon cinema and then have a meal there before going to the Ritz cinema every week! Those were the days !!!.Colin can you put up a link to the facebook page please, Glenda
  22. I had two trips to Hereford County hospital between Christmas and New Years Eve due to a fall on ice, I waited 5 hours to be seen by a doctor on the first visit where I sustained broken wrist and bruising, my second visit I could not breathe but waited from 6.45pm until midnight before I was seen, I waited 90 minutes for an chest xray to be told I also had 3 cracked ribs. I was sat in a wheelchair from 6.45pm until 2.30am in a corridor next to A&E along with 10 other people, at that time I was told there were no beds so I had to come home via taxi. it was total chaos in A&E due to people waiting to be seen and people waiting for beds on wards. I could not fault the Ambulance service who arrive within 15 minutes of being called each time.
  23. Having just spoken to HHL Oval Development officer this morning I was advised they are looking at 6 options for the toilet site, People have approached them for shops ( not KFC which is a pity). The officer has told me they will keep me advised as to when the application will be going to the planning Dept of Herefordshire Council when they have decided what is to be built on the site.
  24. Six years ago when the development started it was to be completed August 2017. About a year ago they were six months behind because according to the Building manager that was because HHL kept changing their mind and had totally ignored the development layout that made the builders confused as to what they were doing and where on the site. There are more houses across the road from me than was allowed for and they are privately owned. Then of course the two blocks of flats were not on the original planning application that was passed. Every single house, flat and bungalow has had trouble with them internally, and at one point houses had been built and the services had not been installed so they had to build a 8ft trench around them to put the services in, otherwise they would have had to pull the houses back down, then the gardens were sinking so I am not surprised that they are behind. All these houses were built by government funding which HHL will not get again. I do know that while I was still the Cllr about 4 years ago the builders were so fed up they were contemplating down tools on the build. There are more houses to buy than social renting, which was not the main aim, because most of the people living in the flats at the time were moved away, some went out in the country because there was not enough social housing on the site. As the Cllr for newton Farm I had fortnightly meetings with the builders to be kept informed as to what was going on.
  25. No Bobby I wouldn't have stooped so low to put an election sign on the toilets, pity nobody have seen Phil Edwards since, he's getting nearly £7.500 a year and not representing the people so people keep telling me. Getting back to the post the Chinese man was going to build a three story establishment consisting of Chinese takeaway and restaurant on the ground floor with living accommodation above. I know HHL wanted to buy the site for the last four years but the Chinese man wanted £1.2 million for it. As I said previously I will asked the builders and HHL tomorrow what's being built there.
