  1. Sorry but this is not an argument as it is in the city centre and I could put a map up for any city centre showing similar statistics. Sounds like you agree with the curfew Roger?
  2. Roger, I work and have worked as security on a few of the pubs and clubs in the city for over 15 years. We are all adults and should behave accordingly, it is virtually impossible to refuse to serve people (although it does happen) simply because the person buying drinks is usually the more sober one as clearly if they were off their head they would not be served but most people react differently once they get out into the fresh air. But on the flip side of that, why can't young people get drunk and have a good time? Most work hard all week and look forward to their weekends. We are only talking about the few idiots here most people in my experiennce are well behaved. I was in the city last weekend, we came out of the club and when you have had a good night out you usually end up starving, looking forward to a takeaway to take home and everywhere was closed at 1.30am what a joke! It's no wonder people choose to avoid Hereford and go to other towns, it's like a ghost town both during the day and at night! However, Tesco's is open 24 hours so you can go there for food or the sandwich bar in Commercial Road, or the 24/7 garage and there is also Subway, so it's got nothing to do with people hanging around town in my opinion, becasue they use these places. I would of understood this had they of implimented it when the clubs all closed at 1am and loads of people would pile out at the same time, this is when there used to be trouble, but now since the relaxations of licensing laws people tend to leave the clubs at various times, so now there is no mass crown 'so to speak' so this stupid curfew is not required.
  3. Class answer ha ha unreal Roger they really are
  4. Frank they cut off this post but have left the other 3 posts which are less than 30 metres apart from each other? There is also a large broken branch near this post which as you can see has just been left for months without anyone removing it.
  5. What the hell is wrong with Amey? Are they not capable of getting anything right? more importantly making things SAFE! Apparently they have informed Cllr Powell that the dead posts are not hazardous... Then we were told Then we were told Cllr Powell has also been informed that 5 posts from the GWW have been removed, well guess what? Only 1 post has been 'so called' removed but actually as you will see in the following images the 'non hazardous post' has now become extremely dangerous! As usual Amateur Amey are clearly not capable of doing this job properly, instead of REMOVING the post as you would expect, they have merely taken an angle grinder and cut it off near the base, which has now left a sharp dangerous piece of metal as you can see
  6. This is good news, did they eventually remove those weeds at The Oval?
  7. Oh look we have found another post and this one is not dangerous either for cyclists so can it be removed sometime within the next year with the others please... This one is on the footpath across Haywood Country Park
  8. I have already completed the questionnaire and added my comments at the bottom about turning off the lights at the bottom of Belmont Road (Asda Junction - Where the A465 meets the A49) I will also pop in this week and express the same.
  9. I have been asking for these traffic lights at the bottom of the Belmont Road to be turned off forever! The cases above just highlight that traffic flows much better when the traffic lights are turned off. I really do not understand WHY the Council have not at least had a trial for a few months at the very least.
  10. I wish someone would authorise somebody to turn off the traffic lights at the Asda junction! The traffic lights are not working today and guess what... NO LIGHTS = NO TRAFFIC! Turn them off permanently! I took these pictures at 8.40am this morning.
  11. This was the first post on this subject way back in February How can they say these are not dangerous? It was only a week or so back that they said that they did not know where they were... If someone hurts themselves I will be the first to highlight this topic too the Hereford Times, infact I may just write to them anyway as come January it will be almost a year since they were first told about it
  12. Noticed another today on Waterfield Road just past Argyll Rise, how many dead posts now?
  13. What a stupid idea! You go out, you drink and dance then guess what YOU ARE HUNGRY! Chippy and any other takeaways rely on this trade, now people leave clubs and bars at different times as stated above, so now there is just a steady flow of people, it's a joke that you cannot get something to eat!
  14. How pathetic that you cannot buy hot food in Hereford after 1.30am! This stupid idea of Hereford Council I assume is designed to prevent a build up of people coming out of nightclubs...well guess what? It does not work! Because now people que at the sandwich bar in Commercial Road or in the 24 hour garage. So why can we not buy hot food? It's no wonder many people think the nightlife and everything else is so poor and choose to avoid Hereford altogether! This Council needs to have a rethink and get into the 21st Century! Hereford is becoming like a ghost town both during the day and night! I have written to the Hereford Times expressing my opinion and quite a lot of other locals too
  15. I also took it upon myself to wash this sign as it was green with Algi, again, do these signs never get cleaned? look how much better and visable it is now, it tooks me 30 seconds to do.
  16. This is the view coming from the A465 down into Haywood Lane
  17. As a daily user of Haywood Lane, I have been concenced for sometime at the lack of warning signs about Ducks and Swans crossing the road between the Belmont Pools, So I was delighted to here that some New signs had been installed... Please forgive me for complaining but they are useless in their current position! This is the view travelling from the Callow towards Belmont, I am now driving at a legal spped of 40mph and less than 20 metres from where the pools are...Can you see the sign yet? Ok, now lets get really close and move my position over to the opposite lane and yippee!! now you can see the sign Too late they are all dead !! First of all, you DO NOT see these signs until you are on top of them (so can someone please explain how do these serve as a good warning in order to slow drivers down?) and secondly they are far far too close to the pools and where these animals cross the road. Driving at the legal speed limit, stopping distance at 40mph is 30 metres (120ft) which makes these signs USELESS as they are much much closer than that and I am assuming that drivers are within the speed limit which more often than not they are not! Why are these simple mathamatics not put into practice prior to any insallation?
  18. So have the weeds now been cut down?
  19. To be fair, Councillor Edwards has just called on me and agree's that the standard of work on this footpath is not good. He has also pointed out that it is not complete. I have discussed several issues with him including dead posts and grass cutting and he has told me that sometimes up to 5 requests are submitted before things finally get done, which he say's from a Councillors point of view is very frustrating, he says that other Councillors also have the same problems in trying to get work done. Clearly Amey need to improve their standards if they expect to win the Council's contract back!
  20. The New Maps have now been added to the notice boards
  21. Colin James

    WEEDS!

I was at the post office early this morning and noticed these WEEDS! I have no words... How tall? how long they been here? What I find very strange is that thousands of pounds of public money is spent on 'Brand New Shiny Notice Boards' (That I am sure nobody reads) yet, within only 4 metres of one of these notice boards we have MASSIVE weeds that nobody has botherd to have removed? Hmmm oh well, maybe it's just me...
  22. Glenda, I have to inform you that Amey are telling you a pack of lies! NONE of the posts have been removed!!! I took these pictures less than an hour ago. ALL of the other posts are still there, that's the ones in Newton Farm, St Martins and Belmont Road. So NOT ONE HAS BEEN REMOVED!
  23. I have to concur with Mick, this new footpath is very poor and yes I think you will find that this is what Amey consider FINISHED. It looks incomplete to me, I took a few pictures you make up your own minds. The picture on the left is during the works and the picture on the right, believe it or not but is the finished article, I took this 30 mins ago. The people who own the garage in one of the pictures I would imagine will not be too happy as the mud has just been built up causing a slope away from the path but in the direction of their garage, I expect this to flood at some point... As Mick has pointed out, why is it not tarmac? this is a horrible finish, this took them 3 days! hence why it looks that way. This joins the existing tarmac path, so looks incomplete. Why oh why don't jobs/projects get done properly?????
  24. Glenda, I have been told that there will be no lights installed?
