  1. Hereford Assault - Police Release E-Fit Police have released an e-fit image of a man who is believed to have carried out an unprovoked attack on a dog walker in Hereford. The 30-year-old male victim was walking his two husky dogs along the riverside footpath that leads from the Bishop’s Meadows to Peregrine Close in Hinton when he was attacked from behind with some kind of object between 6.30pm and 7.35pm on Tuesday, May 8. He fought back, but was headbutted several times in the face, sustaining cuts and bruises. The suspect is described as being white, about six feet tall and aged between 20 and 30. Police are keen to speak to any witnesses, in particular a man who was walking a brown Staffordshire bull terrier who passed by at the time. Anyone with information can call police on Hereford CID on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 0604-s-080512 or crimestoppers
  2. I have added my thoughts. FREE? nothing in life is free so who is really paying for this?
  3. I thought all the windows were changed a few years back to UPVC?
  4. Well the first reply from Cllr Powell was February 11th then we had this reply on March 19th 2012 It is now the 6th of May and to date none of the posts have been removed as far as I am aware
  5. I noticed all 5 of these along the Belmont Road and this is only between the turning for Hunderton Road and Belmont Avenue. So far just in this discussion we have found 18 dead posts in and around the Belmont Ward and 2 others at St Martins and Hinton, is this a lot or is it just me? Why were these not removed when they became redundant? this is a poor standard I think. What really surprises me is that the first ones were reported over 2 months ago, where a cyclists had hurt himself and it's still there!
  6. Here are a few from St Martins and Putson This first one is along Hinton Road This one is just outside the funeral directors
  7. Here are a few from St Martins and Putson This first one is along Hinton Road This one is just outside the funeral directors
  8. I am surprised that the Councillors have not followed this up.
  9. I found a few more of these mysterious posts, these first two are obviously on the Great Western Way
  10. That last one on the right looks rusty and dangerous to me. I cannot believe how these have all just been left, well Councillor Powell contacted Amey on February the 11th so lets see how quickly they respond to her request.
  11. Thinking about my long trip down the Belmont Road and all that traffic...

  12. Some really nice pictures you have taken there. Your reputation I have given a plus and also rated the topic, thank you
  13. Here are the rest of the images that megilleland took
  14. Busy updating the website

  15. I agree with Bill on this one, the traffic problems in this city are the councils failings and should NOT have bearing on planning applications or certainly not be the deciding factor. I have read thru the couple of objections, these are brilliant "They park here to miss queuing at lights and roundabout that's always busy"? again, traffic problems being raised! nothing to do with the store itself, this is the terrible traffic lights that CLEARLY DO NOT WORK! I love the part about high town shop workers parking because they do not have to pay...again, this is about the councils pathetic car parking facilities (or lack of) and parking prices, nothing to do with objecting to this particular application (Traffic issue number 2) I fail to see how this will add to the traffic congestion as you would be exiting the site. I like this comment "the junction already looks unattractive to those arriving in the city from the south and a petrol station on the junction will make it even worse" This complainant should read this topic View coming into Hereford if they are concerned on how the city appears to visitors from the south. And this is the best one! "though the junction works smoothly" What planet are they on? then they go on to say within the same sentence "the already heavy congestion here will certainly be made worse by the additional traffic by the planned filling station" so is is working smoothly or is it congested? I think the answer is already there, again, traffic issue (number 3) Competition is healthy and having another filing station will help to drive down prices at the pumps locally. Have a read of this recent article; David Malone questions price of petrol in Hereford 12:00pm Saturday 3rd December 2011 I HAVE recently been to Surrey where fuel is at the same price as Hereford, and also to Nottingham where fuel was a full 6p per litre cheaper than in Hereford. We are not on stockbroker belt wages in Hereford so why are petrol prices comparable to the south east? There seems to be little or no competition when it comes to prices, so perhaps an Asda or Morrisons fuel station, or preferably both, is needed. This is one of the most unfair features of living in this county. DAVID MALONE, Barroll Street, Hereford. Comments... david000 says... 12:57pm Thu 8 Dec 11 Totally agree the majority live out in the country and cost a fare wack just to drive into the town to get to work, people are thinking twice about going out and all this does is have a knock on effect, if people don't get in there cars and go places they will not be spending money in shops, bring the fuel down will get people out and about!!!! This is an interesting read from December 2003; What should happen next over the Asda proposals? and Bottom line is this application should not be refused because of this council's lack in dealing with this city's traffic issues, that would be unfair. The council need to sort out this traffic problem properly, it has been going on for years! they need to turn this junction back into a proper roundabout and get rid of the pathetic traffic light system that obviously is a hindrance rather than an aid. Asda's application I do not feel would make any difference to the traffic, and their application should be based on if there was not a traffic problem...because if the council's planning departments had got it right in the beginning Asda would not have the objections that they are getting now.
  16. Asda have Submitted a planning application for petrol station, should planning be approved it would be the County's first credit card only filling station with no shop or paying counter. So will they open the small road coming from the store as part of the conditions? also they should be asked to contribute towards helping the on going traffic problems, like paying to have the lights turned off!
  17. They do not seem to be keen at all and I can see why to be fair. Car Park should be around the other side (Haywood Lane). I am surprised that they have even come up with this current location proposal!
  18. Glenda I posted that last May! ha ha but thanks for the reply
  19. Glenda, I asked the Pc at the meeting last year (You were absent) if I could have BV advertised in all of the PC notice boards. I had the sheets with me, I was told it would not be a problem, then Adrian offered to laminate my advertising sheets of paper that I handed to him prior to putting them into the notice boards as this would stop them getting damaged, but so far, only the one has been put up. You were not present at that meeting to be fair, so that is why you probably are unaware. I will email Adrian to remind him.
  20. Well I thought at that time that you said that they were looking at new ones? because I asked if I repaired it could I use it. So can we ask them if they are going to be repaired and used, if not, they need to be taken down as they look a mess. There is also one near the Palace Fish Bar at Hunderton
  21. I cannot believe that we have three notice boards within yards of each other, It will be another 18 months until the blue one is removed, that's if they bother at all. I agree with victor it's a waste of our money again and yes this money should of gone to developing much more important issues like the traffic system on the Belmont Road. Here is one of the new ones Well maybe they will place one of my posters advertising Belmont Voice within these notice boards. I was offered by Adrian that the ones I left at one of the meetings last year he would be laminated and place in all the parish notice boards, so far only the notice board at North Holme has one within.
  22. I was referring to the old blue South Wye Notice Boards.
  23. I thought there was a notice about new notice boards in the window going back over 18 months ago in this post here?
  24. Thank you for your reply Glenda. Lets see how long this one takes them.
