  1. What a pleasant suprise to see Amey pull up this morning and start cutting back the tree's and brambles on the green at the bottom of Glastonbury Close.
  2. Yes Frank I always wash my items. I do everything that is says on the stickers provided but I know what you mean, I see people putting Tesco bags inside, which is polythene, some people don't read I guess. Just creates more work for the recycling plant. Good subject though.
  3. Your welcome, and I don't like being fobbed off as you can see :Winking_32:
  4. Well I telephoned Justine last Friday to ask for an update and she told me that she had not yet heard back from the DOT...she was going to call them and call me on Monday with an update, it is now Friday and I have heard nothing again, great eh So I will call her again on Monday.
  5. I called Hereford Housing this morning at 9.30am and attempted to contact Mr Peter Brown (CE) I was informed that he is away until Thursday, I was told that the person that I needed to speak with was Paula Kennedy, so I left a message for her to please return my call. By 3pm this afternoon nobody had come back to me, so I telephoned again. I was informed that they were working out the costs for The Oval and to expect a phone call. I have just received a phone call from Mr Paul Morey who informs me, that the full cost for the painting of The Oval is £26,500 inc VAT.
  6. Mmmm Ross Tree Services came today to clear up the mess, but now we have gained an old Christmas tree...it is not the best of clearing up jobs that I have seen, I think I could of done better, still, I suppose it's better than it was but not quite as it should be in my opinion.
  7. Excellent, thank you Craig, really appreciated.
  8. Good news Craig Sandman contacted me this morning, He and his colleague Joanna Lindsay-Jones called on the colprit yesterday and after they were given some story, he gave the resident 10 days in order to get it cleaned up. Thank you Craig Now we should see something happen, I will let you all know once it's how cleared.
  9. I met Craig Sandman and Joanna Lindsay-Jones here today, they had a look at the furs tree's that have been dumped. They took some pictures and then left to call on the persons house to ask some questions. We will have an update shortly.
  10. Well I have not heard a thing more about this from anyone. Justine said that she had emailed the DOT but they can take up to 2 months to reply, that was back in March, we are now in September, so 6 months have passed, I will give her a call now and try and find out what's happening.
  11. Mmm we are now 15 months down the line (no pun intended lol) and this is how it all looks today does not look that much different to me, what do you think?
  12. BRPC Annual Report 2011 Annual Meeting May 11 Minutes.pdf
  13. I reported the fly tipping that has happened in Glastonbury Close, when I was in town this morning with Craig Sandman (Team Leader - Community Protection Team) because nothing has been done about it yet. The house in question is number 3 Golden Post, which is next door to the person from last year.
  14. Cllr Powell did mention to me a week or so ago, that our fly tipper had dumped a whole load of fur tree's in the same place as last year and that someone was going around to discuss pressing charges this time, only nobody was home when they called the other week. I was a little surprised that Amey did not take this away with them the other while they were on site and send the culprit the bill, as it is all still there! and looks a right mess!! see below; I am not sure that it is the same person, I actually believe it could be his immediate next door neighbour but Cllr Powell should have a record of which house/person was warned last year. So what's happening about this?? as it seems that they get a visit and if nobody is home that's it?
  15. I think so, if not it is definitely next door, but all the tree branches are still there I see
  16. I saw Cllr Powell here just after I took the above picture, and I explained that although Amey were cutting back weeds and bushes etc, they had not yet tackled the stumps, Cllr Powell informs me, that now, they are not sure if McDonalds own the land where the stumps are located and that the foundry is in the centre of the Newton Brook, and that they need to contact McDonalds to either instruct them to cut down the stumps or Amey will complete the work and invoice McDonalds, which sounds fine, ( I just knew that this would not be done today) I am just confused why this work was carried out last year by Amey, so did they not investigate who actually owns the land back then? Anyway, I have arrived home from work, and was pleaseantly surprised, that at least what they have done, was done well in all fairness. (with exception to the stumps not being removed). That said, Cllr Powell did mention to me a week or so ago, that our fly tipper had dumped a whole load of fur tree's in the same place as last year and that someone was going around to discuss pressing charges this time, only nobody was home when they called the other week. I was a little surprised that Amey did not take this away with them today while they were on site and send the culprit the bill, as it is all still there, and looks a right mess!! see below;
  17. Liz has kindly sent me the most recent approved PC minutes from the meeting held of June 30th 2011. I have asked her if she would kindly forward me the more recent ones once they have been approved. June 11 Minutes.pdf
  18. Well, it is now 10.15am and all that they have done so far is cut the grass and some of the weeds, this picture was taken at 10am
  19. I am please as they are here today, so lets hope they do a good job. Quick though
  20. I am more than happy for all publications to b posted on BV so that the local members can read it.
  21. This is even worse (unless they are coming back) not only have they painted The Oval a vile colour they have not finished the job, they have only done the fronts? And this garage block has not been painted at all?? surely this is not the finished product? please please tell me that this is not how they want it to look?
  22. This is a perfect response.
  23. This is a totally separate subject, please keep to the topic in hand or if you would like to discuss The Oval in general, please feel free to start your own new topic.
  24. Well funny that you have asked that question as they normally come about 4 times a year, they actually came today which was a laugh, a young girl on her own carrying a large petrol strummer, talk about struggling with it, to be honest the way she has cut the grass edges was a waste of time, I actually filmed her but the battery died on me before it completed, but if I tell you from the second she arrived in the close to the time she left was definitely no more than 10 mins. Here is how she thought strimming grass should look once the task is completed...
