I am very saddened to learn that SAS hero and legend John "Brummie' Stokes has died.

ONE of the most famous members of Hereford's SAS regiment has died.

John 'Brummie' Stokes helped to make the elite unit famous on an international scale after climbing Everest in the 1970s.

The soldier, who received an MBE, was also well known for his work with the Taste for Adventure centre in Credenhill

RIP Brummie.

Had the pleasure of TFAC week with B&B early 90s, both legends and the campfire stories - unbelievable, but believable as it was those two telling them in first person accounts, knowing who they are and what they endured, why would they make a story up?! Always Remembered.
