Not sure there were 70 people there. Maybe so if you include the Play staff and the candidates entourages. I'd count around a dozen non aligned audience. Youth attendance was a little sparse! Murph was brilliant hosting, the sound equipment was unreliable and the candidates gave a good try at electioneering (specially Jesse). Jim Kenyon stood out for me, he gave the impression of being knowledgeable and active for Herefordshire. Before you decide who you want to vote in as our mp take a look at the policies on the websites - "policiesnotparties.com" and "voteforpolicies.org.uk" Incredibly interesting reading.

dippyhippy cheers for that - what a laugh! I've no room for a big black bin - I returned their notification back to them to say as much. No-one replied surprisingly (hahaha). I don't want one either, as I already have a small metal dustbin. I'm just waiting for one to arrive (or not). Will I be forced to have one? Could I wheel it away in the middle of the night and hopefully lose it, if they manage to leave one. Bin wars - love it!!!

I have come to the conclusion the new pedestrian Shared Space crossing arrangements on Newmarket Street are not safe through bitter experience. When crossing with young children to the cinema it is anxiety ridden as the staggered crossing and lack of kerbs or barriers are confusing. No warning is given to vehicle drivers to beware of pedestrians, so drivers may not be as pedestrian friendly as we'd like. As a driver I've noticed the 20mph limit is ignored by many drivers. As a cyclist the narrow lanes and changed priorities, which allow turns onto Widemarsh Street, are difficult to negotiate and complicated. Cars want to pass when the room is not there and keeping safe is a problem. Yesterday I was in the car travelling towards Franklin House and saw a driver do a U turn straight across the pedestrian area between the bike stands! Anyone know if there are any plans to improve it?

Anyone heard feedback from their observations on the fire station public consultation? I haven't had an acknowledgement.

It all makes sense to me now. Well, in an odd way. Cllr Price on ITV a few weeks ago, at the "Old Market" as we all lovingly call it now, saying how the council had provided this new shopping mall and Hereford would now attract business investment, being known for it's security industry and food. ( Yes food?). Hereford Beef maybe but food? Strange. Pat Morgan is now promoting the new (catchily named) Friday Food weekly market in Commercial Road. Bramer has paled up with a chap, Ian Archer, who did Hull's 2017 successful bid for city of Culture, who coincidentally happens to be working at the Courtyard and together they have produced this cockamamy idea. We all know Bramer would have had this idea without the input of his new best mate ( sarcasm). I'd really love it to happen and hope I'm proved wrong but it's beyond ridiculous and just makes me laugh. There's mention of a new quango consortium organisation, (their favourite thing as it's usually a vehicle to hide where the money goes), and the promotion is full of all the sustainable regeneration buzz words "supporting cultural diversity and cohesion, and creating demonstrable economic impact through investment and innovation". What a farce!

Biomech I agree. The cut grass has rotted into clumps and killed the "bottom grass" near me. All that's thriving now are dandelions and weeds. All the money and work put into all the grass areas in the past has been wasted by this stupidity. The dog mess falls into the long grass and becomes a health hazard as people stop picking it up when they can't find it. Went to a local playground with neglected grass and watched the children trying to run through the jungle. They couldn't kick a ball on it either it was so long. Why is this happening months after BB take over? I've read money from Amey? ran out and can't be afforded anymore but I simply don't understand, probably like most others. The contract is with BB and presumably signed off quid pro quo with (hopefully) some professionalism. There must be more to this running down of services than meets the eye as it is utter stupidity and no-one could be that stupid, especially if you are in "the job".

I really regret doling out personal criticism to Cllr Price. Although I didn't ask him to book himself a PR slot on the ITV news today He must be doing his very very best for Herefordshire. Surely there is someone more suitable for the job - now, not in 2015 - I shudder at the prospect of yet another 12 months of this incompetence.

Philip Price interviewed standing by ESG on ITV news Midlands today. How embarrassing. Hereford wants to attract business and has food and security service as the main attraction to businesses, according to Cllr Price. Foodies alert!! Typical! The same old same old food chains attract foodies? Pull the other one! Must be joking! (shaking head) I honestly think he really believes these food chains are something special. He is showing Herefordians up as if we were ignorant country yokels - which we certainly are not. The new chains Nandos etc are welcome here for people who enjoy that kind of choice for eating out, but none of us think they will attract visitors. May as well advertise the two MaccyDs!? Sadly, the ESG looked dull, soul-less and pretty poor on the big screen. The elusive 800 new homes due to be on the site were also mentioned. Introduction explained livestock market moved to Roman Road as it was hard to access for farmers. The ease of access to the new shops and cafes was not touched on.

Having been invited to the "public consultation", I had a sneaky peak and questioned the 3 or 4 nicely turned out boys and the 2 fire officers, one being in charge of the fire station, the other the Herefordshire manager. Notes and plans were posted on the walls of the little building. The information was triplicated over the "exhibition" giving the impression the information supplied was more than it actually was. I was told the displayed Graph, showing a "coloured" map of Hereford was indicative of service incident levels combined with risk assessment areas but I personally was unable to see the "key" to the graphs displayed (maybe the key was absent or very small). It was not at all clear what the Graph displayed. I noticed conclusions were drawn from a survey mentioned on these posters and asked to see the survey. I was told this was not available at the "consultation" day but could be accessed on the Hereford and Worcester fire and rescue service website. The "survey" had no title apart from being mentioned on the posters as the" survey" although it was apparently the vehicle used to come to conclusions for the preferred option shown at the open "consultation". This is extremely poor and confirms to me it's a sham "consultation" only as a box ticking exercise. I couldn't find the survey used to make this important decision on the website, but today the Worcester office emailed a redacted copy to me which I will try to post on this thread. It was a strange and "FUNNY" consultation. There being no actual choices given for the consultation to take part on, only the plans and option chosen by "whoever". I questioned the 5 or 6 people present there but they just backed up and pointed out the components of their choice, rather than giving a real choice or any additional useful information. The fire officers said the current station was not fit for purpose and they had been looking for a new site for years. Training was a problem according to them. I know a little about the fire service in Shropshire where the local fire officers went to Shrewsbury regularly for the more specialist training. The officer said if they went elsewhere for training the engine would not be available for emergencies, so training was needed on the site. It made no sense to me at all. In Shropshire the engines regularly went to be serviced etc. and provision elsewhere was made for these times. Pretty poor management if Hereford can't do it. I asked what the local staff (non managerial) opinions were and was told the staff opinions had been taken into account when the plans were being drawn up - there was no evidence to confirm this on show. Do I believe any one apart from higher managers and some council officers were consulted on this little scheme? - NO, I don't! On the subject of the historical significance and local interest in the Boys Home, I was told the building was not rated by heritage groups, inside had been stripped bare of any original features and the person I spoke to scoffed at my questions. Just a couple of days left to lodge an opinion with the fire service and as said above it will probably make no difference to the plans used to apply for planning permission. Hopefully, when it goes to planning application people will have more of a chance to have opinions taken into account.

Philip Price quotes some Dept. for Transport DfT figures. Those figures appear to have been given high importance. As usual without referencing or giving necessary details to back up the numbers (for instance, what periods of time and when exactly were those counts taken). He may have given the details as addenda to his reply but Colin would have published if so. Last year traffic figures were supplied by the Highways Agency as levels of traffic at the Edgar Street junction and on questioning, they turned out to be the traffic count at another section of road, on the south of the city. Typical that no support is given by the current cabinet to any popular suggestions from outside of their own cabal!! What twisted version of being representatives of the people is that? Brilliant to see positive replies from so many other good councillors.

Stumbled upon the very reason the third lane was really constructed on Edgar Street. Planning department waved it through, as what we want on those particular stretches of road, is more troublesome traffic to add to plenty more congestion (not).

Bobby certainly has no complaints in that direction, despite the close proximity of eyes and the inference other attributes may be too closely set (or not). Personally I have not viewed Bramer in the flesh, have no inclination in that direction and can have no opinion, bereft of the experience happily.

Last night 8.45pm, Newmarket/Blueschool street was shut off and traffic directed down Commercial road from Bath street, it was fairly busy. I waited at traffic lights on the one way Union Street by the Country Bus station -( just a bus stop as pointed out on another forum). Waiting to move forward to the second set of lights, then to turn right onto Commercial road, I didn't see any cars travel along Commercial road, not one. That's despite the unusual diversion! It took many minutes at that double set of lights - held up for nothing, as per usual. Then a few more traffic lights to wait at on Commercial Road, again causing delay and congestion unnecessarily. I'm all for a total cull of the traffic lights, maybe a good weeding out of them or even just a part-time shut down of them all would improve matters! Signing now!

Harry Bramer's face - Bobby you saw so much in that face - to me he has the nondescript look down to a tee (to a tittle) (smallest detail). I wouldn't recognise that face again if I fell over it on my doggy walks in Aylestone Park. Nothing! He is from far far far away land, the Penyard ward, t'other side of Ross. Yet he meddles with our city to his heart's content. He, with the power of himself, backed up to the clueless conservative club cabinet cabal, has claimed the right to be the man who decides. Decides to further trash the fragile heritage of Hereford. To sweep away the Boys home, to demolish, to destroy history and welcome ugly short shelf life, architecturally hideous,insignificant ordinary and inferior boxes. And we allow this to happen.
