  1. Swell spotted Roger - wonder how many they catch out by taking up the offer !
  2. From BBC NEWS The government is spending more than £9m on sending a leaflet to every UK household setting out the case for remaining in the European Union. The 14-page document, to be sent to 27 million homes, is designed to respond to public demand for more details about the EU referendum by setting out the facts behind the government's position. Leave campaigners reacted with fury.
  3. Bilbobobby - you are so right , this shambles is a serious accident waiting to happen - last Tuesday at about 1115 I was walking from the Maylord towards the alleyway leading to Tescos , in front of me and walking the same way was a couple with two young children running , perhaps to free .. Widemarsh St was chockerblock with parked cars and vans - I was aware of an Audi which had been parked further down the Street travel along Widemarsh St at a speed which was far to fast for the conditions. It was apparent to me that this couple had not seen the forthcoming danger , I shouted to them to stop the children , thank goodness they realised the danger and grabbed the children . Because of the haphazard parking we , who were going to the alleyway to Tescos were stepping out into the road in front of a parked van which seriously restricted the view to the right . Surely this Council and Cllrs are aware of this situation and for whatever reason chose to ignore it .
  4. I understand that if Bobbys wish ( and mine ) is granted the Govt. have two years to sort it out , if they fail they have to ask ALL of the other EU members for an extension , if one refuses - a can of worms is opened ! Stand by ! It's going to end in tears
  5. British invention way before its time . The Fairey Rotodyne was a 1950s British compound gyroplane designed and built by Fairey Aviation and intended for commercial and military applications.[2] A development of the earlier Gyrodyne, which had established a world helicopter speed record, the Rotodyne featured a tip jet-powered rotor that burned a mixture of fuel and compressed air bled from two wing-mounted Napier Eland turboprops. The rotor was driven for vertical takeoffs, landings and hovering, as well as low-speed translational flight, and autorotated during cruise flight with all engine power applied to two propellers.
  6. Flew over our house on route to you know where , amazing to see it change from a plane to a helicopter , was only on the ground for no more than 5 minutes , flew back the way it came in .
  7. Slim , you are correct - I searched for the Candidates and only found the Green Party candidates , do we now know who three are , present deputy Barrie Ind. ? plus John Raine Green Party and John Campion Tory . Very low key at the moment as the turnout will be !
  8. Greenknight - a very brave , well written post . Sincerely hope that ( If you both want to ) you can sort this situation out and move on . I can understand why you say that the trust was broken - trust is one of the mainstays of a marriage . Another one is having no secrets - I can't even tell Mrs U that I have taken Charlie our Golden Retriever a walk when I haven't . Of course with you and the secret male it's not knowing who it is , has he been to your castle and drunk your wine etc . I certainly would like to know who it is - that's all part of clearing the air and moving on . I feel for you my friend. My very best wishes
  9. John Raine is standing for election as the Green Party candidate in West Mercia for Police & Crime Commissioner.
  10. Slim , can only agree with you , wondering who are the Candidates standing plus still waiting for my polling card ( I accept that there is still a few weeks to go )
  11. I certainly wish them well , I am sure that the local community will support them as well their fellow country men and women . In fact their fellow country men and women will certainly enjoy home from home cooking ( as , I understand Brits do when they go abroad on holiday )
  12. I believe that the average Voter in this forthcoming Election do not really understand the benefits of staying in or leaving the EU so they , as I will , vote with my gut feeling . Rightly or wrongly .
  13. It's just a pity that the original name of the shop has been passed down to the new owners of the premises . It needs the Eastern Europian connection ( name plus the wording on the outer windows )! removed
  14. They don't eat pork scratching or drink Carling lager- simple !
  15. I now hope that now IDS has had the round objects to stand up and say the truth that others will support him . He knows what was going to happens in the near future and I guess that it wasn't going to be good for the less able in our society .
  16. Well researched Roger - just shows that it appears that the Courts and this Council grab easy money .
  17. Yes , we shall be cheering for Hereford FC .
  18. Perhaps this eagled eyed Council Employee should take a walk along Bewell St , observe the illegal parking and advise the relevant department - or sort out the chaos with parking in Widemarsh St. especially during the morning.

    HEDGEHOGS

Mrs U says thank you Ladies - lovely words - set her up ready to do a talk to Bartestree Gardening Club tonight .
  20. Thanks Megelland for pointing out my failing memory plus that's reduces my concern for what still appears to be a lot of public money being held by a PC.
  21. I'm sure that there is a very good reason why - I was wondering why a Parish Council needs £108.777 on deposit and then intending to put up the PC bit of the Council Tax in April.?

    HEDGEHOGS

Thanks Martin for this - we were aware but the publicity is now in the wider world. Mrs U has been looking after 28 hogs since last September - because of the mild weather only one really hibernated , she hibernated at the end of last September and only woke up 4 days ago . The others have all kept Mrs U busy what with feeding and cleaning them out daily . Hopefully she will be releasing them in different areas of the County in the next four weeks. These are four little orphan hoglets that needing looking after towards the end of last year - all doing fine .
  23. Wonder what expertise / briefing these Cllrs have received which makes them experts in deciding where these salt bins should be located. As an aside , we have one salt bin in my "village " / hamlet . My country lane which contains a hill on a bend has never been gritted by the Council - however a resident of the lane regularly fills his trailer up with salt from this bin and scatters it on the hill around the bend . He is doing is so that he, plus other residents along the lane can drive into work the next morning - if it wasn't gritted the lane would become impassable and more than 12 residents of the lane would not be reporting for work .
