  1. Colin you posted " There should also be a 'Shoot To Kill' policy. " Of course there is a shoot to kill policy , no Police Firearms Officer or member of the Armed Forces are going to try and wound the aggressor - the policy is to shoot to kill , a wounded person with a gun is still very much a threat
  2. I will not agree to arming ALL Police Officers in the UK - my reasoning is based on the " Troubles " in Northern Ireland plus other thoughts and experiences . You will know that every Police Officer in the Provence is armed plus of course all the members of the Armed Forces are armed . But nearly 1000 members of the Armed Forces were killed during the " Troubles " . To my mind it would be a very dangerous decision , going on from that the Officers that shot and killed the apparent terrorists are now probably suspended from duty and being investigated by a person who had never had a gun in their hand or been in a position when they have had to make a life / death decision within a split second.. ( IPCC ) It's apparent that nobody will convince me that all Officers should be armed . I do have the greatest respect for the Emergency Services , Police , Fire and Ambulance plus others who run, drive etc towards the incident whilst others ( quite rightly ) are moving away from the incident.
  3. If my old mind serves me correctly Twowheelgood , you advised us many moons ago that where the super dooper new road between Edgar St and Commercial l Rd comes out onto Edgar St there will not be any traffic lights , so all traffic travelling along the new road towards Edgar St has to turn left and travel upto the Bewell St Island even if it wished to travel north on the A49 . So it would appear hat the Council have listened to somebody ! ( Thimk I am correct in my ramblings ! )
  4. Something which must concern all Police Officers is the effectiveness of their alledged stabproof vests . Sadly ,according to his PM report read at the Inquest he was stabbed once - the attackers knife went through the stab vest and killed the Officer.
  5. I emailed the HT re this Post etc ......this is their reply ............ Thanks for the email. We have asked the IT department in Worcester to check the results and they said they were as published. It seems some people did vote more than once but we made this clear in the story. You can see from page 4 of today’s paper that we have put many views across – and highlighted the fact that our poll was not scientific and that we could not claim that these results “would be echoed in a real referendumâ€. But thanks for your interest – and thanks again for getting in touch. All the best, Ian Morris Assistant editor.
  6. Well said Bobby - in fact I was amazed when the % suddenly changed - another False News story !
  7. Yes , you made your point - I accept now that he was unarmed BUT right upto mid evening they were all reporting that he was an armed officer. - of course initially there is a lot of confusion / mis reporting in a major incident
  8. Question, when they escorted Theresa May from parliament today why did her security team have firearms in hand? " Think you will find that the PM Personal Protection Team would have ushered her out to her car with weapons drawn because at that time they did not know the full picture of what was happening - guess it's part of their training .
  9. A national survey of police officers across England and Wales last year showed that 20% wanted to be routinely issued with a firearm and six out of 10 wanted a Taser.
  10. I understand that the Police Officer who was sadly killed was an armed Officer. I believe that there is certainly a need for a number of Police Officers to be armed but I would suggest that the majority have no real wish to be a Firearms Officer.
  11. ". The Home Office said: "Ms Bristow did not submit the required evidence to demonstrate her partner's income from self-employment. The required threshold is £18,600 a year." I know nothing about the Rules relating to Immigration / Visa application etc but I think I can understand the reason for the couple being able to,support themselves - appears a simple procedure to produce evidence of achieving the required threshold . Going on from that if I was in a similar position and my main income did not reach the required income I would seek further employment to ensure it did . If i'm wrong so be it . I read yesterday that a British man in his 90s Who lived with his family in Austrailia was being deported back to the UK before he became a liability to their Health Service !
  12. Guess that's OK - if some very large Bouncer declines you entry tell them the code word UBIQUE ! ( that will frighten him because Gunners are your best friend and worse enemy ! )
  13. This guy wearing medals from WW2 , Korea , Falklands plus a foreign medal plus of course that renown beret They traced him , he appeared in Court and received a Community Order
  14. I can understand why you call yourself Slim - should think it's one of many requirements of being a submariner . Hopefully meet up there- I suggest that if you can you go onto the Hereford Vets Breakfast Club Facebook group so that the Orhamiser Lynne Goodwin can " approve " you - at other Breakfast Clubs a number have attended with beige coloured beret and medals covering WW2 through to Afghan- if you get my drift .
  15. Yes Slim , initially it was - then the Club said that all attendees must be members of the Ruchmond Club - including all the hoops that must be jumped through to become members so the Organiser decided to change the location after a lot n of research / enquiries to Gilbys . This Breakfast Club is part of a National Chain of Vets Breakfast Clubs - there are no subscriptions or fees by attendees except to purchase your breakfast . Starts on Saturday 1st April .
  16. Sounds a good idea - have to speak to the Organiser - haven't had fried bread for years . Looking forward to meeting up .
  17. A little bird told me that the money has run out so the major work has been delayed until the next financial year.....,...?
  18. This Breakfast Club starts on Saturday 1st April 2017 - the club dies have a Facebook Group -
  19. I visit the Burghill Parish Council website regularly and noticed after HCC "upgraded " their site that a number of pages were missing from Burghill PC site , local Planning Applications for one , however it appears that it's now back to normal .
  20. Congratulations Denise for reaching an age when you are entitled to a Concessionary Bus Pass - I must add that the " old " Website was just as efficient in issueing and renewing these Passes . So why change it when it worked ? Enjoy your free bus travel - we do .
  21. That is outrages - they are going on about Central Govt is not giving them the money for Child Social Service etc plus Care for Elderly , bus routes being cut etc.and they , that is Herefordshire CC spending £260000 on upgrading a website which to my mind worked perfectly well. - I guess that someone or the secret Cabinet authorised this expenditure . This expenditure is going to bit them just below their rear waist ! They ain't leading us to the promised land ... As Bobby 47 would say " We are doomed "
  22. Apologies , will have to pass on your question . Had a look at the Fair Play and Respect tables , it appears to me that the tables relate to the actions of the players plus the Refs opinion - Perhaps now is a good time to admit that I have never been to a professional football match - having said that , I have admired the way that HCFC have risen from the ashes and sadly I now fear the worse for them .
  23. Whatever the outcome of any enquiry mud sticks and for the foreseeable future Hereford FC reputation will be tarnished . Reading the very articulated report by Bulls news would suggest that the Stewards should have done more to reduce the tension during the match - having said that if this was the first time in ages that there had been ' trouble ' at the match nor was there any apparent intelligence suggesting trouble I can maybe understand why they didn't.
  24. From BBC website Two men were arrested after a violent pitch invasion caused a football match to be abandoned. About 100 people were involved in the incident towards the end of Didcot Town's Southern Football League game against Hereford FC. Didcot said it was "very disappointed", while Hereford - leading 2-1 at the time of the abandonment - said it was "deeply concerned". BBC commentator Bill Rennells said "fists were flying everywhere". A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "A 19-year-old man from Hereford was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence, and a 19-year-old man from Hereford was arrested on suspicion of common assault." Didcot manager Andy Ballard called it a "very bizarre day". 'Tough call' He added: "I do have to commend the referee, he made a fantastic decision to call the game off. "He couldn't guarantee the safety of the players, the supporters and everybody in the ground, so he made a very tough call, but I think it's the right one. "Throughout the game [the tension] was always kind of there. Some of the abuse our goalkeeper was taking was vile and I have to commend him for keeping cool. "Having a fan up in his face he didn't react, he walked away." Mr Rennells, a journalist since the age of 14, said: "It's something I've never ever seen before in my 71-year career. There were people being held back, and some people trying to stop it."
  25. http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/15134196. Hereford_FC_match_abandoned_due_to_crowd_trouble/ Maybe started by Hereford "fan" who entered the pitch and goaded the Didcot goalie after Hereford scored in 87 minute - score 2 - 1 to Hereford
