  1. Thanks Megelland for pointing out my failing memory plus that's reduces my concern for what still appears to be a lot of public money being held by a PC.

They always hold on to lots of money, yet they could not spare £85 for a grit bin request by CJ, absolute laughing stock but they still have a duty to the resident of the parish.

  2. It looks like Angela Merkel is paying for her decision to allow so many migrants into Germany

Merkel Faces Election Drubbing Over Refugees

The state polls are the largest since the German leader opened the country's doors to more than a million migrants.

A right-wing nationalist party looks set to have powered into three German state legislatures in elections widely seen as a referendum on Angela Merkel's refugee policy.

The German Chancellor decided last year to open the door to more than a million migrants, many fleeing conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
  3. Twenty families, folks.

Out of all those millions...we are offering safe haven to just a handful here in Hereford.

Is it really too much to ask that we welcome them?

Actually, don't bother responding. I've heard more than enough from most of you on this subject. None of it was pleasant.

I have no issue with Hereford Council doing its bit and housing 20 families.

  4. Coincidentally, I followed this up with Planning Enforcement a couple of days ago as the side gates were still the horrible blue and no application in for new signs. Transpires the previous Enforcement Officer has left, another is on maternity leave and so it appeared to have slipped down the back of the sofa. They are now back on the case ...

Good for you TWG this should not be ignored.  :Thumbs-Up:

  5. That's the alfresco lift in view! Also notice the 'suicide' doors on the far right? No balconies on them? There are 11 apartments on each floor. Move in date scheduled March. Do look nice though.

Cannot believe they do not have balconies either Dilligaf. Travel anywhere in most European cities and there are nice looking blocks everywhere and all of them have balconies. I do not understand why they didn't add a few more floors like Colin has said, would of made more sense. Knock down flats to replace them with house accommodating fewer people, clever that?

  6. Good!

I for one am more than happy to pay a little more to help those who need it most, and protect the services which are vital to them.

Who is going to 'police' how this extra revenue is spent? Because I don't trust Pat and her cronies as far as I could spit.

I would have far more faith in an IOC administration when it comes to truly protecting the most vulnerable citizens in our society.

I agree with you dippy I am more than happy to pay a little extra to help those who need it most locally.

  7. I've been in your shoes, Osmosis.

    Don't rise to it.

Anyone with an ounce of humanity or compassion viewing this thread will tell you that you are most definitely not alone in your thoughts.

(And is post 317, above, not purposeless and inflammatory??)

I was just making a point dippy.

  8. The reason for lack of funding to local authorities, doctors and nurses, care for the elderly, etc. is not because we can't afford it. The cuts to services are ideologically driven, because fundamentally the Tories don't want the state to be providing people with services, they want you to go out and pay for it yourself. They can find the money to fund wars  and bombing FFS; if they can do that then they need to fund the resultant refugee crisis..

What utter tripe! I disagree, we do not have the money, hence the debt. I do not buy into your anti Tory blurb either.

  9. I see on the news tonight that the Syria conference has raised a massive £8bn and the UK has pledge a further £1.2bn, where is this UK money coming from? We have reduced our police force, we pay our doctors and nurses poorly, we don't really look after our elderly folk and there are cut backs to the emergency services and to our armed forces, yet we manage to find a FURTHER £1.2bn?

  10. They want to cut down trees in Edgar St for development and a whole load of tree huggers appear armed with banners, video and scarves. A single tree in Belmont in need of rescuing and hardly any comments or views and not a single tree hugger in sight..funny that.  :Hmm:

  11. During the president of Iran state visit to Italy recently famous nude statues were covered up! What gives? He is visiting Italy, well I am sorry Mr Rouhani, covering women in black head to toe, public executions and stoning I find offensive!

    EU has gone PC mad!

WHY would Italy want to even consider hiding her heritage?

What a disgrace! Have they got no national pride then? Offended? Thats rich coming from a country with an appalling human rights record amoung many other atrocities.

  12. No wine? No lunch for Iran's president in France

    635895800290125364-AP-France-Iran.jpg

French President François Hollande decided having wine with lunch is more important than breaking bread with Iranian President Hassan Rouhaniduring an official visit to Paris.

Hollande scrapped Thursday's lunch at the Élysée Palace after Rouhani had asked for a halal menu in keeping with his Muslim faith, and that also meant no wine at the table during his first visit as president to the City of Light.

    USA Today

    :Thumbs-Up:

    Good for President Hollande.  :Thumbs-Up:

  13. the walk-in centre will not close if I have anything to do with it.this is the third time they have attempted to close it, and i successfully fought to stop it closing. I would like to start up another petition will you all support me in keeping this walk-in centre open, Glenda

Of course, Colin has already set one up here

  14. Because ignoring the people at Calais has really stemmed the tide of refugees into Europe so far hasn't it.

Personally I believe the signals had already gone out then Angela had a brain wave..

So you think allowing all of these migrants from Calais into the UK is the best solution and will not encourage even more people to take the long dangerous route? I think that would only be irrisponsbile
