  1. I read the same post on Facebook and responded to (Andrew Wood but I notice today he has removed me as a friend) it but Colin James mentioned this back in the pothole thread in 2013 http://www.herefordvoice.co.uk/topic/988-go-careful-pot-holes/?hl=%2Bpot+%2Bholes

I see that they have repaired the road just past St Nicholas church on Victoria St but I did notice a huge pothole along the slip road leading towards B & Q and I mean huge!

The Greyfriars Bridge has also got potholes on the footpath. The whole bridge is due to be re-painted and railings repaired but this is not planned until at least the 2018/19.

The health and Safety brigade also want to close in the railings to stop motorists looking through as they drive across, we will have to put up a fight if that happens.

  2. I have not posted in here for a while as people are in cloud cuckoo land and that is being polite.

And of course everything you say MUST be correct I guess...

Adrian, it is no good moaning all the time, some people on here have done a lot of research into various idea's, some of which are very good. I am also in favour of a tram along the GWW but I also like your idea of electric buses, all good idea's, so instead of poo pooing them how about getting behind the idea's because until people like you do nothing will ever happen! Or come up with a suggestion of your own.

  3. NEWS | Emergency meeting held after Church Street businesses express concern over loss of trade due to roadworks and parking charges.

Sources have told us that a number of businesses are worried they 'may not have enough takings to pay their staff' this week.

An emergency meeting took place at Hereford Town Hall this evening with traders raising their concerns with cabinet members from Herefordshire Council. Traders in Church Street are worried that they may have to close their doors for good early in the new year if something isn't done to improve footfall in the area. They say increases to parking charges, recent road closures and the introduction of on street parking charges has seen some businesses lose over half their normal trade at this time of year.

Some suggestions were made during the evening and the council are believed to be looking into ideas to support the businesses affected.

I cannot believe that the introduction of parking meters in selected streets in Hereford have effected traders to this extent to be honest, I parked in Broad St today for an hour for a quid, in the past I could only park here for 30 mins so this is ideal for me, I got my haircut, nipped into M&S and went to the bank. I have seen a photograph on social media showing Church St looking dead quiet but it looks suspiciously like it was taken at night to me, when the shops are all closed.

  4.

    At last!

It only took three and half years to have ATM's installed at the Old Market shopping centre.

The Old Market opened back in April 2014.

The lack of an ATM was discussed a year later in May 2014.

I am pleased to see that two have finally been installed and are live, not ready for use by the public just yet as there is no cash in them but I am sure by early next week they will be fully operational.

    Long overdue Colin

  5. I was chatting with a friend this morning and he was telling me that his daughter had a to fork out for £300 worth or damaged to her car this week, caused by a cyclists.

Apparently the cyclist just rode into the side of her car as she was just about to get into the car after her lunch break, he actually fell off his bike, said sorry and rode off. Lots of damage to both the back door and rear panel. These cyclists should be insured it is unfair that people liken my friends daughter have to pay hundreds of pounds fro damaged caused by a cyclist.

  6. "The lack of commercial interest...over a number of years..." is estate agent weaselspeak for: "we just couldn't be arsed to go out and find a High Street name that was willing to take the building on. We stuck our board up (with our Birmingham phone number on it) but nobody contacted us."

Plonking a 17-unit residential block (if the Planning Committee rolls over to have its tummy tickled) alongside a lively city centre disco-pub seems to me to be social engineering gone mad.

But then most council planners are head-bangers.

I replied on the HV Facebook page with my comments:

It is good to see that if planning is passed that the old building is finally being used again however, how long will it be before the NEW residents of these flats start complaining about the noise from pubs and clubs!

  7. Classic journey this morning, my passenger did the filming, we were behind this cyclists and witnessed him ride straight through at least two sets of traffic lights when they were on red and he was on a video call most of the time.

Video call while riding on the main road, unbelievable!! But had he of been knocked over the motorists would have got the blame no doubt
