These arguments have more holes than a Swiss cheese. Meeting 'most' of the 'criteria' means you can open until 04.30 on crazy busy weekends .... But when it's more quiet then 03.00 is the cut off. I don't think anyone is grasping the agenda from the Police here ....
Yes I hold the same view, as long as they meet the criteria then why can they not stay open until 4.30am everyday? (not that they would but on principle) I am not sure this is down to the Police Roger this could of come from the Council, which is what I suspect.

I remember a big topic sometime ago about the cleaning of belmont pools. There was also the ducks crossing signs HV managed to get placed.

So there is no one official taxi rank then, just lots of little ones?

Here is one of those achievements that should be added to the list.

This is a good idea, just on my way out now but will have to have a look thru but I am sure there are many things members have achieved as a collective which in fairness I think we should start to list, why not.

Fantastic.
I am now going to set my alarm for 2.30am so I can get out of bed and wander down the street for some chips
I don't believe this was agreed with you in mind AV, this is more for the youngsters coming out of the clubs with hungry bellies after a few beers, that is when the munchies kick in from memory.

The BID is a secondary tax leveled at retailers in the city on top of the already monstrous business rates. The tax was raised and was supposed to increase tourism and business prosperity and so far it's put posters in some empty shop fronts and now appears to be taking on the role of street cleaning. This appears to be an exercise in wasting money. Surely there are much better ways to use the money than to buy a giant hoover for the city - a £10 broom from the J Mart would be just as effective and keep the electric bills down. Just for record a lot of voted against the BID for fear that it would become just an additional fundraiser for the council. Unfortunately this has now become the case. It also appears to be able to expertly waste money just like the council so fantastic.
Quite shocked at these comments, a group of retailers are doing something good for the city and all they get is criticised... I tell you what, your damed if you do and you damed if you don't.

I have heard it all now. So what about upstairs by toilets? They have just installed a photo booth, so why not an ATM?

I've not posted here since the unpleasant Cardin incident and I won't be posting again. In my view, if there are discrepancies they should be dealt with in private, not public, until such time as guilt has been proven.
dippyhippy's contribution to the forum has been enormous and this is no way to repay that, regardless of suspicions. Likewise this last response to GridKnocker is uncalled for. The voice of reason that is bobby47 has called it right once again, but to no avail it seems. It's Colin's forum and he can deal with matters as he thinks fit, but I'm out. That said, I can't see any way to delete my details - is this like facebook where you can check out but never leave? What is with all the leaving announcements? If you no longer want to contribute then just do exactly that. I have noticed at least one thing this topic has managed to do and that is to get all these people who apparently left to come back, funny that. Just let Colin do his job, I admire him for informing us, so it depends which side of the fence you are sat.

Enjoyed today, I have lots of splinters now ha ha worth it though for sure.

Job Swap ?
From Coventry Telegraph
Coventry City Council’s top solicitor has left the organisation for personal reasons in the midst of a lengthy legal battle with the owners of Coventry City FC.
Christine Forde, the council’s assistant director for legal and democratic services and monitoring officer, has left the local authority on the 31st August and the full council will today vote to delegate powers to a temporary replacement.
You don't miss much do you ha ha this is very interesting stuff.

I saw a lot of filming going on on the Belmont Rd outside McDonalds early this afternoon, lots of crew wearing hi viz jackets, I wondered what was gong on and now I know. Thanks for the info and lets hope when broadcast it jogs someones memory because this killer is still at large!

This is long overdue and we need at least 3 camera along the whole length of the lines. Trees and high bushes need to be cut back and that canopy needs opening up like Colin has said. They need to make this a nice open space instead of all the shadows that criminals can hide within. More lighting would help too.

I am not a regular drinker but I do like a pint now and then. £3.10 is a good price for a pint but I would need to drive to get there, which I obviously won't do. Still it is good to see Herefordshire in the news for something positive that could go someway to help local pubs and restaurants.

I see that Dominos Pizza (Belmont Rd) applied to extend their hours of business until 0200 Sunday - Thursday and until 0400 Fridays and Saturdays. Direct Counter sales cease at Midnight so this extension is for deliveries only by the look of it and its been REFUSED this week.
Application no: P151384/F
There is the first refusal then.

well I have now looked into this and my view is that we need more festivals, of different types.
This was primarily a music festival with tribute bands. The fun fair and other bits and pieces were a side line to entertain children and adults waiting for their favourite band to come on. £8.00 was a good price if you were staying there for the music. You pay more to hear one tribute band at other venues.
The Barrels charged £9.00 for entrance, well worth it but you would have to have spent lots more for beer or cider!
I am not sure why there was only 4 local cider producers there but that was the producers decision.
To hire the KGV meadows you have to go through property services who will decide on the provisions you need to provid for your festival. Balfour Beatty did the clearing up, safety etc and I have no problem with their work.
Does seem that many people enjoyed the festival. When it was put on in Swansea it rain and the field looked like a mud bath but hey, that is what all festival are about. We need things like this to happen in Hereford. I am not sure how much it costs to get into the Bromyard Festival but I think it was a similar price, HAY festival costs a bomb and Brecon Jazz Festival can be expensive,
Let's hope that other people want to provide entertainment for the masses, I do not want to have to keep going to the Cathedral or Shire Hall for my entertainment. In the 60s the City Council refused permission a for a band(pop group in those days) to perform in Hereford because of their long hair and permiscuous behaviour, which is why the Beatles and Stones never got to Herefordshire
No this was not primarily a music festival with tribute bands? It was supposed to be a SAUSAGE AND CIDER FAMILY FESTIVAL?????? Did you miss something here in your investigation?

This is possibly the only conference centre in Hereford now, I hope the new owners keep it as a hotel.

I see the HT finally caught up and have published this story this afternoon.

Everyone should be able to travel without fear of physical or verbal attack. But segregation is admission of defeat, this is not a sustainable solution. Women only train carriages are a 19th century answer to a 21st century problem. Segregation lets perpetrators off the hook & blames victims.
Totally correct, they should address the security here by having security guards on trains not placing women in a separate compartment.

Joe Brandt I approached the organisers to enquire if we could bring our home grown, award winning free range pork. We thought this would be an ideal opportunity for a local food producer to support a local festival. However we turned down months ago. What a shame that outside caterers were brought in instead!
I thought this was what this festival was all about. It appears to of been nothing more than a money making exercise with no local produce!

FC people? You will also have Police analysts and Council trawling constantly. Either Officially or just out of curiosity.
I am sure that the members and goings on will be monitored or if not it should be! Odd to if you ask me, but they have loads of money by the seem of it.

Nobody want's to comment now but I will. To me this was obvious from the start. All Angela Merkel has done is made the problem a lot worse. I read all sorts of stories about people burning their fingers to avoid finger their prints being taken, people destroying passports (they have found lots) to hide their identity, why would you do that unless you have something to hide. These people who have no papers should be refused entry into Europe, at least until they can prove who they are and where they are from. I cannot travel even within the EU without proving who I am, so for people coming from outside of the EU this is a no brainer. The real problems have not started yet but I feel that Germany in particular will be sorry in the coming months but certainly a major city within Europe, I may be and I hope I am wrong but time will tell.
