  1. Colin- as advised I spoke with Many Evans for the South Wye Regeneration Board yesterday, she said she will speak to the board to get the old NB removed.
  2. To attempt to explain, the two new boards were only put in last Tuesday, the installers could not be ask to take the blue one's away as they did not install them that is why I said I would ask SWRB to have them removed. As you know the notice boards belong to BRPC Belmont Rural Parish Council, the NB at Northolme belongs to the centre therefore as Adrian is their secretary he could put your notice in their board. it is up to the parish council what goes into their boards.
  3. Colin- as I have said in a previous reply to another post, the blue one's came from the South Wye Regeneration Board (now partnership)monies back in 1998, the notice boards were given to each community group for their use, so technically the one at the Oval belongs to the Advice Centre. When this conversation came up 18 months ago here I approached them when I read your post, all that was said is 'it is broken' but they did nothing about it.
  4. Yes they have been installed my comment was as Cllr Edwards has chosen to take the credit then he should also take the flack when things go wrong with them in the future.
  5. Thats where you are wrong,I do not have to take credit I have a track record of my own achievements that the people of Belmont Ward acknowledges. As I said it was three city parish councillors who jointly contributed to the venture not one! I totally agree with you about the traffic lights.
  6. It has taken all this time to get the notice boards installed because of having to ask permission off highways, also they had to be made. The metal one's were chosen because they are simular to the one's in town and Newton Farm & Hunderton are the two city parish council estates. You will see next week that Cllr Edwards has taken full credit for these notice boards although it was a joint venture by the then three Belmont City Council councillors so any future concerns would be best pointed in his direction.
  7. I have contacted Amey to have them removed asap
  8. They are located at the beginning of each estate because there are going to be maps on the back of each of them pertaining to Hunderton & Newton Farm so to tell people where each street is.So yes I understand why you may think they are close to each other. We could not remove the blue ones because as you rightly state they belong to the South Wye Regeneration Partnership so it is up to them to remove them which I will be asking them to do.
  9. Pleased you like the notice board there is one the other side of the road for Hunderton, they were paid for by the city council. The advice centre and I have are responsible for all notices pertaining to Newton Farm being placed in it. You should see the city council minutes on their website which you have a link here and on my website as the city council minutes which is a minimum of 15 pages last time would fill the notice board, the agenda for each meeting will be considered.
  10. Thank you for explaining what I already know in regard to planning procedures. Where you ask before does it need planning permission. As I explained, and for clarification when the land belongs to the local authority the application normally doesn't come to the planning committee as it is dealt with under delegated powers by the planning officers and it normally gets passed,so local members do not get the opportunity to speak whether they are for or against the application. Because I have concerns about this application as the local member living on Newton Farm and representing the people I ask for it to come to committee and my wish has been granted. Your other ward councillors who ask for the car park to be located in Waterfield road will possibly speak at the planning committee in favour of it although under the new planning procedures we are not allowed to vote on the application.
  11. The comment made about the names on petition was what I was advised by the officers present yesterday who have seen the petition, I have not with a small petition ( I understand 40 signatures) the names / address's are checked for authenticity. Get your facts straight IT IS NOT the planning committee who decides whether the application is accepted but the councillors on the planning committee.Just for clarification as the land belongs to the council it does not need to go to planning committee, and in the circumstances very rarely does. It is going to committee BECAUSE I ASK FOR IT TO GO THERE!!!
  12. I met up with planning dept/ Park & countryside officer and representative of Amey on site this afternoon. I am aware that both yourself and Mrs Lynch has spoken to the planning officer, also that there is a petition objecting to the car park doing the rounds, it has been noted on the petition that various names have been entered for the same address on two occasions where it is known that only two people live at the said address. The land belongs to Herefordshire Council therefore the planning application is theirs. The planning application WILL go to the planning committee this month where it will be debated and voted on by the councillors on that committee after hearing ALL evidence for and against the application. I have voiced my concerns in relation to the antisocial behaviour that happens at the Ball Court and the siting of the car park near by, I have asked that if the planning application is successful that the area of the car park is fenced off and locked at night.
  13. Frank - I couldn't agree more with your sentiments. it is a pity because it was a good paper when it started.
  14. I have just come back from the Information Centre to pick up a copy of the Journal, only to be shown a letter from the Journal office stating as from next week the Hereford Journal is no longer FREE, there will be a cost of 45p per copy to members of the public, this will come into effect next week. They are also looking for new outlets for the journal to be picked up from.
  15. Easy mistake to make, except she doesn't look anything like me and is 30 years older than me. I have not been in the press a lot this year because of my accident.
  16. Frank- looking at the picture again I recognise the lady in the picture she lives in South Wye and is in her 90s now. I just wonder how many more people thought that it was me because if so, other than the people who support me, then no one really knows who I am!
  17. Victor that is not me, as the lady looks in her 60s at a guess and in 1987 I was 40, that is definately NOT ME!
  18. Have spoken with Amey today, they have made the bridge safe with wire netting, they advised they will renew fencing completely in April 2112 out of their next year budget, but will be keeping regular checks in the meantime.
  19. The Police Station was opened in 2003, 8 years ago. The opening which I attended was my first official engagement as local councillor for Belmont ward.
  20. I had a two hour meeting at South Wye police station with Inspector Nick Semper this morning, during our discussions I ask him why the front desk at South Wye police station is CLOSED! I received the following short statement from Inspector Semper which he asked me to pass onto the public.
  21. Victor, yes lets see what they do now. I saw the picture in HT, but I cannot see myself on it only three of my relations.
  22. I spoke to Amey officers on Friday advising them to do the work properly not with plastic tapes. I will be checking to see if the work has been done.
  23. Frank - there are three of the garages still being used. I have spoken with Herefordshire Housing this week and they advised me that other than keeping the area clean & tidy nothing is sceduled for the site. I went on my weekly walk along GWW on Sunday, noted the rubbish etc and have reported it all to Amey Community Protection team and lights dept with the request of the whole area being cleared also branches removed from around light standards. They have replied that my request will to be actioned.
  24. Adrian, I also reported the bridge work on Sunday by email after my inspection of GWW,Shaw walkway and around the Belmont Pools. I was advised on Monday morning that all work has been sent to relevant people for action.
  25. Further message received 7th October from James Blissett:
