  1. I have a copy of them so if you want to make contact with me i can get them photocopied for you.
  2. Colin, I have spoken to Amy / Community Protection Team this morning they are sending someone up to see what needs doing altogether, they are ringing me at 2pm today as to when they will do the work and I ask for a site visit with me. The girl who cut the verge along side your houses was not a member of Amey staff.
  3. If the clerk doesn't send you the minutes, the next meeting is on Thursday 11th 7:15pm Northolme centre you could ask her in person if you attend.
  4. Amey officers have not returned my call from the other day asking for the trees to be cut, so will chase them up tomorrow!
  5. I have requested from HHL the cost of the painting of the Oval, I am waiting for their reply.
  6. They will be decanted out to other areas one block at a time and have the opportunity to come back to Newton Farm if they want to, the residents have all been advised of this sometime ago.
  7. The Oval redecoration was on the agenda for discussion, I stated what many people are saying about waste of money and ask for an answer, apparently the Oval shops will be the last to be demolished in about 10years according to HHL, they will consentrate on the pulling down of whimpy flats first, ie Belmont Rd, Broxash Drive, and Kilvert Rd to replace with houses.
  8. you ask for my comment I am waiting for Amey to get back to me having left a message, when they do I will comment further!
  9. Herefordshire Housing chose the colours and out of the three clours offered the pale blue was the best, hence why I chose it!
  10. Frank- I totally agree in regard to the colour, For residents living in the pre-renforced concrete houses /two storey flats they have a choice of three colours peanut butter, oatmeal ( the colour of the Oval) and summer blue, which is a nice colour many people are choosing the blue including myself. Many residents are stating the same why is Herefordshire Housing wasting money when they are due to be demolished, I will be stating that at the Oval Regeneration meeting on Monday teatime.
  11. As of Monday 4th July Newton Farm has a new Herefordshire Housing Estates Manager John Ingles, he will be in place until September when Collette Cutter, (the estate manager for Hunderton) will take over the full time position in Newton Farm. With Mr Pugh taking over as estates manager for Hunderton at that time. My thanks goes out to Peter Grayer for his work in the time he was with us, and I wish him well in his new post in Legions Way.

  13. I already told him that he said he would investigate it!
  14. Colin, I spoke to the officer about this after you rang me, he said he would contact you as I requested, hope you received a satisfactory reply. i would advise you obtain a FREE permit from Garrick House you should not encounter any further poblems then.
  15. No I am not irritated or suffering from the latter, in regard to my constituents phoning me they have known for 8 years they can, and do contact me over a timescale of 10 hrs a day, I always check my messages and ring residents back the same day If I am at council meetings. The majority of residents know I give them 100% of my time 364 days a year. The point I was making is whilst they are ringing me they could of rang the police themselves if matters need the police attending, if it is urgent I tell them to ring 999. As I stated before residents mistakenly think because of my position I have a direct line to both the South Wye and Central police stations in Hereford, where as, I have to go through the same number to Worcester and have to ask to be conected to either Hereford Stations the same as you!
  16. The police monitor this website, so will see your coments! the police station is open at the following times 10am - 2pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 4pm - 8pm on Wednesday. When the police station front desk was under threat of closure in 2009 and I did a petition to keep it open I also ask for the hours to be change I was advised they did not have the man power to cover later hours, it was suggested to me that they were thinking of getting the public to train to man the front desk but not enough people came forward because they did not want to work night time hours, and some did not pass the police checks so it remains the same hours of opening. In the police defence I have been to the station on several occasions on Wednesday evenings while walking around the ward and no member of the public was present or apparently go there at night, instead they ring me to contact the police! unfortunately while they are ringing me they could of contacted the police themselves and they would of attended earlier! People think because I am a councillor I have a direct line to the police station which I do not.
  17. It was built and opened late in 2003.
  18. Where I agree the police station is not open at appropriate hours ie.in the evenings, but as was explained in another post the police has had their budget drastically slashed, the station will NOT be open 24 hrs as much as I like it to be, we are lucky that it is open at all with the reduction of police officers!
  19. Andy, You know my views on this we need a purpose built community hall not a hub this is what the residents of Newton Farm has asked for for the past 12 years, you have my survey what we done when I ran the NFCA 98% of the people replied, we need somewhere for our teenagers to go under supervision of youth workers, and also facilities for the elderly people to give them back their luncheon and social club, a community building where meetings take place. The NFCA is in name only they do nothing for the residents and we have no meetings to discuss what they promised to give to the community for the past 10 years.
  20. The information received on 31st March is as follows: Dear Councillor Powell, Further to your telephone call of 31st March in regarding the use of yellow box junction markings on roundabouts i am pleased to advise as follows: * the installation on the highway of all road markings is strictly regulated by " The traffic Signs regulations and General Directions 2002" (TSRGD 2002) which is published by the department for Transport and all Highways Authorities have to abide by the provisions contained in this document. * The TSRGD 2002 yellow box junction markings are found on page 196 and are referred to as diagrams 1043 and 1044. * TSRGD 2002 states at direction 35 on page 432 - "The road marking shown in diagram 1043 or 1044 shall not be placed to indicate an area of carriageway on a roundabout unless the entry of traffic into the roundabout is at ALL TIMES controlled by traffic light signals" Accompanying the TSRGD and in order to provide more detailed explanation of its contents there is a book titled " Traffic Signs manual chapter 5 Road Markings" In this manual item8.39 on page 59 explains why TSRGD does not permit yellow box junction markings on roundabouts and states " direction 35 prohibits the use of yellow box markings at unsignalled intersections on roundabouts. This is because a circulating vehicle has priority over those entering. If it stops to avoid obstructing the box when its exit is blocked, there by releasing the flow of entering vehicles, there is likely to be uncertainty over re-establishing right of way when the exit is clear again. Moreover, a vehicle stopped in an outer lane might obscure vehicles lawfully contining to circulate on the inner lanes ( whose exit might not be blocked) from the view of drivers entering the roundabout. yellow box markings may, however, be used where traffic entering the roundabout is controlled by signalls at all times". In essence they are saying that: * establishing priority between traffic entering a roundabout and traffic that is stationary at a box junction could become confused when traffic that was stationary at a box junction starts moving again. * the visibility between moving vehicles entering a roundabout and moving lanes of traffic using a roundabout could become obscured by a lane of stationary vehicles stopped at a box junction. END Hope this helps.
  21. Yes it used to be open 24 hours in it's original location, but since it moved to where it is now we have had many complaints from residents living in the immediate area of the garage, of noise and light polution, also HGV vehicles attempting to manuver the narrow area leading to the garage forcourt making it hazzardous.
  22. I have tried to explain in other areas the boxes have been put in years ago ( before I was a Cllr) where I can only presume the Highways Agency thought the area merit the box, the same goes for the larger keep clear marking in Barton Rd. As the A465 does not come under the Highways Agency durisdiction since it was detruncked in 2009 the A465 comes under different rules and restrictions, as I said before Amey and the local authority has to adhere to them, whether they like it or not. Members post may have valid points but Amey has to follow the rules and guidelines they are given by the Dept of transport I hope this clarifies the questions that you and other members have asked. I will continue to ask for additional signs to be put in to help Amey case for them we can only wait for the answer from the dept of transport!
  23. I can assure you I have not thrown my rattle out of the pram, i have answer Phil Rowe
  24. I am not annoyed, to lose your temper get you nowhere! The restrictions that were given is that we could not have a yellow box without traffic lights, it was then put to Amey officers could we have a comprimise the keep clear markings, they said they would check and came back saying yes we could, i thought they would be put further into the road and when put in I said just that, since then I have supported the 'arrows' and ask for them to be implimented.
  25. I have not missed the point at all! I can only state what the people I saw on Monday said that is I CAN NOW GET ONTO THE ROUNDABOUT NOW THE KEEP CLEAR MARKING ARE THERE! some people doesn't seem to have any trouble as your pictures show others do!
