It is always good to see new members joining the forum and the more the better. There is huge activity on the HV FaceBook page but becoming a member of the forums here is more personal and the members can become more involved in discussions instead of someone just posting quick replies.

I have no problem with this increase either because the money is going to LOCAL services and I think most would agree that these services are much needed.

What is the problem with just offering deliveries after midnight? Sp was this refused based upon 1 or 2 resident objections?

It's unbelievable how easily folk are 'offended' these days, they offended themselves on behalf of others.
Definition of a refugee, someone in fear of their life.
Definition of a migrant, someone looking for a better life.
So I tend to agree with Dave on this one
Mr Cameron rounded on the Labour leader in the Commons, saying:
"Look at the record of the last week. They (Labour) met with the unions and they gave them flying pickets.
They met with the Argentinians, they gave them the Falkland Islands. They met with a bunch of migrants in Calais, they said they could all come to Britain. The only people they never stand up for is the British people and hard-working taxpayers."

I see the newish car park at Station Approach is going from £3 to £5 for a days parking. That's getting towards a figure where people will think twice before using it. In addition if you tend to use it every day in the week (for work maybe) then it's cheaper to use the NCP railway station car park where a weeks pass is £23.20. That equates to £3.31 a day. Or £4.64 if you only need the parking Mon-Fri.
Better still is the free parking opposite the railway station entrance by the Sorting Office post box. Seems to be a bit of a loophole there. Until they start building that new internal road to nowhere I suppose ...
Roger is correct it would be cheaper to use the stations NCP car park. Some of these prices increases are far to high

This is how I interpreted your comment, in the context of the thread.
However, there are some master manipulators who post on here. Folks who skew events to suit their views. Who deliberately misinterpret, take as gospel anything that is printed in The Daily Mail, and thinks Katie Hopkins speaks sense. So I bow to your greater knowledge and experience in this field...
Obviously if I have misconstrued the thought processes behind your post, you have my most sincere and heartfelt apologies.
(Evening Steve, I hope you don't mind me mentioning this.... your posts do come across in a rather aggressive manner! Have you considered meditation? It's a great way to relax, and a real stress buster.)
Apologies for the delay in my response dippy. I do not mind at all, I am not entirely sure how can conclude a rather aggressive manner merely from text, maybe you have the ability to use extrasensory perception (ESP) to identify information hidden from the normal senses? Joking aside, I am not aggressive at all and I apologise if my responses come across to you in that manner.

Bugger it! To those of you who simply hate all things you don't understand and allow your fears and prejudices to block out any reason and intelligent thinking, the recent reports of sexual assaults upon women in the West is simply 'manna from heaven' to you. You are the very people that a fascist maniac can whip up into a frenzy, get you to burn books and build fences to keep out or keep in all those you've been programmed to believe are out to kill you, take over your Country or abuse you and your children. You simply hate! And, getting you to hate and despise all things Islamic is all so very easy for those that pray on your simple minded stupidity.
You lick it up like hungry dogs because you want the migrants to fail. You yearn for them to fail. You desperately want these people to do anything that'll validate the hatred you feel for people and cultures you've become frightened of and don't want to welcome into our World of prosperity, aspiration and hope.
And for those who have a heart and a glimmer of intelligence who choose not to join the howling mob and apply their rational thinking to a modern social problematic migrant phenomenon that has landed on our European doorstep, you mock, belittle and howl louder than Dippy and Osmosis so that the hate fuelled pack can win the day and label any 'thinkers' loony left tree hungers.
The reason the Nazis flourished, prospered and successfully built many of their Death Camps and succeeded in demonising all things Jewish is, because like many of you, you did as you were supposed to do. Obey! Don't think! Hate and be ready to believe that 'they are out to kill and destroy you'.
History is repeating itself and despite the lessons that we all could learn by glancing back at European twentieth century history, that alerts you all to the dangers of bigotry and hatred of a group of people still, even now, people of low intelligence are easily cajoled into hatred, discrimination and the demonising of others we know very little about.
So if we "in your own words" know very little about these people, what qualifies you to be their spokesperson and defender on the web? Surely someone as wise and intelligent as you can enlighten us of low intelligence with some facts instead of name calling, not what you think is happening that fits your agenda, why not just stick to the facts and actual events of which only a small minority have been picked up by western media. For example, can you answer why the vast majority of refugees are males aged 18-35?

Why should a refugee have to wear a wristband, which is the equivalent of having a sign around their neck stating "I am a refugee"??
The same reason a disabled person parks in a disabled bay and has a blue badge! Quite happy to do that though aren't they!
It is to help identify them. Help is being offered to these people and complaints about a poxy wristband, unreal, the world has gone mad it really has!

I cannot believe that a system devised to help (wristbands) identify migrants in order to provide food has been slammed! For once I agree with Katie Hopkins.
Lefties are outraged migrants have to wear a red band to get food and handouts. Most of us have to go to work to get food. Suck it up.

Should we take 3000 "orphans" children - my opinion is YES of course we should . I also accept what Frank Field MP said on tv yesterday that the migrant parents of children might use this as a way of first getting the child / children to the UK and then applying to enter the UK because their child/ children have already been accepted. The wise people will have to sort that out .
I fully accept that it's a very difficult situation to resolve - what happens if and when peace returns to these counties , will the migrants be forced to return to help rebuild a ruined country or will these countries continue to be a breeding ground for terrorists .
Sweden have taken its fair share of migrants, yet the orphans choose to runaway from their foster homes and then cause havoc, in particular at the Stockholm train station. Read this lot and before anyone says oh yes DailyMail crap I can provide other sources.

I could not agree more, Angela Merkel is not looking so smug now.
I knew this would happen, all too quick to let so called refugees into Europe without any form of ID in many cases!! More to come I fear.Now Mrs Merkel is losing confidence with her people she wants to re-distribute her guests throughout the EU.

I am sharing that same sad face as Clarkester. How sad is it when the local council provide the bins to recycle and some people just cannot be bothered! It really is not difficult to do your bit, we simply rinse items beforehand, it takes no time or real effort. I opened a tin of chopped tomatoes last night and rinsed the empty tin within seconds. It is because of people with this "can't be bothered" attitude that will force everyone in the end to have to sort all of their waste like the have to do in the bigger cities. They have separate bins for glass, paper, metal etc in Hereford it is all made simple.

We went for our Monday morning breakfast this morning hoping it was open but we have to wait another week, so we went to the bus station cafe for a good old fry up instead and very nice it was.

I think it is going to only get worse. I agree with Alex last comment that Angela Merkel has opened pandoras box.
It will only get worse in Germany and throughout the whole of the Sichuan Zone now, wait and see.

After reading the article in the HT about the over zealous street warden, I thought a debate should be started about the number - or lack of - taxi ranks in the city.
I understand that ranks are based in -
1 St Peters Sq - 2 spaces
2. Commercial Rd - both sides numerous from 7pm
3. Broad St
4. Bridge Street
5. Maylord Orchards slip road
That means there are NO official ranks in Widemarsh Street, St Owen Street near the Barrels, Bluschool Street near Play and Bewell Street near Tescos.
So what to do. Quite clear not enough spaces and ranks in the wrong places
Perhaps something for the council to look at to ensure a proper regulated service with enough spaces at the right locations and at right time of the day and night
How about removing a few of the disabled spaces, there are far too many as it is, especially in Broad Street.
I knew this would happen, all too quick to let so called refugees into Europe without any form of ID in many cases!! More to come I fear.

I think aged 45 is a little low but maybe at the age of 60 you have to sit some sort of reaction test then ever 5 years.
