  1. Oh for Christ Sake get over the bloody trees in Edgar St, I am bored of hearing about them now.

I was going to say the same thing. :Vault:  Looking at these photo's the tenants will be able to touch the tree's from their upper floor windows by the look of it. Houses could of done with being built 8-10ft further back imo, giving a small garden too, I can see what you mean about possibly being dark inside.

  2. And he's not just a "keyboard warrior" Steve.

This man is out and about. Getting up front and in the faces of those who have much to hide.

I'm sure he is and i am all for that in truth but i would seriously advise him not to get into Colin's face reiterating the abuse he typed out to him earlier, he seemingly does not know his background thats all i am saying.  :Nervous:

  3. I dont often post on this board - but as a nightclub manager - Ian is one of the best DJ's ive worked with in 20 years of nightclub management!

You can see him every Thursday at Play

He is a super DJ Dan you have a great entertainer in Ian at Play and I am looking forward to this new radio station.  :Thumbs-Up:

  4. But it does not matter who you support, whether it be tory, labour or even the bnp, that does not entitle someone to throw a barrage of abuse and start name calling because their political preferences are different to yours does it?  He has some very valid points but spoils it by trying to influence others with his views, I found him often intimidating if I am honest, which is a shame.

  5. Yes I wondered that.   So,  the old trees are gone, the new trees are dead, the approach to the city is spoiled, the Conservation area is degraded and the traffic problem is worse than ever.   An unmitigated success then.

Exactly!!! I wonder how much this whole bloody tree issue has actually cost us?  :Thumbs-Down:

I agree that is is a right mess now, should of chopped down that end tree and had a straight road instead of the silly stuck out piece near the football ground.

  6. You really need to get over the felling of the Edgar St tree's Amanda. I think it looks worse now than ever because of the scarf wrapping tree huggers campaign! It's like a dogs back leg, with one odd tree at the bottom. In my opinion, they should of cut them down totally in order to make progress on the essential road works needed, leaving the 3 tree's as they have near the top of the road by the roundabout. These tree's will end up coming down in the long term in my opinion anyway.

I am pleased that someone is brave enough to comment on this topic, I thought the whole tree saving campaign caused more hassle in the end. I agree that is is a right mess now, should of chopped down that end tree and had a straight road instead of the silly stuck out piece near the football ground. I like tree's but sometimes they need to be felled in order to progress. Phil Edwards has the stupid idea of a tree boulevard on Belmont Road, what planet is he on? They do not look after the tree's, bushes and grass now!

  7. Oh dear, an elected official would not being doing themselves any favours threatening to take legal action against one of their constituents? Surely you are mistaken Colin?

You are right, he will not be doing himself any favours, but I have known Colin for a long time and this will just be water off a ducks back to him, he has been running several websites for many years, not just this one, so I would love to know how can someone can possibly take legal action over someones opinion on a forum? What is a judge going to tell him? He cannot have an opinion? This is a laugh, surely?

  8. You're welcome.  A word of caution:  I think we do need to be careful about depriving already poor communities of amenity space but, on the other hand, trams are not like trains: they don't need elaborate infrastructure and shouldn't take up much room.   One solution might be to go with a kerb guided tram/bus hybrid like one I went to see in Essen, Germany.   It's a conventional bus that charges on a fly wheel along the inside of the kerb but can also run on the road.  It looks like a bus but runs like a tram or a bus;  takes up very little space and is a lot cheaper to build and run than a conventional tram systems and because it's electric you don't get the air quality issue you do with conventional diesel buses.  Take a look.

I prefer the tram idea or your Parry People Mover even, I have seen some relatively small trams they come in various sizes and are eco friendly and quiet too, so little or no noise pollution at all.

  9. A good idea indeed. I can see this working and the local community getting behind the project because getting this up and running will benefit everyone and relieve a lot of traffic from the mains routes into south Hereford. There are also some fields that could be used at the other end near to the back of the Lads Club and further on down. Main river bridge used to carry huge pay loads of trains but it would obviously need checking and possibly bringing up to date but we are not talking lengthy diesel trains carrying tons of steel and coal are we, we are talking of a tram system carrying people. It a very good positive idea and Colin I would be totally backing this project if you can get it off the ground.

  10. Love it love it love it!!!

What a fantastic idea!! This is an almost perfect solution in my opinion. It would relieve huge pressures from the main roads, help get the kids to school and people to work from all parts of South Hereford all the way to Holmer Road and if it could be linked to Rotherway like Jimbo has suggested even better.  This is just such a good idea. Both pedestrians and cyclists togther in shared space too. :Happy_32:

  11. I was referring to Debenhams and I have a family member who works there and they have had fantastic sales figures since opening which are way beyond the targets that were set, so not sure where you have your information come from there. Then there is Swarovski, River Island, Joules, l'Occitane, Paperchase and Tiger. We can be as negative as we want but I think this new shopping centre has lifted the city and visitor numbers are up, on the flipside of this the city centre has suffered be losing the stores that left to go to the new units, maybe the Council should of tried harder to keep them stores in High Town. With regard to chain restaurants its no different to chain stores but now at least we have a little more choice which hopefully will keep attracting more and more visitors to Hereford. The Cinema was a must.

Yes Mick there is far too many negativity about the old market, it's here now so we need to embrace what we have! I think the HC have totally knackered things in the city centre though and all we can do is continue to put pressure on them to invest more in high town and the butter market, sort out the old River island building for starters etc..

  12. It is my post...cos I posted it and I am laying legal claim to it because it is my intellectual property....

That's three of you sat on the stairs!!

Any creditability that you had with me has diminished recently and now especially with all of your comments above including your letter. You are not interested in helping the homeless, you are more interested in your own self appointed importance and ego! You find it difficult to deal with, when you are criticised, particularly by any type of authority, I recently read your attack on a local judge, who was a good person when he was agreeing with you, yet as soon as that changed so did you. You are not interested in any advice offered from anyone.

  13. I DONT DO ADVICE...and the post to Megileland was a set of simple instructions, so easy even a child could follow them, as I thought he was stuck and did not know what to do...

    After all it was he who posted the following;

"Can't see how I can take direct action using the advice you suggest, other than a private action through the courts. Am I right?"

As I cannot tell him if he is right or wrong... I thought it would be helpful to direct him to people who can answer that question such as the Council or the Police..if that was wrong of me...you can always report me to Colin

    In my book that's advice.

  14. Let's just be clear about this...I was told by the house-holder that it was fly-tipping and from a legal point of view it was...if I had done that I'm sure none of you would be making excuses for me..

Oh and they put the bags in the garden and left the wheelie bins out on the pavement causing an obstruction....

As for any of your other comments and cheap shots at me...1/10 for effort try harder guys x

I don't see any of the comments as cheap shots at you smartieno1, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but it is becoming more and more apparent that you find it difficult to deal with people that disagree with you.

  15. Drivers' should know the routes .... How large is Hereford? People seem to want to make this into a racism issue?

I agree that taxi drivers should know the routes, REGARDLESS of where they are from or whether they are foreign. In London, cabbies have to sit an extensive examination before given their licence. Hereford should be the same and they no taxi driver should be able to refuse a fair because of its distance.

  16. So what if the driver is not from Hereford? I have just come back from Germany and even though the tai driver was local he was not familiar with a restaurant and also had to refer to his SatNav. I think you have an issue with foreign taxi driver by the sound of it Roger, get in the real World my friend! It does not matter about Colour, Race or Nationality, that has nothing to with it and I am shocked in this day and age people like you still discriminate. :Surprised_32:  This topic is about taxi drivers including non 'foreign' drivers refusing short trips.

Ditto and that is all I shall say.
