As I stated the town clerk said they cost £1.800 each plus £200 each for the maps and installation which has not happened. I am still waiting for comformation of this from Cllr Edwards, you have also to consider the extra cost of each bench and waste bins that has been installed, I am still waiting for the total cost of the latter to be sent to me, by Cllr Edwards.

Colin, having read your post about the noticeboards I have asked the Town Clerk how much the notice boards at the Oval and by Blackmarston Road cost he has replied: around £1.800 each, each map cost £100 to print and a further £100 each for the glasier to install them. I have now asked him why the maps have not been installed. I had asked Cllr Edwards the same question but to date he has not answered my email. There has been seating benches and new waste bins installed as well but I was given the cost of the other items.

Apparently there were two accidents one at the bottom od Aylestone Hill and another on the new Bridge the traffic was at a standstill again because of this, hence no buses.

We are talking about Tesco Belmont, I have seen many disabled people trying to park. What is needed are more parking spaces here not less. Trying to find a parking space on a busy day is horrendous!!!
-
Looking at the photo where the crain is, is this not the parking area for people with disabilities that they are destroying!

I have today got in touch with Liz Thompson at Amey, asking her why nothing has been done about the dead posts which is now nearly 5 months since I reported this and although I had been given a works number nothing has been done. She has again stated she will get in touch with the 'team' who supposed to be doing the work. I wait with bated breath for a satisfactory reply!!

Hunderton Bridge Hereford - >>>Update!<<<
Glenda Powell replied to Victor Wright's topic in Hunderton
It has taken them long enough, and they have put the fence up asked for. Lets see if they now do all the other work I have asked for over the last 6 months if not longer. -
I said the same thing because I quoted the works number I was given, and yes although I sent them a set of photo's ( which the number has increased now) I also told them to look on here atall the comments!!!
-
Although I have been away from council due to the fact I was in hospital 6 weeks until Tuesday. I contacted Amey asking why nothing has been done, they said they could not see from the photo's where the redundant post are located. A poor excuse for not doing the work!!!

As the quality of the bags have become very poor I am happy to buy my own. Although the council has not indicated an alternative I would not be in agreement if they considered charging for black bags as they do for the green bags.

External Improvements to Cornish Flats in Newton Farm
Glenda Powell replied to Glenda Powell's topic in Newton Farm
Colin, it is about 15 years if not more since I had my new windows in my cornish property, so they are well in need of replacement, they are not closing properly anymore. -
Herefordshire Housing Ltd have appointed Thomas Vale Construction of Stourport-on-Severn to undertake the energy improvements to the Pre-renforced Concrete (PRCs) two storey flats in Newton Farm. The work consists of installing an external insulated render system to the concrete walls of the cornish properties, fitting a new ventilation system to reduce condensation internally, re-roofing the properties including installing loft insulation, replacing the existing double glazed windows with a modern efficient type and in a few properties installing new boilers where required. These energy efficiency measures will help to reduce fuel costs and make the properties warmer. A grant was secured by Herefordshire Housing for this project in excess of £1.4 million, approximately half the cost of undertaking this work. This is good news for their tenants as it means that any savings on this project can be spent elsewhere to improve the lives of other residents. The project is planned to commence in the latter half of May 2012 and it is hoped to complete the work to all properties by the end of November 2012.

Hunderton Bridge Hereford - >>>Update!<<<
Glenda Powell replied to Victor Wright's topic in Hunderton
Their contract is coming up for renewal soon, lets see what happens -
Could not agree more Chris about the traffic, the lights should never have been put there in the first place. Anyone know what happened on Good Friday afternoon, I went into town on bus all lights were RED and the build up of traffic was on both the A49, A465 and both bridges everything was at a stanstill.

Hunderton Bridge Hereford - >>>Update!<<<
Glenda Powell replied to Victor Wright's topic in Hunderton
Colin, I walked along the GWW yesterday lunchtime taking note of things to be done, frankly i am annoyed this work has not been done, this is the 6th time I have reported this, and this time I have bypast the officers and gone straight to their manager. let's see how long it will take again. -
Thank you for the recent email over the past two day with Mrs Harris ( Muir Housing) reply. I also sent you the information I received from Amey, it is very frustrating that all requests to cut this tree back is ignored!
-
I have had a reply by phone this afternoon, a works number has been raised for the inspection / removal of the various posts across Newton Farm / GWW that has been identified. In regard to the graffeti on the fence an officer from Amey will be visiting the house the fence belongs to to ask for the removal of graffeti.

Proposed new car park and cycleway, Waterfield Road
Glenda Powell replied to megilleland's topic in Newton Farm
none of the local Cllrs have a vote. The police officer report does not form part of the planning papers for the meeting. I have pointed this out to the senior planning officer stating if the police report is not added the debate cannot happen or a decision made because ALL information will not be in front of the committee.- 38 replies

My answer is the two councillor and myself ARE NOT PART OF THE CONSERVATIVE ADMINISTRATION so please don't class All councillor the same. I agree the administration should be sorting out the traffic problem, but don't be mistaken Asda who belong to the American Walmart company they are not in difficulty, they are in competition with the other supermarket chain in Belmont. Why not look at all the other objections to this application through the link on this website they are making very good points, including the elderly people living with the continual noise on their doorstep.

I have to agree with the two Cllrs for Hinton & St.Martins ward who wrote in the HT this week against Asda filling station. In 2003 when the Asda application came before the Central Planning Committee the area they want to put the filling station on was for housing, the traffic lights installation was a part of the planning application at that time therefore it is doubtful that a condition in the present application will be to remove or perminantly turn the lights off! The traffic congestion at this point as everyone agrees is unacceptable to the people coming from the South of the city. A filling station at Asda will only make the matter worse!
