  1. The issue is the amount of people who uses their cars just to go down the road. The issue is having a ring road that goes through the city and no the SLR will make no difference. As for the tram idea that will benefit one part of the city and will anyone use it anyway? I think not because they do not use the buses wqe have got so why would they use a tram? The other thing who would pay for it?
  2. If you value your life you will not cycle in Hereford, I used to cycle before I was ill and I have thought about taking the bike back out with the traffic and the idiots on the road who seems to think the rules do not apply to them. I think I will stick to walking.
  3. This road built or not will make little difference to me if any as I do not drive and I do not live that side of the river. But I will have my say. This SLR like the city link road is nothing to do about congestion, they will not do anything what so ever to lessen the traffic in fact they will make it worse. What this is about is building more houses so the council can get more money into their pockets via council tax. it will not create more jobs, that is a load of bull from the council as normal. What we will have is a over populated city that do not have the infrastructure to cope, there are no jobs, the Hospital can not cope with the population as it is, there are no shops, if you think the Old market is great then take the blinkers off, it is the same stuff as any other city, there is nothing in Hereford that other cities do not have. Even our swimming pool don't have diving boards now, I am shocked we still have a swimming pool. We have burnt out shops in the city centre which is being rebuilt by a company that have the same name in as the company that went bankrupt as far as I can see, if they are ever rebuilt and it have taken years to do that. The council do not give two hoots about any of us, they really don't they say they care about jobs and yet do compulsory purchase on premises where jobs are lost, well done Herefordshire council, you really are a load of, i won't say it, it is too explicit for this forum. you do not listen, you grab as much money as you can from us but you never listen to a word, we all knew what the outcome of the planning permission would be for the SLR, you did not need to sit down for a four hour meeting as you all made up your mind. Well I hope you will be happy when Hereford dies a death, not that it is really living anyway, Plenty of people I know, certainly the younger ones can not wait to get out of here and to be honest if I was younger in better health I would be gone, because there is nothing here. Disagree all you like on here, I know that people who are on this forum seems to be unable to accept any criticism of Hereford, I really do not care. Hereford used to be a lovely city, but politicians have spoiled it, but that is normal for politicians, It is a wful city now, boring, filthy, smelly and to be honest I can see why people leave.
  4. i will try and get there this year, not working on that weekend. i do like the old Beer on the Wye.
  5. Elected mayors are elected by the public and are not just a figure head which is what out Mayor is, when i say elected i mean something like the London Mayor.
  6. Really, did we have a election for him then? I did not think we did.
  7. We really need to have a elected mayor like they do in other cities if we are going to keep a Mayor, otherwise there is no need for one.
  8. While I agree that the road will do nothing to the traffic and may make it worse as it will be dumping it directly onto Edgar street and I also agree that it will be taking car parking space away. I do not feel that it is the councils responsibility to provide parking space for Hereford FC, No other facility would expect this, the courtyard hasto have it's own carpark for instance.
  9. From what I understand it will still be collected every couple of weeks, so if it is the council doing this i expect they use the same lorry they use now. I doubt they will get rid of the green bags, many people have no space for bins and if how many would want to pay an annual charge anyway? Already pay enough as it is. The three-week collection couple be a possibility, other places have gone over to it, but there is enough rubbish being dumped as it is, three weeks will just make it worse.
  10. I think the person got their bags from the town hall, I got mine from Franklin house, so maybe it is a flyer for this private firm. It would not work out for me, I only have a small garden and most of the rubbish is grass, with a bit from a bush now and again.,
  11. I was chatting to a neighbour this morning over a coffee and saying I need to pop into town to get some green garden rubbish bags, now according to my neighbour, someone she knows had a letter when she got some green bags to say that there is or will be an option of a wheeled bin that you pay per month or year for garden rubbish that will be collected fortnightly. I did not get the letter myself when I got my bags today, I can not see anything about it on the council website, do anyone know about this? The person who got the letter worked it that it would cost them more to have the bin than to have green bags, as I said this is just what I have heard from a neighbour. I have steps, so having wheeled bins is not a good option for me, but just being nosy really.
  12. I am pretty sure I have not said anything about traffic calming as it makes little difference to me as I don't drive. i do think both link roads are a waste of money, but then so do many other people. I have nothing against restaurants apart from the fact is that seems to be all we have here, I am not a restaurant person myself, I will pop into spoons now and again and that is about it. I prefer to go and have a pint than sit in a restaurant. Humanity, well most just annoys me because they do not care about anyone else, only have to look by the Co-op by me, put double yellow lines down and yet people still park there as if they are someone special and double yellows have no meaning for them, then you get the ones that park on the pavement and people have to go onto the road with pushchairs and wheelchairs. those are just the one who drives. Royalty, loads of people who would prefer this country to be a republic, what is wrong with that? Not negative, just speaking my mind which some people do not like, because it does not fit in with their opinions. It don't mean I am right, it just my opinion, but I probably am right :) Have to be real ale, i do not like that artificial stuff with gas in :) Anyway, I got to go to bed, some of us have work in the morning, to earn money to pay the council to spend it on rubbish
  13. Depends on what is included for that fiver, A fiver is not that much these days, to be honest. Not that I would go to anything to celebrate the queen or any of the royal family birthday.
  14. Yes, but not that much. I have no idea what happened there. I meant that I had this saturday gone off, but if the carnival was then I would not have felt like going as I am working on Sunday, which is today. I have the whole weekend off when the carnival is here, so I may feel more like going.
  15. Thats ok then, I may have a wander and have a look if the weather is nice, I have next weekend off. I got tomorrow off, but not sure if I could be bothered tomorrow as back at work on sunday.
  16. I thought it was next week on the 30th?
  17. Ok, just had a email from Herefordshire council saying Many thanks for your query. The revised Traffic Regulation Order for Kingsway comes into effect on Friday 22nd April 2016 so our enforcement officers will be able to patrol from that date. So until the 22nd it seems like nothing can be done, but we wait and see if anything is done after then. I say it won't Get used to people parking where they want, even here, they see a caravan in the driveway and think they can park in front and there is a dropped kerb. I give permission for my next door neighbour to park out side the drive as I do not drive. The caravan is not mine, it is here for storage
  18. Sounds about right, but then there is no one around to police it, Traffic wardens or what ever they are called these days have to walk a bit further than normal, you can't have them doing that, their poor little legs.
  19. i do not know why we really need a load of these flags all over the place anyway, they look awful and tacky, I also do not why we are celebrating someone's birthday that have had, to be honest a good lifestyle paid for by the tax payers.
  20. He broke the law, but i do not think he should have got to prison when we have people that have a record as long as your arm and yet the judges still let the stay on the streets.
  21. ah, permits, another money spinner for the council, people having to pay to park outside their own home.
  22. What about the ones who cam in before their country joined the E.U, will they be told to go back as well? Be a bit unfair considering they had to fight tooth and nail to here in the first place and yes I do know of a polish woman that had to go through hoops to get here. She does get annoyed about how easy it is now fdor people to come to live and work over here. I am on the side of getting out of the E.U, we should have been asked years ago, but I do worry about people who have made a effort to get here and not just flashed a passport/I.D card and walked in.
  23. I wonder if they have solved the problems of them slipping in cash machines as they have not got the same grip as paper ones. The £5 note going plastic is a good idea, it will last longer and I will not have to Iron them when I forget to take them out of my pocket and wash them :) While I don't use them that much, self scan checkouts may also have problems with them, I presume they have been tested.
  24. You don't want to know, ok maybe you do, according to the Register in a Article from 2014, it could £15 to £20 million. i don't like it to be honest, looks like a Euro, like the £2 ones. I hope they don't have the same problems they had with the £2 coin when it was launched. Talking of which have anyone seen a £2 coin for a while?
