  1. That is not where the issue is in my view ... It's rather like blaming the ground staff at BB for 4 ft. long grass ... It's all really at a Management/Finance/Govt. level ... And everyone knows it!

    Gas Hole

Will the gas hole cause as much chaos tomorrow as it did today? Edgar Street ... Northbound ... A49
  3. I was on the train and then Bill Tanner got on at Leominster! I recognised him! (historical spot) There was a piece from Bill on the web today about County Child Care stuff ... If the authorities get an 'adequate' rating then that would be a result!
  4. I've got a standard large bin and quite often it starts getting pretty full, pretty quick ~ as I try to recycle as much as I can ... I know the advice is not to crush the cans and stuff but that's not practical so I crush the contents by pressing down on the contents with a bin lid (so as not to cause injury to myself). In dire emergencies I would jump up and down on the lid by climbing into the bin. Only do this if you are able bodied ;-)
  5. 'Sponsored post' just scrolled across my Facebook for this ... Just for info!
  6. £5 seems a bit steep! I'll swerve that! In as straight a line as possible! ;-)
  7. In fact just checked and the Rotary Website is 'down' ... So it may come back up ... together with the poster ...
  8. Dunno where the image/poster disappeared to ... I suppose the site I was linking to may have removed it ...
  9. When I'm on the train (frequently) I'm amazed at the sheer number of trampolines in peoples back gardens! I'd say 90% looked like they were used once ... ie clapped out and forgotten ... Falling apart and just an eyesore!
  10. Ferret Racing at Withington Village Hall Saturday 17th May -7.30 £12.50 inc food, licensed bar Tickets from Kevin Hewison 01432 850074 kevinhewison@btopenworld.com In Aid of "End Polio Now" and Rotary Foundation. For info ...
  11. I've no reason to disbelieve his pledge. I doubt he will stand next time. I think Mr. Longmore is too ill (old) to justify standing again and his appointment of his mate last time would be toxic to any re-election campaign. When he leaves Office he will be scrutinised by the HT/Shropshire Star/Worcester News about that Pledge if it hasn't been fulfilled ... It might of been but I've not seen any mention of it in the press ...
  12. Anyone remember this gimmick! I saw one slung between the tracks at Hereford Railway Station at the time (2010) I doubt they collected enough gum to make even one bike tyre! BBC
  13. You seem to have attributed a quote to me which I never made. The quote was actually this ... 'I told Debenhams this by way of feedback on their Twitter account which was acknowledged in the spirit in which the info. was given.' I never actually said whether the communication was public or private but assumed people would presume it was Public - which it was. I never said it was private or gave the impression it was. It wasn't a moan as I couldn't give a sh!t personally. It was feedback to Debenhams as I thought a crowd of uniformed staff gathered at that particular location (smoking) sent out a negative impression of the shop. It wasn't a criticism of smoking. It was an observation about staff behaviour that could be construed as 'slacking'. Here is the tweet: At any large shop you are always going to get smokers' in the mix so it's up to the shop to manage their staff needs. And balance that with promoting their brand and exuding confidence in customer service. Which seems to have fell flat on it's arse (for whatever reason) in the food moan on the other thread. As for Bill Longmore then don't start me on him! He got elected on a 14.54% turnout so obviously no mandate as such. I wish him well in his recovery from illness but his shady appointment of his crony Barrie Sheldon was not well received by me. Nor by MP's ... He has been the PCC in recent months having been elected by no one. Total fiasco! Guardian Has he donated that £20K yet ? Election Pledge
  14. A visitor review after a visit to Hereford ... Via Twitter ...
  15. This is all chaos. The contract must have stipulated minimum grass cutting ? 3 cuts is stupidly low as grass grows! I think I might just end up posting long grass pics to Herefordshire Council!
  16. Debenhams are a large enough organisation to realise the implications of opening a new store .... Especially on a BH. I've got very little sympathy for them from a customer point of view Paul ~ this sounds like a half baked preparation exercise to me ... Customers will always vote with their feet (or moan on the web) ... I obviously would not condone abuse of staff tho.
  17. Debenhams are aware of this ... ;-) Add this to my moan about half the staff on cigarette breaks on the A49 outside their fire exit! In fairness I think they have got a grip on that after I tweeted them! *Had to edit that post as the censor blanked out the word f8g
  18. The Council tweeted me this afternoon to alert me to their news release of today ... Herefordshire Council This was in response to me sending a picture to them showing what Churchill Gardens looked like AFTER it had been cut yesterday ...
  19. I don't think I'm a keyboard warrior as you put it .... They are mainly anonymous ... I don't think I am trying too hard to conceal my identity ... Ridiculous swipe I think ...
  20. If I got a major moan about Morrison's I tweet them. As the whole World can read the moan I always get rung up by the duty manager to smooth me over to maintain my custom. :-) I was in there last night and had to dart behind the newspaper stand by the kiosk to avoid two fella's in suits waiting to try and sell me some broadband stuff I don't need ... I've noticed that as well as I take my dogs there sometimes ... Not very often as it's crawling with dogs' in Aylestone Park and one of my dogs' doesn't really like many other dogs'. I think it's a good use of free parking and if you're a student then you should generally be fit enough to walk up that hill to college if you are able bodied. I'd be very disappointed at any parking charge there until the car parking/road are surfaced properly as it's like the surface of the Moon ...
  21. The shop proudly states on it's shelf banner that Export is being sold at a 'cheaper' price of £4.25 for 4 x 440 ml cans'. What it doesn't say is that apart from the last couple of weeks when they were £4.50 they were being sold at £3.50 for months. So in real terms a 75p increase. Highly dubious marketing in my view. I don't think they are helped when 18 cans' of the same item are presently £12.50 at Asda as a 'roll back' promotion ....
  22. Yeah ... Usually by the large Memorial at the rear of that shot. Plus the grass is a lot longer now in the burial ground ... ;-) It is. But it's also a Public Place ... Hence the photo's of the cops wandering around it in the news photo's ...
  23. More interesting, to me anyway, was this letter ... Sorry state of affairs OVER the past few months I have noticed many changes in our town, such as there are overgrown plants and weeds everywhere. Also I am very disappointed to see no flowers on roundabouts this year. I do not see why my parents should pay money for nothing to be improved. I think the council needs to think wisely about spending money on things and whether they will be necessary. I am also very upset to hear that several complaints about an overflowing drain at Elton’s Marsh, Canon Pyon Road. It has not been fixed after people have complained. There are obviously many people that are disgusted and so am I. Potholes are everywhere too and there will be serious accidents if they are not filled. Thank you for reading my letter. NADIA DOUTHWAITE, age 10, Elton’s Marsh, Canon Pyon Road Hereford Times
  24. Probably not to be honest ... Blacks passage seems to be a bit of a ghetto for the street drinking ... Plus at Cross Street just the far side of the Victoria Street subway ...
  25. Perhaps Kip Waistell (registered on this forum) needs to issue the Council with some more Environment Notices ... ;-) Hereford Times
