  1. I've just been around there (see next post)

    This is how I see it working.

    Steels approaching the roundabout . 1, 2, 3, 4

    1 = Edgar Street

    2 = Edgar Street right / New Market Street L

    3 = New Market Street R / A49 L Ross

    4 = A49 R Belmont

    Facing Tesco exit, new lanes; 1, 2, 3

    1 = Into Tesco Buses / A49 L Ross

    2 = A49 R Belmont

    3 = Whitecross

    So imagine it exactly the same as before. Now all you have is the additional 3rd lane for those wanting to peel off to Whitecross and not sit in the A49 traffic for 2 hours.

    So..

    Coming from Steels to go to Ross Road or Tesco Carpark, you go in the 3rd lane which becomes the 1st lane facing tesco bus exit

    Coming from Steels to go to Belmont or Asda, you go in the 4th (furthest right) lane which then becomes the middle lane facing the tesco bus exit.

    Coming from Steels to go to Whitecross, you go in the 4th (furthest right) lane which then becomes the middle lane facing the tesco bus exit, pulling off right into the 3rd/far right lane for W/Cross

    If anyone has an up to date diagram, I'd be happy to draw out the lines

    I think your in the wrong lane, if you are coming from Victoria Street (Steels Side) and you want to go around the roundabout to come back over the bridge towards Abergavenny/Belmont then ideally you would need to be in the 3rd lane (NOT the 4th Furthest on the right!) follow this lane around and you will not need to change lanes at all.

    Colin is correct in post number 9 here

  2. I notice regular drinkers sitting on peoples graves in Commercial Rd grave yard, personally, I think this is disgusting, I witnessed one man take a wee up against one of the head stones, this is in a public place! They she be moved from here immediately! Half of these people do not want help in my experience and handing them out free money is certainly not the answer. I felt quite intimidated walking through the graveyard earlier in order to visit a friend in hospital.

  3. The western route seems the most viable option, there are too many barriers going the eastern route, you have to cross the river several times and you would need to raise the roads over the lugg meadows, it just ain't going happen that way! I visited the three counties today and had a chat with people, its a bit of a catch 22 because in order to get planning you need to have funding and there is not much coming from central gov, however, there is some un allocated money available for 2022, but a plan is required before they can apply, so the only way the can get some of the money is from new homes...

  4. I would have to say I agree with stupidfrustraition

    Back when the ip sisters was open poor mr ip would regularly have to intervene because of drunken people fighting & abusing his wife.same used to happen when the crystal rooms was open in the takeaways down bridge st.

    so unfortunately when you have a lot of people who have been drinking heavily late @ nite it is often accompanied with some sort of disorder too!

    Although I don't think it should be left to one security firm to do the job as that would creat a monopoly in my opinion?!

    Yes but this was back in the days when most of the clubs in Hereford all closed at the same time 1am!! So everyone would come out at the same time from the various establishments. Read through the various replies, because since the licensing laws were relaxed this is no longer the case and there is no mass exodus of people like there used to be years ago.

    They don't stop football matches taking place do they! It's the same principle, masses of people and you will often have trouble.

    You will always have weekend youngsters having the odd feud or fight that's just human nature after a few drinks, but to prevent these traders being able to stay open is totally wrong in my opinion, most of these places only tick over during the week and rely on their weekend trade. My son lives in St Owen St and rarely does he see big problems at night.

    Back to the other comment made, it's okay then to buy cold food but not hot???

  5. I have heard today that some elderly residents have got confused as to who has to pay and who does not in regard to bedroom tax, if you are over 65 like myself you do not pay. Or If you live in a property that now doesn't meet your needs and you wish to move into something smaller. Please contact me and I will help you!!!

    Thank you for the brief explanation CVP at least now I know my mum is safe, I was a little confused but she is 72 so all good.

  6. I know where that is ..I live at Romset Drive and unlike you we do not benefit from trees or acoustic fencing so I would hate to see any further development of this area....

    I have made my points clear in the other thread and wondered what your thoughts are?

    Romsey Drive is the other side of the road from us. There are trees at the back of Tesco but they do not run all the way along, but we do have the fence I suppose. We have had a look at the plans and to be honest we have no real objections here, like I said before, the proposed changes are quite minimal and I think it will actually reduce noise if anything and to be fair, we don't suffer noise on a large scale. I think where you are the noise levels from Lorries would be worse? But we knew what to expect moving in here, Tesco's was here before these houses were complete, so we were always aware to expect deliveries.

  7. Just looked at planning apps for this place.Permission was turned down twice.

    First refusal.   In the absence of a development proposal in accordance with policy HBA6  the proposed demolition

    of the existing structure is considered contrary to HBA7 o the Herefordshire UDP.

    Second refusal The proposal involves the formation of a vehicle access onto monkmoor street,owing to the narrowness of the street,inability to turn a vehicle within the site, lack of pedestrian refuge and poor visibility the formation of access here is considered prejudicial to the interest of highway safety.

    And what? This had nothing to do with the work being halted.

  8. Unfortunately, CCTV doesn't stop you getting your face kicked in, stabbed or robbed.

    I'm not so like minded, but appreciate the win for funding.

    No you are correct the same as speed camera's do not stop people from speeding but it is a deterrent and will help identify any criminals. They have to work on better quality images though and in this day of technology 1080p Full HD is easy enough with the right equipment.

  9. M Preece, I did not want to go into personal details but now I must to answer you,I have a lot of food allergies, also food I cannot eat because of medication. I have a very bland diet of chicken, beef and salmon.

    Cllr thank you for the explanation about your unfortunate allergies but there was really no need to go into detail. I am sure chicken/beef sandwiches or rolls can be provided without any hassle, be good to have you there.

  10. The reason why there was chaos Jud is because they who know best thought it a great idea to install temp lights half way around roundabout and turning a blind eye to the mayhem they were causing.

    Correct  :Happy_32:  I still don't understand why they never turned them all off while they had the opportunity.

    I have thought of another group name;

    Sequence Free

    or

    Lifeless Lights
