  1. This must be so scary for the women of Hereford. I hope he is caught sooner rather than later, sick bastard! Oh and please lets not hear when they eventually catch up with him that he has led a deprived life and all all that crap!

I hope they catch him but he will probably get a slap on the wrist what they should do with these criminal sex perverts is castrate them!!

  2.  There's a lot of simple uninformed prejudice on this forum, and it's pretty ugly.

    Welcome to the forum Osmosis.

I am please to see you offered an apology for you outburst which was quite frankly unnecessary.

With respect, what makes your comments more informed than other members comments? Simply because another person does not agree with you makes it pretty ugly here?  This is a forum and not everyone will not share the same views, so lets continue with debate.

  3. Good job the Poles and Italians were not sent home after the war they brought vital skills and hard work  to this country.

There were 3.7 million children living in poverty in the UK in 2013-14. That's 28 per cent of children, or 9 in a classroom of 30.1."

Are there really 3000 suitably trained bilingual families up running and ready to give a warm loving home to children who will be extremely frightened desparate and vulnerable.

Who would police this Social Services or charities and who pays?

I am not saying no but praticalities have to be considered and this country has not got a good record for caring for vulnerable children.  Only 50 years children from this country were still being sent to Australia via charities to what they were told to be better lives many were used and abused and had horrible lives losing all contact with their blood relatives.

No innocent human being should have to live in the squalid conditions these people are enduring in Calais but I do not know the answer. This country can only do so much and sadly this country has fallen too behind in it's own housekeeping to open it's arms too widely.

I agree with Denise, we can help many of these people and we are helping, could we do more? Possibly, but I am not in favour on an open door policy that Germany adopted and Angela Merkel is losing votes and popularity because of the problems her policy has brought with it. Many migrants are from north Africa and further a field, so these people are not all from war torn countries, it is a difficult situation and we cannot sort out the worlds problems, we are a small island in comparison to some countries and although we could do a little more, there has to be a limit. I also think Mick has a good point. Many Polish people were fighting along side us in the war including many Polish pilots.

  4. I disagree, a friend of mine has just opened a new hair salon exactly there, she moved from the smaller shop in the same row to the new bigger shop. She has spent money and invested in her business and is very busy. The new salon looks beautiful, so a lot of these places just need money and someone with a vision. It is easy to walk away but I do think that the landlords could do a lot more. The footfall along this stretch of the road is more than you may think, this is the main walkway down to the subway into town and people walking from town to Sainsbury's and Whitecross

I am a regular at Butterfly, the new shop is lovely  :Thumbs-Up:

  5. Well actually I think it does matter. Nobody should be parked on a pavement and certainly not near a pedestrian crossing. I am sure if this was your vehicle dippy you would be booked within minutes. All the emergency services do a fantastic job 99% of the time and they all have my utmost respect but they also have to abide by the law. The public would be up in arms if someone got hurt because a vehicle had mounted the pavement, regardless of who the vehicle belongs too.

I tend to agree with Mick, although we do not know the circumstances as to why this vehicle was parked here, it does not appear to be an emergency or the blues lights would be on, personally, I think they should be on considering where they are parked looks hazardess.

I appreciate the comments that mystery has made but is this just hearsay?

  6. DILLIGAF, no point in being rude, just trying to get a view point from some of you. The planners and councillors can only make a decision on what is there now not what you or others may want to see.

We have the present road junction/ traffic lights situation. So we have to look at the application with that in mind. When I meet with ASDA, I will ask if they are prepared to persuade Highways England, to alter road junction and traffic lights.

I will also ask them how they reached the vehicle movement figures they have presented to the planners. I will let them know you think they are incorrect.

Thank you all for your factual comments.

Just to clarify my comments of these figures, I actually mean that the movements of traffic would be a lot less than 48% NOT MORE.

  7. I would love to know where they get these figures from? I am with the other members on this one, I do not buy into the view that having a garage will increase traffic movement by 40% at peak times. Anyone wanting to use a garage here is more than likely going to be already on this stretch of road anyway, so having a garage will have very little effect in my opinion.

There is no objections to the proposed flats that will be built where the Ship Inn is and I see no difference here.

The figures that these people come up with are mind boggling. This application being discussed is for a garage nothing to do with any housing or flats as far as I am concerned. To answer the original question put to us by Councillor Chappell, I travel along the Belmont Road and across the river everyday to get to work and if Asda build a garage I really cannot see that making much of an impact of the traffic, I tend to agree on the side of what has already been written here by other members. A garage will make very little or no difference at all to the traffic congestion, it cannot get any worse! I do so see motorists flocking to this particular part of Hereford just because a garage has been built. The majority of motorists would be existing customers of Asda or passing traffic only.

  8. I remember the topic that bobby47 started called the Shame Of The European Union...It should be renamed to the European Union SHAME!

Angela Merkel - this is blood on your hands.

One of the Paris terrorists was a Syrian refugee who passed through Greece in October! So where are all the looney left wing tree huggers now?

I could not agree more, Angela Merkel is not looking so smug now. :Blushing_32: I knew this would happen, all too quick to let so called refugees into Europe without any form of ID in many cases!! More to come I fear.

  9. A lot of these pubs need updating, I know funds are always a problem but the Treacle Mine was never going to attract many new clients without a facelift. Sad to see another pub close but I do think the breweries could do a lot more.
