  1. There was a power cut around the Old market area last night and this morning, might of been the reason

I rang again this afternoon and waited again this time I hung up after 6 minutes. We were in town after so i visited instead it was quicker! Not the end of the world of course but just was shocked at being kept waiting on the line for that amount of time, even worse when your paying for the bloody call as well.

  2. I Have telephoned Herefordshire Council this morning on the number listed Tel 260500. Automated answer, (which really bugs me because now I am paying to listen to their silly messages) I waited over 14 minutes and all I kept hearing was a message saying a customer service representative will be with your shortly, alternatively I can go to their website. I waited and waited, eventually after 18 minutes I hung up in frustration. 18 minutes!! This is a joke it really is. :Thumbs-Down:

  3. personally I think we are going to get a surprise when they are caught because it will be someone close and known in the area. I am also not convinced that the murder and recent attack are not linked although the police say no. Its to coinsidential two attacks within two months  within yards of the same area.It was obvious to me  the people living in Hunderton  they feel frightened and the meeting did nothing to reassure them, the meeting should of been held a month ago, as other residents said to me after the meeting ended. we were also not impressed by the councillors on the panel, and Cllr Powell said in answer to a question 'he did not know the answer'. He should also know as a cabinet member that it is Balfour Beatty who has the contract for keeping the GWW and other areas under control. Also when he said he walked the whole length of the GWW on the way home, he had a long walk home as he lives in the country.

I disagree, I thought the meeting offered quite a bit of detail in particular the information given about cctv and it was good to have an update on the police enquiries thus far. I appreciate you not being impressed by the councillors but don't be blinkered because they were unfair in my opinion to you. I think Cllr Chappell was good to call this meeting but I did feel that people were being rushed and it only lasted an hour, surely they should of been happy to carry on until ALL questions were asked, I wanted to ask a question but towards the end I felt I best not put up my hand as it was clear time was running out, under the circumstances and if the goal was to reassure local people then no time limit should of been applied in my opinion, i'm sure the panel would of been happy to stay another 30 mins if required.

  4. Meeting was very informative, I thought Cllr Chappell was a little rude to Glenda and so was Cllr Powell, no need for that but to be fair to Cllr Chappell calling this meeting was a very good idea and there were a lot of local people present.

Colin spoke well and asked the right questions in my opinion and he was well received, also good to see that Hv campaign with support from GVP when she was a councillor has paid off with the announcement that the first cctv in going in next month with other smaller mobile ones too.  :Thumbs-Up:

Some people got angry and stormed out.

Good to see local councillors present and a big turnout from IOC.

  5. Sounds like the Twix advert Denise ha ha.  Love this story about the fuel station there, how wonderful, if you could grab some additional photographs that would really be good.

I had same thoughts Victor lol nice story, nice to see they are revamping the tanks etc

  6. Chris, My good friend The Professor aka Gdj is right. I've read the documents from front to cover and the Councils actions are illegal and clearly the consultation wasn't done properly to satisfy their statutory responsibility and comply with the law.

Please our Chris, kick this ball about for a little while and see where it takes you. If ever there's something to bite and chew on and kick up a fuss it's this disclosure from Gdj. You've got the teeth Chris as I quickly discovered when you joined these pages.

Give it a go lad. Start biting!

    Good luck Chris.

  7.

I think I just post that if you take up 2 seats you have to pay for them I don't have a problem with that! After all you'd be taking up 2 seats!

I am not sure what the limit would be but they would take an average I assume.

You must have a idea of what that average would be is it someone who takes up 2 seats or someone who can just get about fit into 1 seat?

If the answer is someone who takes up 2 seats? Then they are already paying extra because they have had to have 2 seats & not one?!

So you agree then that people who take up two seats because they are overweight should pay for the extra seat/weight.

Well either way, if the passenger is grossly overweight in my opinion they should pay more, either by purchasing 2 seats or by paying for extra weight, how its implemented I am not bothered.

  8. A part of this application will be trading history will be considered, have they opened till 4.30am in the past and have there been any issues associated with the premises when they have traded later, also the residents will have an input as to wether they want a premises trading until 4.30am where they live. Lots of factors to be taken into account.

I wish them the best of luck with the application.

Always get me that one about residents, this is the city centre, they chose to live there, knowing that there are pubs, late night clubs and bars surrounding them. You probably pay more to for living in the city centre, if its peace and quiet they seek then they should of looked at living in a much quieter location. Good luck with this application this city needs to get into the 21st century.

  9. Here's a look at how a few different airlines deal with the "customer of size:"

    • Midwest: Like Southwest, passengers are encouraged to know their needs in advance. If staff determine that two seats are required, the seat will be sold at the lowest possible fare, with a refund available if there is one or more open seats on the flight.
    • Air France: Passengers with "high body mass" may receive a 25 percent discount on an extra seat, knowing that if they choose to not buy the seat, they may risk not being able to fly.
    • JetBlue: You are required to buy a second seat, and there are no refunds.
    • Delta: The airline "works to accommodate" passengers with special needs. Upon request and availability, it will try to make sure the next seat is unoccupied. However, if the plane is full, you will most likely be asked to leave the flight and buy a second seat on the next available flight. (You can actually count on this being a fairly typical practice on most airlines.)

I just read these few replies people have posted to this topic and having to purchase an extra seats:

In the long run it's an offered service and the airline has the right of refusal to anyone. Paying by the pound is fair just like a flat tax is fair. For every pound you bring on board more fuel is required to get off the ground and fly. It's simple math. If you bring 200 more lbs. on board why should I and anyone else have to pay for you. A pound of flesh vs a pound of fuel, that's what it comes down too. Got nothing to do with genetics or thyroids, it's business. Think of it in terms of an all you can eat buffet or would you charge by the pound of food consumed. Which would be more profitable and fair to you as the owner and fair to the consumer? A flat charge across the board is fare and fair.

Good Lord yes! If you allow yourself to get so fat that you can't fit into an airline seat without your lard spilling into the next seat then you should either go as cargo or take a ship. Or buy two seats.

  10. Amateur teams don't charter there own flights & there are plenty of those who go on tour! as you say not all professional teams will either!

You make the choice of carrying more luggage I'm sure most people don't choose to be overweight?

If your that big you will more than likely take up 2 seat for which you will have to pay for those 2 seats!

Would you give a discount for someone who is underweight?

You say if your weight is in portion to your height & is within a far limit…what would you class that fair limit to be? 1kg,2kg,5kg,10kg etc?

If a team of people are heavier than the agreed limit then they should pay extra, it does not matter that they are the local rugby team, whats that got to do with it? If I was grossly overweight and took up two seats then yes definitely! I would pay for the extra seats, why not? Some airlines are already charging just that.

American airlines passengers whose weight exceeds 250 pounds should know that there are "possible limitations that could result in American not being able to accommodate them." He also states that the airline urges passengers to "recognize ahead of time that they may need to purchase two seats." He also cites the FAA regulation that all airlines adhere to—if you can't snap the seatbelt (after the extension is added, that is) you can't fly.

I am not sure what the limit would be but they would take an average I assume.

  11. You all seem to assume that the students are all so gullible that they will be taken in by the FC and that in the very near future we will have bands of automatons marching into town spreading evil.

Credit young people with a bit more sense

I believe I used the word harass not gullible.

  12. No m.preece I think your flawed with your bigotry view! What about a basketball team or a rugby team there some big fellas would you class them as overweight?

You still can't get away from the fact that your still only allowed the same amount of weight for your luggage as anyone else! & as you say the airline factors in the fuel consumption so they have more than likely factored in that there will be some larger folk on board?!

Well in fairness most teams charter their own flights but if your weight is in proportion to your height and is within a fair limit then there would be no issue. I would actually expect a 7ft guy to be a lot heavier than a 5'8 guy. I am confused with your argument about about only being allowed to have the same weight luggage as anyone else? I can take more weight than other people as long as I am happy to pay for the extra weight? What is your point? On your final point of course the airline has factored in extra fuel for larger people but who is ultimately paying for that extra fuel for those larger folk? You have just contradicted yourself and in turn highlighted the point Katie Hopkins is making

  13. Well whatever your viewpoint it was a clever move because now they have a big site right smack bang in the centre of town close to the college's, the station and of course the potential university project. Once the branding is complete and their gatekeepers are readied, please don't be surprised to see them on the front steps of the cinema especially at " chucking out time".....that's when the college's close for the day and the young walk the walk to town etc and not when the commercial crew are thrown out in the small hours!

Perfect location for them to harass students

  14. A fat tax for people flying on airlines are you serious?? So what about someone who might be anorexic can they get a discount?…it's a bit discriminating besides some flights are not always full but your still only allowed the same amount of weight in luggage.

An airline is a business and yes agreed some flights are not always full. Based upon tickets sales If the plane is only half full then they will load less fuel, if the plane is full they add more fuel to compensate for the extra weight its simple mathematics, so your argument is flawed and Katie Hopkins may just have a valid point here.

  15. Okay okay, can we get back to the topic in hand rather than play bat and ball with Glenda and Cllr Edwards, they clearly do not get on.

So can someone please clarify because I am a little confused, the house was left in a will to a young lady who lived there for a while then just abandoned it? Why would you not sell it and have at least £100k? Even in its current state it would fetch £80k +. Can the council not force action against the owner or force a sale?
