Withy brook is in Lower Bullingham not Belmont, near to Rotherwas.
This whole area is a lot better now, I am pleased the you got it back to it's original state Colin. Good communication with Amey, worth all the effort. -
I also deposit foil in my recycle bin this week and I was not advised or asked to remove it.
So you telling us that the bin men actually open your wheelie bin? because they never open any near me, lorry just picks them up and empties them.
On the stickers provided with the wheelie bins it is quite clear.

Your welcome, and I don't like being fobbed off as you can see :Winking_32:
Good for you, keep up the good work, excellent website

I called Hereford Housing this morning at 9.30am and attempted to contact Mr Peter Brown (CE) I was informed that he is away until Thursday, I was told that the person that I needed to speak with was Paula Kennedy, so I left a message for her to please return my call. By 3pm this afternoon nobody had come back to me, so I telephoned again.
I was informed that they were working out the costs for The Oval and to expect a phone call.
I have just received a phone call from Mr Paul Morey who informs me, that the full cost for the painting of The Oval is £26,500 inc VAT.
I agree with Bill, a little more than I was expecting, seems a lot of money, and money that I feel could of been used better elsewhere.
Thank you Colin for your perseverance, good to see that you will not be fobbed off.

What is wrong with people, some just think they can dump their rubbish and get away with it.

Nothing by the sound of things
No reply about what has been done? -
The Vortex site still belongs to Herefordshire council, I spoke to Colin Birks Property Operations Manager this afternoon he advised the site WILL NOT be sold to anyone for the building of houses. He said the council was considering giving the site to the community, like they have done recently in Ross-on-Wye. Anyone who can bring a business plan to the table for a community centre they would consider, I advised I still had the initial business plan for a multi use centre, he said when I was back at council he would set up a meeting with me.
So what happened at your meeting?

All this money wasted, I am not convinced that many people actually read them.

I expect it will be a stupid amount of money, and yes we have a right to know how much of our money is being wasted :Angry_32:

I saw Cllr Powell here just after I took the above picture, and I explained that although Amey were cutting back weeds and bushes etc, they had not yet tackled the stumps, Cllr Powell informs me, that now, they are not sure if McDonalds own the land where the stumps are located and that the foundry is in the centre of the Newton Brook, and that they need to contact McDonalds to either instruct them to cut down the stumps or Amey will complete the work and invoice McDonalds, which sounds fine, ( I just knew that this would not be done today) I am just confused why this work was carried out last year by Amey, so did they not investigate who actually owns the land back then?
Anyway, I have arrived home from work, and was pleaseantly surprised, that at least what they have done, was done well in all fairness. (with exception to the stumps not being removed).
That said, Cllr Powell did mention to me a week or so ago, that our fly tipper had dumped a whole load of fur tree's in the same place as last year and that someone was going around to discuss pressing charges this time, only nobody was home when they called the other week. I was a little surprised that Amey did not take this away with them today while they were on site and send the culprit the bill, as it is all still there, and looks a right mess!! see below;
That does look a lot better than the other day. Well done Amey
:Thumbs-Up:

Thank you

Why on earth did they not cut them down in the beginning as was asked? they have to spend more time and money again to cut them all again.

H Wilson, I live on Planet earth I assume you do the same! in 2008 when Mr James ask for a yellow box at the junction of Abbotsmead road the A465 was owned by the Highway Agency so it was there decision to either put a yellow box in or not, they obviously felt rightly or wrongly it was not necessary. in 2009 the road was de-trunked and came under the direction of Herefordshire Council and eventually Amey as the council contractor, but the roads are still governed by dept of transport and is strictly regulated by the 'Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002' therefore Amey are following their instructions!
I think you missed the point Cllr
and the point being made was it is clearly not easier to get onto the roundabout judging from the comments made and pictures posted.I might add I was met whilst 'walking around' at the weekend by residents from Belmont who actually thank me for having the signs put in, as they have found it easier to get onto the roundabout now! -
I think if Amey painted some lane guidance around this roundabout as Colin James has suggested it would help. Most of the traffic entering the city is almost already in the right lane, but that lane should be for turning right only, so a right arrow in that lane and a straight on arrow in the left lane I think would help.

As i have stated When I received the diagrams and since!
Ok that's fine, as long as you objected prior to the work being carried out, as Amey in their letter have said that no objections were received, so I was confused and wanted to clarification. Thank you.
-
May I suggest that you contact Joanne Davies at Amey and put your questions direct to her.
In regard to the diagrams sent to councillors:
1. Yes I received the diagrams, I advised they were not very clear.
2. I did object, and ask as I have said for the size to be increased
3. you saw the answer I received that I posted here yesterday.
So when did you object? before or after the work was carried out?

Complete incompetence

Just after I became a councillor eight years ago Albert Heinz offered to pay for a tram line to be put onto the GWW Herefordshire council rejected his offer, a very big mistake in my opinion and I said so at the time.
Typical of Hereford Council - short sighted!
-
I think you will actually find that Mr James originally requested this back in May 2008, so it's taken 3 years!
This is good news and long overdue, but I am not going to hold my breath just yet. :Smile_32:
Hope this is implemented.
-
I agree that this can be frustrating, I do not put my bins out until on the day because the local cats rip open the bags and when they do this, the bin men do not pick up the excess that has been spilled out on the the footpath, which defeats the object really.
-
This is better than nothing and hopefully will help, especially at peak times.
-
I don't care for the other website, it certainly does not reflect the true opinions of the local people, that is why I choose to use this site. "It is what it says on the tin"
-
Meetings and more meetings then all this red tape, no wonder the country is such a state, something so simple as sending someone to spray a yellow square box on a road to make life a little easier for our road users, and after two and a half years then they say no! :Angry_32: how pathetic, really.
The efforts of our councillors is appreciated, but this is just ridiculous.
-
I think Roger Edwards is saying that it looks like you are giving preferences to Cllr Powell ,it is because she is the only councillor on here answering questions. While Cllr Powell is still on here answering everyones questions the other councillors will not come on here.
I can understand why as we all know some of the councillors and we all know which ones they are don't get on with each other :Sad_32: .
It would be nice to have other councillors on here one day and hopefully this will happen in the future as this is a good site
I agree with you on this is a good forum and possibly other councillors will join in the future, but quite frankly, I think it's pathetic and immature it is also very unprofessional. :Sick_32:
How many of you wash your recycling items?
