  1. I saw Cllr Powell here just after I took the above picture, and I explained that although Amey were cutting back weeds and bushes etc, they had not yet tackled the stumps, Cllr Powell informs me, that now, they are not sure if McDonalds own the land where the stumps are located and that the foundry is in the centre of the Newton Brook, and that they need to contact McDonalds to either instruct them to cut down the stumps or Amey will complete the work and invoice McDonalds, which sounds fine, ( I just knew that this would not be done today) I am just confused why this work was carried out last year by Amey, so did they not investigate who actually owns the land back then?

Anyway, I have arrived home from work, and was pleaseantly surprised, that at least what they have done, was done well in all fairness. (with exception to the stumps not being removed).

    That said, Cllr Powell did mention to me a week or so ago, that our fly tipper had dumped a whole load of fur tree's in the same place as last year and that someone was going around to discuss pressing charges this time, only nobody was home when they called the other week. I was a little surprised that Amey did not take this away with them today while they were on site and send the culprit the bill, as it is all still there, and looks a right mess!! see below;

That does look a lot better than the other day. Well done Amey :Thumbs-Up: :Thumbs-Up:

  2. H Wilson, I live on Planet earth I assume you do the same! in 2008 when Mr James ask for a yellow box at the junction of Abbotsmead road the A465 was owned by the Highway Agency so it was there decision to either put a yellow box in or not, they obviously felt rightly or wrongly it was not necessary. in 2009 the road was de-trunked and came under the direction of Herefordshire Council and eventually Amey as the council contractor, but the roads are still governed by dept of transport and is strictly regulated by the 'Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002' therefore Amey are following their instructions!

I think you missed the point Cllr

I might add I was met whilst 'walking around' at the weekend by residents from Belmont who actually thank me for having the signs put in, as they have found it easier to get onto the roundabout now!
and the point being made was it is clearly not easier to get onto the roundabout judging from the comments made and pictures posted.
  3. May I suggest that you contact Joanne Davies at Amey and put your questions direct to her.

In regard to the diagrams sent to councillors:

    1. Yes I received the diagrams, I advised they were not very clear.

    2. I did object, and ask as I have said for the size to be increased

    3. you saw the answer I received that I posted here yesterday.

So when did you object? before or after the work was carried out?

  4. Meetings and more meetings then all this red tape, no wonder the country is such a state, something so simple as sending someone to spray a yellow square box on a road to make life a little easier for our road users, and after two and a half years then they say no! :Angry_32: how pathetic, really.

The efforts of our councillors is appreciated, but this is just ridiculous. :Thumbs-Down:

  5. I think Roger Edwards is saying that it looks like you are giving preferences to Cllr Powell ,it is because she is the only councillor on here answering questions. While Cllr Powell is still on here answering everyones questions the other councillors will not come on here.

I can understand why as we all know some of the councillors and we all know which ones they are don't get on with each other :Sad_32: .

It would be nice to have other councillors on here one day and hopefully this will happen in the future as this is a good site :Thumbs-Up:

I agree with you on this is a good forum and possibly other councillors will join in the future, but quite frankly, I think it's pathetic and immature it is also very unprofessional. :Sick_32:

  6. The Regulatory Committee of Herefordshire Council met to hear The Newton Farm Town Green proposal yesterday 2nd November, unfortunately it was found necessary to defere the hearing, due to insufficent time was alotted to permit this difficult and high-profile matter to be dealth with.

A new date for the hearing will be in either early December or January next year. This will be an all day meeting with a break for lunch to continue in the afternoon.

Thank you for your update but we were already informed yesterday.

  7. No South Wye police after 10pm untill following morning at 7am, the police station front desk is not open until 10am-2pm or 4pm -8pm on a Wednesday.after those hours

you would need to go through the 0300 333 3000 number and ask for Hereford Central Station where they will direct your call.

Not much use if your being attacked at 2am, ok thank you anyway.

  8. You have just asked in a roundabout way,the person who can request this is me. Our old friends Amey clears all the trees and I have requested that they cut the trees back around the light standards, I will have another word on Tuesday at the PACT meeting, the lights were updated in 2006 and are of the regulation standard although yes maybe we could do with a few more. I live very close to the GWW and would not walk there in darkness hours, not that I am suggesting I would get attacked but only that it is dark up there. The police CSO's are supposed to check and to be fair I know they cycle up there but of course they can only work until 10pm.

So no Police are around this area between 10pm and the following morning then?

  9. A friend of mine came home from town along the great western way the other night and commented to me on how scary it was along that walk. The lighting was very poor and could do with more lights being put up and brighter, she also suggested to me that it would be more reassuring if the Police drove along there at various times to check the area, especially when people are walking home alone at night.

How would one go about asking for extra brighter lighting along here and ask the Police to frequent the area at various times? thus reassuring people with their presence?

  10. I would think that the only reason other Councillors do not join this website, when Mavis Edwards was dying she and Cllr Edwards were being slagged off, Cllr Schoffer was slagged off, so I would think it be a good reason for Councillors not to joining this website. The other reason is that Glenda Powell is on hear.

That's a poor excuse, that was only weeks ago, this site has been here for over a year now, nobody was slagging anyone off, they merely raised some questions about some expenses of our public finances, which we have a right to know about, as soon as we all heard of this sad news, the whole topic was removed, which in my opinion was the most respectful thing to do under the circumstances.

I don't understand why a few are having a digg at the one councillor that tries to help, i think we should start having a gripe at the absent ones instead. :Angry_32:

  11. The notice board at the oval can not be repaired it has to be replaced, there is a notice for BV in the widow of the Information Centre I read it last night.

The notice for BV that was in the window seems to have been removed? I was looking in the window last night, there is noting on the door either?
