Colin, is the first picture work done that was done 2 years ago? So why did they not return last year and is this why is it so overgrown now?

The Earl of Wessex during his visit to The Oval Hereford today.



Prince Edward, has visited several locations in Hereford today. The royal visited the Hereford Academy, the Oval in Newton Farm, Hinton Community Centre and the Kindle Centre.
He met residents from South Wye for a community lunch and was treated to dance and choir displays from students and a local dance group, among other things throughout the day.

Where does the Hereford Housing land begin?

Welsh Water is to hold an open evening in Hereford to explain its plans to invest £2 billion in the region.
The event will be at the Kindle Centre at 6pm on Monday, July 15.
The firm will also be displaying information stands in High Town between 10am and 6pm from Monday and Wednesday of that week.

Do not pay, they are totally and utterly unregulated and until such times as the government get their act in order to regulate these sharks i will never pay them either if i get an invoice placed on my car, which has only happened to me once and i ignored them completely. They manipulate and bully the public into paying large sums or unjustified amounts of money. I notice they rarely try to take people to court, just lots of harassment and threatening letters. I agree with the majority on this topic and suggest reading some good cases studies listed on forums, just do a quick search for speculative invoices in Google you will soon find them.

Complete joke and another waste of money, simply because they never listen to the local people. I cannot understand how they can agree something with a Councillor and then go back on their word? you even have her name I am surprised you never had something to say about that Cllr Powell to be honest and if you did say something why are they going back on their word? Have you actually spoken to Ruth Kinsella?

I dont rate Amey in fairness anyway, I think they skimp over lots of things and I really hope that some other company win the next contract

Just goes to show that there is something in Colin's campaign to get these lights turned off. Cannot see why the Council can't trial it for a few months at least.

Don't Colin! Dont congratulate me. Im so bloody tired of moaning but its all so bloody depressing. We can all see what we need and what we want to make our home Hereford better, but, can you get anywhere? Not a bloody chance. We are bloody doomed.

Nowadays, they all drive around in brightly coloured cars with flashing lights. Dressed in a uniform that I can't recognise anymore. The Utility belts carry equipment designed to stun me, gas me, electrocute me and fasten me up and all I want is the Copper who used to be a part of my community and who played a part in my everyday life.

I think we would all like that again Bobby, but them days are gone my friend. You can blame druggies and all the violence that we see on the news daily for the utility belt toys, sign of the times, it will be guns next but hey ho lets get back to this graffiti, as this really needs sorting and quickly.

Noticed today that there is a vehicle counter across the road by the Belmont Road bridge. Also where the Oval service road joins Goodrich Grove there is a new CCTV camera positioned next to the lampost looking over the Belmont Road junction and pointing across to McDonalds. Wasn't there last week was it?

Uncomfortable for who? I have no problem with any European coming to live in the UK, after all, we are all members of the EU are we not? I think the problem is that we are at capacity as a country and we have to close the doors until such times as these numbers begin to decrease.

I lived in Germany for a number of years and there were similar issues there with British people and forces personnel. I remember reading a sign saying a very similar thing and some that said a lot worse, so please do not be naive to think that this sort of thing only happens here. It should NOT happen at all, why can't everybody just live together and get on?

I hate sad racists, obviously they have nothing better to do...I wonder if any of this activity has been caught on CCTV? How embarrassing for the Police when this sort of thing is happening within a few metres of a Police station and right under their noses.

Another nighmare today all day on the Belmont Road

Hello to all

 

I am new to forum and perhaps not fully understanding what is being suggested.

 

As i remember it prior to the traffic lights it was very difficult gaining accesss to the roundabout from the A465 because of the volume of traffic with right of way from the A49.

Ken, welcome to the forums it's good to have you with us. Yes there was an issue some years ago about higher volumes of traffic coming from the A49 but since then Hereford council or the Highways Agency have made the junction a complete and utter mess. But I have experiennced and much better flow of traffic on the occasion when these traffic lights have been out of order and Colin's picture only prove this point. I think you are referring back many years ago when this junction was just a roundabout, I think it has changed a lot since then in fairness nevertheless a vaild point.

It's still there 7 months later! 

Update, I too reported many of the posts that are a potential hazard even including photos of these with the exact location.

 

Chasing up the outstanding works Amey intially claimed they had completed the works as previously reported by both myself and Councillor Powell. I have now taken Amey to task through Councillor Graham Powell - Cabinet Member for Education and infrastructure over not only the lack of actioning our reports / no feedback or timescales for completion,

 

There is also the claims work has been completed when in fact is has not and in many instances not we are also on many occasions never even giving a works order number to help us follow these up. So we have to then duplicate work.

 

I have to remind Amey that they are accountable to all our Council Tax Payers including the Councillors who pay thier salaries.

 

Also many job requests also get lost in their reporting system which ironically always seems to be the difficult to do ones.

 

If you do have any issues then please either post on the FORUM (pun not intended) or email myself with the details ie:- date of report / location and issue and I will find out where it is in the process of works.

Yes Adrian a lot of items reported here have not been completed, dead posts being one of them. Larger keep clear signs on the Tesco roundabout have been promised and again nothing had been done about that either.

Good write up in the paper Colin and yes I completely agree with you. This town is becoming a ghost town
