  1. I am confused as we are told that we cannot put plastic lids in the recycle bins but its plastic? and also not allowed to put polythene bags either yet I noticed that a lot of people still use the polythene bags when their bins are full and the bin men take these and throw them onto the recycle refuse truck?

  2. I attended the Belmont PACT meeting tonight and mentioned the GWW, I made a request for trees/bushes to be cut back, upgrade of lights and more of them in this area.

I also requested the trees in Muir Close to be cut, also trees along Waterfield Road and Carwardine Green in Newton Farm. By reporting this at the PACT meeting they must respone to my request.

    Thank you

  3. I fully agree with Colin's reply above. He has explained it perfectly, nobody can be blamed here that's just a load of rubbish and is just an escape goat on behalf of BR.

If other councillors choose not to join the site, then that can only be down to them, what do they fear? as someone has already said, are these elected councillors not professional then? they refuse to join because they possibly object to another councillor being on here? how pathetic and child like! They should rise above all of that and contribute in helping out, answering questions where they can, giving information to their constituents and not worrying about someone else.

Quite happy to canvas for our votes though and they will be sniffing around come next May, of that I am sure.

This site could be very useful to them, I am finding it very useful myself.

Roger it seems that you have some other issues with Cllr Powell as you are constantly moaning about her. To be fair to her she has tried very hard to help and advise on here and I appreciate that.

  4.

The site is a good, a little complicated, but it has been taken over by Glenda Powell, she allowed Cllr Schoffer and Cllr Edwards to be slagged especially as Mavis Edwards was dieing. Most of the entries are by Glenda Powell, and you could say she has taken over with her friends.

With respect, Cllr Powell did not allow other councillors to be slagged off they have allowed it to happen as they have not registered in order to put across their point, with regard to Mr Edwards wife passing away, a legit question was raised and as soon as it was aware that Mrs Edwards was seriously ill, that whole topic was removed by the admin.

It is clear now who runs the site and may it long continue to grow as Roger Edwards has said this is a good site, so lets hope we can continue with all the councillors and not just the select few, we and they all have points to raise but if all contribute then there will be clear and accurate statements.

  5. I would think that the only reason other Councillors do not join this website, when Mavis Edwards was dying she and Cllr Edwards were being slagged off, Cllr Schoffer was slagged off, so I would think it be a good reason for Councillors not to joining this website. The other reason is that Glenda Powell is on hear.

Actually, they were not being slagged off, a member questioned payments made to M. Edwards, unfortunately Mrs Edwards suddenly passed away, the admin removed the post and left a rather nice condolence message out of respect if i remember.

It is clear that some councillors may have issues with other councillors but as Colin James has already stated, are they not professionals? imagine if we all refrained from doing our duty because of disagreements within office, how pathetic.

Nobody is perfect but in Cllr Powell's defence, she helps out on here on a regular basis which is more than can be said for the other voted councillors! I agree with the above comments "its a poor show" but the ballot box is our friend eh

  6. A number of day tickets, so do we have to pay then to fish in our pool? I am not trying to be awkward here, but if the fisherman have formed some sort of committee they will then think they run the pool, surely this belongs to the group that bought it, not sure that letting the fisherman do this is a great idea.

I could form a committee for all the walkers that visit the pool, so would we have as much say in what goes on or are we just offering favouritism to the fishermen?

I for one was not aware that any meeting took place, who attended?

  7. I am far from perfect, but my response was a sarcastic one as you were the one who started the personal insults by saying I should engage brain before you speak.

I still stand by my original post that I believe there was some discrimination, maybe it was in the tone of the remarks.

We will have to agree to disagree I'm afraid, but nevertheless the point being that there is raw sewage contaminating the pools and it needs rectifying as a matter of urgency.

Councillor Schoffer has already pointed out that this is a health hazard.

  8. You can agree to disagree, but this is from the dictionary;

    dis·crim·i·na·tion

       /dɪˌskrɪməˈneɪʃən/ Show Spelled[dih-skrim-uh-ney-shuhn] Show IPA

    –noun

    1.

an act or instance of discriminating.

    2.

treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.

    ra·cial·ism (rÄÂ'shÉ™-lÄz'É™m)n.

1.An emphasis on race or racial considerations, as in determining policy or interpreting events.

2.Policy or practice based on racial considerations.

    Chiefly British Variant of racism.

    ra'cial·ist adj. & n. , ra'cial·is'tic adj.

  9. Victor Wright and admin I am afraid you are talking a load of old ribbush.

I blaim admin for not reading what they published, if now they consider that the comment of Mark Schoffer was anti recialist then he should have not published it.

The comment our Eastern European Friends is politically correct, had he named a race then it could be construded as raicialist. You only have to listen to BBC news and they use western Europeans Eastern Europeans, Americans and Aisians. Because no country is selected the above statement was politically correct. I do understand that the comment made about those people eating the fish they catch is the truth, if you don’t believe me ask any fisherman.

2, Victor I am afraid you have not read:-

    a. RACE RELATIONS (AMENDMENT) ACT 2000

    b. The Race Relations Act 1976 (Statutory Duties) order 2001

    c. Equality Act 2006©

All found on the government site, http://www.opsi.gov.uk

So please read, digest, engage brain before you speak.

It is the manner in which the discrimination was written and also this

English fishermen who have fished these pools for years do not eat the fish they put them back in the water.
suggesting English fisherman are somewhat different?
had he named a race then it could be construded as raicialist
does the above remark not qualify then?

Your wrong sorry but you are, anyone can see just by reading this that "Our Eastern European Friends and the term English" suggests that this group of people are different fisherman? I know a couple of local fisherman and they have often taken fish home to eat too.

    Racism involves social boundary

demarcation, and a hierarchical ordering of

    human beings according to phenotypical

    difference, creating an “us†and a “themâ€Â.

Racism also involves the conflation of

    physical difference with cultural difference,

    and with certain cultural characteristics.

May I suggest you read this "Racialisation of central and east European migrants in Herefordshire" I have attached the pdf for you to engage your brain and read it, once your brain is fully engaged try learning to spell correctly too. (Mr Politically Incorrect)

    mwp53.pdf

While you are at it have a read of this article, his thoughts were along the same lines as yours funny enough, politically correct!

    Politically incorrect article

  10. Victor - you are wrong on both counts.

    1. Members of my family have married people who were not born here and they are not treated any differently by me to the rest of my family, therefore I would not use any coments that would upset them, as I said you don't know me so don't judge me.

How can you say that? BOTH comments are discriminating!!!!! yours and Mark Schoffer that is without question, I am not going to get into an argument with you, but I would like to make you aware that I was a senior committee member of the Race Equality Foundation until 2007 so I think that qualifies me to decide if someone's comments are in a racist manner or not.

you can find our website here

I am sure that it was done in all innocence, nevertheless remarks were made that were uncalled-for. Because you have family members from other countries does not discount your initial remarks in any way so rather than your attack or poor attempt to justify it, an apology would of been more appropriate perhaps from both parties, then we could of simply moved on.

With regard to your second point, I apologise for being mistaken. I did not realise the pools were owned by a group of organisations, needless to say I still refer to my comments, now reworded "These pools are the shared responsibility of the group of owners and the sewage issue as well as the rubbish there needs immediate attention in my opinion"

  11. I am not racist and treat ALL my constituents equally

Councillor you may not be racist but your comments are including those of councillor Mark Schoffer I'm afraid.

These pools are the responsibility of the parish council and the sewage issue as well as the rubbish there needs immediate attention in my opinion.

  12.

The garden rubbish has been removed from Belmont Pool, but the tiers are still there but now joined by toilet systern.

I was wondering who will remove the tiers and the toilet systern, it look as if Amey have removed the garden rubbish, but are the tiers are too difficult?

Cllr Edwards says how wonderful he is, but has done nothing yet to clear up the rubbish.

Well how difficult is to remove a few tyres? for Pete's sake surely it can't be that hard, or do the council need to have a meeting about it first? According to previous posts Amey were going there last week and what?

  13. They were there this morning, but having just taken a walk along the path between Hunderton bridge and the Belmont road bridge, they have clearly missed quite a lot of rubbish, this is frustrating as they were there with all the kit, if you going to do a job then at least do it right. :Hmm:
