  1. What evidence you have to back up that rather bizarre statement? That's the sort of thing we need to stop! Rumours and personal beliefs, the police need facts!

I agree with Steve, bit of an odd thing to say. When there is a local crime in Hereford I do get fed up of hearing that its some foreigner who did it, when a lot of the time its actually the local druggie or another local person in the end. Surprised you wrote that DILLGAF, your comments were good up until that point.

  2. I see there has been yet another assault on the railway lines overnight. From the HT:

POLICE are investigating reports of an assault on the Great Western Way.

Officers were called at 12.36am this morning to reports of an assault on the river bridge.

A 29-year-old man sustained minor injuries to his lower abdomen during the attack.

His injuries have been treated at A&E at Hereford County Hospital and he has been discharged and is now back at home.

All paths up to the bridge are closed off with police tape and officers are carrying out door to door enquiries in Hunderton.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
  3. My home village - you also have 2 churches very close together.  This came about because 2 sisters had a little fall out and the one said I vow to build a church before you can turn a stone.  Hence Vowchurch and Turnastone.

Sounds like the Twix advert Denise ha ha.  Love this story about the fuel station there, how wonderful, if you could grab some additional photographs that would really be good.

  4. This was in the new today ...

    _84821730_milkbottles.jpg

    BBC

Morrisons are creating a new label (as pictured above) that will sit in the same milk chiller as the cheaper identical product. 10 pence per litre extra will go direct to farmers which means their current 89 p four pint bottle of milk would cost £1.12.

It's probably quite a savvy marketing trick. It will cost virtually nothing to implement (as opposed to their expensive sponsorship of Ant + Dec TV) and will gather positive comments. And it will guarantee the people doing the milk clearance stunts will take them off their radar.

They obviously had the option of putting all their 4 pint bottles at £1.12, and I can't imagine people would moan too much, but they have chosen not to do so ...

    Very clever

  5. HT has updated this.

The police say that at this time, there is no motive and no suspect.

His family and friends must be struggling to comprehend this senseless and brutal attack. My heart goes out to them.

(Victor, I don't think speculating about possible related issues  is particularly helpful, or appropriate, given the tragic circumstances. Post 12.)

This is what I am being told here locally, this by no means condones this horrific murder. He is a young father, nobody deserves to be murdered and I hope they catch this person soon.

  6. Imagine my anger when I discovered that neither the Leader of Council or Leader of the Independents knew who 2together NHS Foundation Trust are! I am only just calming down now. The Council works closely with its NHS partners yet the key providers of care for those with mental health were unknown to some of our leading councillors.

It's a disgrace, deplorable and the health and social care professionals I have spoken to since Thursday when I discovered these people did not know of this, are equally surprised and annoyed!

I talked to one or two senior councillors after the meeting of Council on Friday who also seemed unaware! God help us that we have some ignorant people running the Council. Dazza I am going to need your advise now I am on the Health Scrutiny Committee. We may need to meet for a drink some time.

Thinking about I do't think I have calmed down yet, better get a whiskey!

Don't have too many Chris ha ha

  7. This is a very important debate Martin, so I have added a Poll, hope thats okay with you?

Well personally I think it would be a mistake to leave the EU, that said, I do think we need to take more control of our own laws and I also think the Human Rights Act needs updating big time!

I agree and I think leaving the eu would be an economic disaster.

  8. I rest my case.

And at this point in the proceedings, might I suggest that we stop picking at the scab, and allow a little healing to take place?

In the nicest possible way..... let's all shut up!

Can I assume you mean Phil Smart and WirralPC too or is it okay for them to just carry on?

  9. Well I fore one am sorry to see Wirral PC has left the building I think he may not be everyone's cup of tea but hey ho not everyone is going to be like by everyone who they meet?…not even Gary Barlow?!

I think we have failed ourselves in this thread it's easy kicking a man while he is no longer around to defend his honour so it's nice to see a lot of people coming out of the woodwork to express there disdain for a man who's only crime was to have his own free will & opinions so are we not also guilty of bullying also???…how many of us have a unblemished mark against our names never having done any wrong whiter than white?…but feel free to cast your stones if you will?!

all because we fail to understand mr Cardin & what he stands for maybe he was testing us @ the end of the day? & really the joke is on us for our ignorance & petty small mindfulness!!

He has not been banned, so he is completely free to reply, but I do find it amusing you use the terminology his only crime was to have his own free will and opinion so are we not also guilty of bullying? No!! I do not go around intimidating and verbally abusing other members because their view happens to be different to mine, I do not care how you choose to dress it up, he bullied other members who either disagreed with him or voted conservative with his onlsoght of vile verbal attacks.  I agree entirely with what M Preece wrote is their last reply above -

I just looked up the word bullying on this urban dictionary = The worst way to make someone feel awful about themselves. Putting others down so you feel better about yourself

  10. I am very surprised indeed that other independents did not complain about Phil Edwards standing against another established councillor/candidate, this was obviously to boost his overzealous ego, I think its actually very damaging for the independents. Glenda I would suggest that you consider standing for IOC next time perhaps..

Yes I agree, unbelievable that someone can be so selfish and not see the bigger picture for the party, once he had finished celebrating and looks in the mirror I am sure he may regret what is looking back at him in time, it is quite shameful really.
