  1. "Colin mentioned to me and Mick at the get together meeting that was held at the victory pub that he was aware that there were members using alias's on hv and he was looking into it it" Well this is not quite how Colin introduced this so as I use an alias I'm in this camp! If Colin requires a CRB check well I can throw three or four of these plus a few passports. I'm no Jason Bourne but there are times when an alias is preferred.
  2. Thanks Tracy, I have collected my green refuse bags, new bus timetable for £1, leaflets regarding the mini bus link scheme and Herefordshire Health Watch...and no parking! So dutifully signed the petition forms hanging on bookcase outside. All this based on a small diversion off the A49 via Callow ..result.
  3. Don't worry about this Luke. It's actually becoming quite amusing because the most popular contributors have now pretty much pleaded their innocence. ...we are starting to run out of members
  4. Sadly it was quite a small turnout. I arrived around 16.15 and to be honest it was winding down.Councillor Chappell was present and it would be good to gauge his opinion. Those members of the public that I spoke to shared my concerns about the resources available to the Police to carry through Hate Crime reporting to successful prosecutions.
  5. Agreed Cambo, the old lad has been around long enough to know how it works.
  6. He has always stuck by his principles which I commend Luke but he will be aware that some adjustment maybe required if he is to remain as Captain. I'm not so sure about the idea of withdrawing from NATO but renationalisation of the railways and energy companies ...well that appeals as does greater taxation for those can afford. Great first thread Luke and apologies for late reply only I've been in Southampton today which sadly meant I missed the big clean up.
  7. Let's hope so George because the nightclub business isn't what it used to be..but then it's often about whose running them on the dance floor so to speak! Good Luck Dan.
  8. I'm not so sure Denise but we will wait and see.
  9. So there you go we welcome a new member to the forum and mark him down because he has an opinion which perhaps is not in line with the general consensus. I have corrected this because this is supposed to be an open site and wanting new voices. Please don't be dissuaded Luke...welcome.
  10. Roger please mate, The "Soup" as you call it consists mainly of people that have come to work on farms in Herefordshire as you well know! Said farms owned and managed by entrepreneurial Herefordians see better profit margins as a result. Now of course should local young people choose to work the land as a career then that might have cast a different flavour within the fields of plenty perhaps more acceptable to the pallet of rural English types! Of course there is nothing stopping some of our older generations working the land perhaps fortunate early retirees running a full pension in the early fifties!
  11. Thanks Glenda,I understand that the Belmont Library is open for a few hours on a Saturday.
  12. Only if he gets into government Roger and that's a long way off and as for the shadow front bench ..well they can go back to their constituents and see what they think after all it would not be the first time that an MP has changed their point of view. Let's not forget many are supposed to represent their voters however far more are seeking personal objectives.
  13. So for good or bad he,s in,so one way or the other it's going to stir things up. I personally became bored with three men in suits all looking the same with just the appropriate colour tie for differentiation and let's be honest I would love for him to turn up in brown socks and sandels! He maybe a dinosaur but which one...will he have teeth? I know that dinosaurs died out but that was due to third party intervention a fete that could await all of us. It looks like as a country we have lost interest in centre ground politics it's either left or right, alkaline or acidic neither ultimately good for democracy so here we go ..let's see what happens.
  14. I'm glad you brought this up Colin because at the moment whilst the Library is closed in Hereford there is no weekend access to green bags!
  15. I saw this Steve and it saddens me after all just 10 families. As the Conservative crew report back to HQ about the underlying feeling of its constituents in our shires it's a sure thing that our time in the EU is coming to an end after all this Government depends upon its rural associations....and these predominantly white ...sorry I should not have said that.(not been to the meeting yet). They are saying no unless of course they can be used as cheap labour. My job has always meant that I cannot differentiate between race, colour, religion or creed everyone treated the same even the drunk idiot that turns up on your doorstep every bloody night stealing ya precious resources. We are a democracy but sadly it's our fear of losing said democracy that is reverting us back to a time long ago, throwing away much of what this country has achieved. I do understand the fear after all we are more likely to absorb the TV images first rather than listen to the reporters piece and as my wife observed..." why are they mainly men, where are the women and children". This household would assist a family but a community group of twenty men pitched up in a shack down the road well my wife would not be comfortable about it and nor would I. I want to go to this meeting to understand how the authorities intend to sell the concept because at the moment all I can see is 'selective reporting'. As you said Steve this is an opinion a point of view and its mine.
  16. By the way I see that our government wants to negotiate an opt out clause for the EU Working time directive.
  17. I noticed in the HT that the First Bus depot is on the market with all options open!
  18. Tyco have had accounting issues before which saw them broken up.(Tyco Healthcare) springs to mind. Thanks Martin
  19. Agreed H but I worry that should hate crimes be reported how confident the authorities will be of pursuing successful prosecutions and demonstrating such. For this reason I hope to attend this event.
  20. It is better than an empty building. Running a business is a risk and this group must believe there's mileage in adding to the growing list of eating places. I see this as a better risk than nightclubs which nationally are closing in big numbers. I wish them well.
