  1. I have got a bank account and have had one since before I left school, but I still prefer cash. Some people can not get a bank account that gives out debit cards. Other people just prefer to use cash, it is still legal tender, so people have that right, My Dad for instance never use his card, my sister gets money out for him every week and he uses that. It is pretty difficult to go around Hereford everyday, every week unless you only use the larger shops with out cash , unless you do not have chips from a chippy or get a coffee from coffee cart, even a lot of taxis do not take cards. All the big stores take cards, but some smaller ones still don't. With cash I know how much I am spending and not giving into the large card suppliers, Visa and Barcly card to spend more and make them more money. I did laugh when I read the HT article about the reason the ATMS was refused, blot on the landscape type of thing. Really? The whole old Market is a blot on the landscape, certainly when you look at the back from Edgar street with all that wood. The front is not nice either, who ever designed the old Market should give up,
  2. Never go by ip addresses, there are so many different ways to access the net now that the Ip address could be completely different. Tablets can be tethered to mobile phones, some even got sims in them. Most peoples Ip addreses change anyway as most providers in this country uses dynamic addresses. I do agree with other people on here that this should have been sorted behind closed doors as to speak and not put into the open, never known it to happen on other forums.
  3. Cash machine by the butter market, not sure if I trust it mind you, looks a bit iffy and who do you complain to if it goes wrong?
  4. I think they do a good job as well, but it would be nice if it was done to make the city look nice and not some competition. Herefordshire council have no interest, come to think of it they have little interest in anything unless it brings them money
  5. So do anyone know that the City won gold, do anyone care? There was a small piece in the Hereford times, a larger piece about someone losing weight To be honest I am not sure what to think about this Britain in bloom stuff, I like the way the city centre looks, but could we not do this anyway without pampering to some organisation that very few people know anything about?
  6. Some people prefer to pay by cash, I do for a start. Also some people do not have a debit card, I know they are very few and far between, but there are still some that only have a cash card. I am with Jango1969 in that the shops there are not really what I would use or the restaurants for that matter.
  7. Far too left wing for me to be honest, so even if I voted Labour before, I would not do again with him in charge, waste of time in Hereford anyway.
  8. We don't look after our own, so bringing more people here is not the best idea. Where our own people have been waiting for years to get a flat and our Hospital is creaking. Also, are these people going to live by our rules and laws? We already got ones here that want to change our laws to their religion and culture. Watching the way some of them been acting, do we really want then here? I do not mind helping anyone, but lets get our priorities right first.
  9. It will take years to do anyway, they taking long enough to paint some double yellows outside the co-op, something that should have been done years ago. How on earth no one have been hurt there I don't know.
  10. I always tie my bags, I watched as one of them went past my place and she just looked at my bags, but did not untie them. I had three bags, but then I have been doing a lot of sorting out and one of those bags had a old washing basket in as well as some other stuff. It was in the other street that the bloke opened the bin, but since most people even with bins stick their rubbish in bags, they would have to untie the bags to know what is in them. I did also have two green bags out as well, I think they would work out if I put that in black bags what it is :), putting a little bit in the black bag is ok, but not two bags full I did end up with four black bags as my neighbour put one of hers out by my place, I do not mind that. I did notice on the way to work, houses with more than four bags or a bin and extra bags, noticed on way home that the extra have not been collected. So it seems they are getting tough on the extra bags now. Normally I can use one bag for a fortnights rubbish, but as I said, I am sorting rubbish out, so it will be more over the next couple of months.
  11. Today was bin day, black bin day, I was going to work this morning and noticed a couple of people walking around with pen and paper talking notes, I noticed one of them looked in a black bin, so it was certainly council. i thought they had no money and yet can pay people to go around looking at bins. i have no idea what they was looking for.
  12. Seems like Barbers and hair dressers are doing well with a fair few in Hereford and a couple opening up. I use Barber-ellas, they do a decent job for a Ok price. But good luck to your Friend.
  13. No problem, I always thought river Island was for Women, even when it was in the city centre. I think I will stick to online. Still staying clear of old Market. As for Jack Wills, not only expensive, but for skinny people as well. I am not looking for cheap, just good value, Primark is sometimes a bit too cheap and their clothes can be a bit naff, I have no idea about Asda, another place I been into about 3 times since it opened, I should I suppose look at what the place I work at offers to be honest.
  14. i heard there was a Jack wills going there, I do not know if it have opened yet, to be honest, I do not really know what is there now. Steamer cookshop? I thought I would go and look on their website, they are another Lakeland price wise, flipping expensive. and they will have to compete with lakeland. A 12CM saucepan £22, that is a lot of money for one saucepan. Why is it that we have expensive shops in Hereford? Hello this is a city where wages are naff, we are not London or any of the other big cities.
  15. That's the one, We need more shops for men clothing at a decent price, that Jack wills that is suppose to be opening in the old Market will set you back a good £60 or so for a pair of jeans and then you need to be a skinny 36inch waist to get in to them.
  16. I never noticed that, but then I was on the bus when I went past it.
  17. It says Utopia on the sign and womens clothing, it is going in the corner shop facing the main part of Maylords. I can not remember what it used to be. Where is Jack Jones going?
  18. I have no idea why the L changed to I :) We have had these new lights for a few weeks now, I certainly do not like them, not enough light and they seem to light up the road more than the path.
  19. Good idea, but I can not see it working, look at when there is a football match on and the amount of cars that park in kingsway then. The acess only rule will go out of the door, then you got the co-op, people uses kingsway to get to that. We have still heard nothing about the double yellows by the Co-op, the sooner that happens the better
  20. At least someone is doing something I suppose, but it depends if people want it a lot of people are not interested in community stuff. There have been a couple of attempts to set one up on the College Est. over the years, but it have come to nothing. To be honest I am one of those ones that not that bothered about them, they normally seems to have a few people at the head of them, that wants to poke their nose into everyone business or you get a few that click together.
  21. A new shop opening in Maylords, but another clothes shop and another one for Women.
  22. I wonder who owns it now? I have not used Mr Chips for years, the last time I tried them they was awful and also it is a bit out of the way for me.
