Well in fairness most teams charter their own flights but if your weight is in proportion to your height and is within a fair limit then there would be no issue. I would actually expect a 7ft guy to be a lot heavier than a 5'8 guy. I am confused with your argument about about only being allowed to have the same weight luggage as anyone else? I can take more weight than other people as long as I am happy to pay for the extra weight? What is your point? On your final point of course the airline has factored in extra fuel for larger people but who is ultimately paying for that extra fuel for those larger folk? I don't know what else the applicant can say to promote the licensing objectives that are thrown in any applicants face. He is not serving alcohol, no 'children' will be out at the extended hours he want's to trade at and he has got cameras lined up and a litter pick outside the shop with sufficient bins'. 

 

The issues I might have are that if you need SIA guards at a chip shop (which he is proposing at relevant times) then you are anticipating trouble. Is he? Or is he just writing the right words to get the extended hours? 

 

I'd like to know the radius of his litter pick proposals. Is it outside his front door? The Baptist Church next door? Commercial Street? Barrs Court Road? As that is exactly where the chip trays end up! As we all know! 

It looks like they have ticked all the right boxes. With regard to the litter pick then surely they can only be responsible for the area immediately surrounding the chippy, if someone walks home across bars court road and decides to just throw the litter in the street I fail to see how this chippy is to blame, that has to come down to the irresponsible person committing the crime and not the chippy, if thats the case then Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's should pay to dredge the river in order to retrieve there discarded trolleys. Getting back to the topic I am looking forward to the outcome of this application, personally, I see no real cause for objection, they seem to have done their homework.

I have witnessed many times people being told that you have 3kg too much weight in this bag, so you now need to take that out and place it in the other bag, which can all be very humiliating. It does not matter that the next person in the queue could be 10 stones heavier than you as long as their bag is not overweight then thats fine. The airline have to increase the amount of fuel they load according to the weight that they carry.

I still believe the hooper buses were better, they were smaller but had more routes and more frequently too if I remember. Hope that is the long term plan if they are really coming back into service.

Phil Edwards,  is not liked by a lot of people on NF, and he only got in by lying and those lies are catching up with him already. I am getting people asking me for my help every day but I have told them they voted him in so they have to contact him.There are no sour grapes in regard to Phil Edwards so there is nothing to get over, infact I feel sorry for him, the people of NF will give him a hard time, the ward is not an easy one. no one is congratulating a Mark Sykes the councillor  name is MARK DYKES!

Paul Neades, just for clarification I did not cause the city council to waste money, as IOC are the administration of the city council they could of co-opted someone on SO WHY DIDN'T THEY! Personally 4 years of working with IOC was 4 years to long, there were others who didn't stand for the city who felt the same way. and as a matter of interest it was the TORIES WHO CALLED THE ELECTION. That sais, I will be watching and waiting to see if Mark keeps to his promises for the people of Newton Farm that was in his paperwork.

 

Only 11.6% of the 1500 people who could of voted did, the combined votes cast was 338 the people of Newton Farm have spoken by not voting!

Aww Glenda, your were elected and for whatever reason a new election has had to take place at least your could congratulate the new elected councillor.

Roger, the 1500 I was referring to was the number of properties on Newton Farm therefore with a possibility of 2 people per household it is 2900 as you stated. A lot of people contacted me and ask me who to vote for, I told them that was their decision not mine, as I could not or would not tell them who to vote for.Unfortunately the 11.6% of people voting shows that the people of Newton Farm are not happy, and tell me they haven't been since the elections in May.

Sour grapes, its obvious and no matter what happens good or bad you always take every opportunity to have a dig at Phil Edwards, get over him!

I agree the people are not interested, everyone was sure the election in May would be different, and were shocked that the Tories had a majority, but no one else is to blame but the people who voted for them. I keep in touch with my council colleages and they with me although I am not there anymore, and what I am hearing things have got worse since May so in a way I am glad I am not part of it anymore, but I do miss helping the people of Newton Farm.

If you really cared about the people of NF we would not be congratulating Mark Sykes today.

I recon it will close. I have lived in Belmont now for 20 odd years, and have never been there. I don't know any of my friends that actually use the library. In days of old when computers were expensive, libraries were useful. But now with most people with computers all the information is there in seconds, at your fingertips.

With your hands on your heart, when did you last use the library? Ah! you may have gone in to get some green bags.

I think this is where Hereford Council could save some money and close the library.

If I want a book I buy them from a charity shop, and when I finish with the book I give it back to the charity shop.

Yes as sad as it is to read you are correct, I have never used the library I can find everything I need online. Even my mrs who is a big bookworm downloads eBooks these days. I would prefer to have the money spent installing additional CCTV camera's along the old railway lines.

Whilst CCTV and better lighting may be a good idea I wonder how much of the natural vegetation would have to be removed for it all to work efficiently.

I do not think that everywhere the public go can be covered by CCTV

I don't believe that the CCTV is monitored so it would be a case of watching the tapes after the event. In this case the police appear to have caught the culprit anyway

A friends brother works in the CCTV room in Hereford and I can confirm that these camera's are indeed monitored, maybe not constantly but they do flick between the various locations and monitor the cameras along with other people and they are always in touch with the police to report incidents etc. so having CCTV camera's along the entire length on the GWW is vey much needed in my opinion. HD CCTV with infrared technology is the best option. 

This is topic about something terrible that has happened in our community, of course it should be discussed on HV. The police get a lot of information from social media, so I see nothing wrong with his being discussed on this forum in all honesty.

Absolutely this needed to be reported and discussed on HV, the last murders in Hereford were, this one is no different, in fact, the unfortunate victim is local to us and part of our community. I hope they have the culprit and Christians family at least have some sort of closure, then they can lay him to rest. A very difficult time for them.

Yes this is a real loss, especially for us curry and Indian lovers, last day tomorrow and I will be there.

Detest these income generating vans but the law is the law. Its just so easy to exceed the limits on certain roads though.

 

There is a Facebook page which people use to log where they have seen vans/radar guns in the county - quite useful.

I never did appreciate his views, I felt he bullied members himself with his abuse, if you did not agree with him, can't be doing with people like that, everyone is entitled to have their opinion without having to be subjected to a whole load of abuse.
