That lot needs clearing up, I feel sorry for the neighbours

I am not entirely sure what the law says bout illegal workers in the UK but I would imagine the restaurant owner will now face a very hefty fine and I expect these people to be deported asap.

Angela Merkel is not as popular in Germany as she once was and polls suggests her party is recently losing votes. Of course economic migrants exist and like the members before me have already pointed out, this will not help the genuine people seeking asylum. What did they expect?

Great news. Long gone are my days of visiting "Hash Browns" cafe in Plymouth at 0430hrs for a greasy fry up to sober up! Just what Hereford needs.
Let's just hope that Tony is not jeopardised by some clowns scrapping on the meadows at 5am with chips in hand!
That'll be enough evidence to ensure his license is revoked, never mind the fact that they came to blows over their respective boyfriends anyway!
Thank you Tony for feeding us all, when nobody else will.
(Many many years ago it was only cllr Rone and his shed who done us proud at 3am!) :)
Yes and they closed his hot dog van down if my memory is good? I would grab a nice burger or hot dog on my way home during the early hours. Good on the Golden Galleon for submitting their application, I hope now others will follow.

Absolute result this is very good to hear.

They are all offline and you can only pay with cash.

Well there you go: statistically Glenda is clearly a mobility scooter magnet and has been a tad unlucky because I've never narrowly missed being mown down by a mobility scooter ever.
However, I did discover this morning that you don't even need to be riding your bike to be abused in High Town - just pushing it is enough.
On the logic that we're going to ban every activity that ever results in an accident, there should be no traffic anywhere.
My point was if it is okay for mobility scooters in town then why not bikes?

I will throw another issue in here. I witnessed someone on a mobility scooter running into the back of a guy outside Monsoon about a month ago. The man was rubbing his legs in pain. So it is okay to drive, in some cases quite fast using a mobility scooter as long as you are classed as 'disabled' then?

Pleased to hear and read the camera's are now up and running. Hopefully this will go someway into making people feel a little safer along here.

I agree too Roger, I have never known a shopping centre not to have ATM machines. Planning department pass some very odd things, yet on the other hand refuse simple things like this? It's beyond me.I disagree. A supposed new bespoke shopping centre without a basic cashpoint is a disgrace.

lol! I will sleep soundly tonight as I only have one account under my own name.
Interrogation of private messages sounds like it might be greeted with a couple of raised eyebrows but I ain't sent anything dodgy there either! I look forward to the Inquiry findings! Hopefully it will report back sooner than the Chilcot Inquiry! :-)
It is actually a "messenger" I notice, I cannot find anything that says it being private but I am sure the alias is a person who does not actually exisit, yes?

A step towards total closure I wonder?

Thats that party buggered then

I never realised that you could not place foil in the recycle bins, thanks for the heads up

I don't mind buskers but hate chuggers, I find it quite intimidating to be truthful. I have just read this article, strangely the image looks very familiar

I can't help but think that Hereford Voice has become the new HT. It is picking up on far more news worthy items than the HT but give HT a couple of days and they will have cribbed off HV.
I couldn't agree more Denise. Well done keep up the good work.

With regard to the Glass Tandoori, I can't see them allowing them to open until 0430 at best, I reckon they will allow them to stay open until 0300, which would be a result, however, I cannot see what difference another 90 minutes would make. We should know the outcome sometime next week from my understanding, so we will see.
I would imagine even if they were granted a licence to trade until 4.30am they would not be open everyday until that time, so don't really understand what the issue would be. Friday and Saturday they should be able to stay open until they want but I don't think 4.00am is an unreasonable request at this stage.

well I have now looked into this and my view is that we need more festivals, of different types.
This was primarily a music festival with tribute bands. The fun fair and other bits and pieces were a side line to entertain children and adults waiting for their favourite band to come on. £8.00 was a good price if you were staying there for the music. You pay more to hear one tribute band at other venues.
The Barrels charged £9.00 for entrance, well worth it but you would have to have spent lots more for beer or cider!
I am not sure why there was only 4 local cider producers there but that was the producers decision.
To hire the KGV meadows you have to go through property services who will decide on the provisions you need to provid for your festival. Balfour Beatty did the clearing up, safety etc and I have no problem with their work.
Does seem that many people enjoyed the festival. When it was put on in Swansea it rain and the field looked like a mud bath but hey, that is what all festival are about. We need things like this to happen in Hereford. I am not sure how much it costs to get into the Bromyard Festival but I think it was a similar price, HAY festival costs a bomb and Brecon Jazz Festival can be expensive,
Let's hope that other people want to provide entertainment for the masses, I do not want to have to keep going to the Cathedral or Shire Hall for my entertainment. In the 60s the City Council refused permission a for a band(pop group in those days) to perform in Hereford because of their long hair and permiscuous behaviour, which is why the Beatles and Stones never got to Herefordshire
Can't agree sorry Chris. There have been so many complaints. This was a poorly run festival that was way overpriced. It was advertised Herefordshire sausage and cider festival and quite frankly that was misleading for many people. When you looked into this, did you look into the same event they ran at Leicester? That had an equal amount of complaints too. Music may have been okay, but most live music is appreciated anyway. Crappy burgers and poor limited selection of code none of which was local.

Having now read all the comments there were obvously some good points but these were certainly outweighed by all the bad comments made.
I was going to go but unfortunately ended working the bank holiday.
My impression from the leaflet and advertising that I would have expected local producers to be there and for the cost of entry thought that samples would have been on offer so folks could try before they buy.
The prices of the burgers and saugsages certainly seemed to be SouthEast prices and given most folks in the County are on the below average wage I can fully understand the gripes being made.
What we want is an event that is value for money but also been searched before entering is a disgrace. Even the event I organise in Belmont we sell food but I would not expect people to be searched and not everyone can afford to even pay for a burger at £1.50, but over £4 well is a total rip off and I know folks at my event do sometimes bring their own picnics.
I do hope this Council reads the comments and learns from the lessons, I think even the river carnival event was free entry and the now food festival was free for which we would go to abd purchase goods from the local producers.
Basically it seems that folks felt they were well and truly ripped off.
This just seems to be a money spinning event for the organisers and also for Herefordshire Council!
Thank you for commenting Cllr, i think you have hit the nail on the head, people were expecting local produce, you could not even have a sample to try first of anything, unlike the ROTW festival which is very popular.

It's all part of the service.

I took my niece and nephew yesterday, what a rip off! I paid £8.50 for me and £7 each for my niece and nephew, not sure what the fee was for because then I had to pay for them to go onto the rides. Cider was £4 per pint and hot dog £5, spent over £50 in less than 2 hours! Lesson learned.

The meeting served its purpose by the sound of it. Good news is that cctv is being installed now over the next week or so.

I this day and age I think its inevitable and probably overdue.

This type of segregation will be very popular with certain sections of our vibrantly enriched multicultural nirvana. The creeping conversion of our nation continues apace...

Thanks for the info, it is surprising how many incidents there are, I was expecting a lot less. Good to see this update.
