    Duck Pond Day - 24th June 10am

Just a quick reminder folks only a week to go! We need as many volunteers to helps us as possible! Please as usual bring along a few black bags and some garden equipment, to trim bushes and generally tidy up areas of overgrowth. We will also finish painting the fence, so again the more people that join us next Sunday the sooner it will get finished. Looking forward to another great day

Parking in Hereford - frustrated visitors

I know this car park I went to park and could not work out the instructions at all. It read to me that it was a 24 hour park and you had to pay £6.00 (I think). Two other drivers were there and they could not understand it either. I went to the Woolworth's car park instead.

Parking in Hereford - frustrated visitors

I'm passing there in the morning so will take another pic. I like how them signs are some 10ft up in the air and very difficult to read.
  5. Thats very kind of you ragwert I appreciate it - unfortunately the notice in your photo isnt the one I am after, and isnt focussed enough to read from the photo - I need to find the instructions on how to pay which are not on a yellow notice but on the payment machine near the entrance, with its back to the street. The machine has a keypad to enter the car reg number into. John

Parking in Hereford - frustrated visitors

I'm close by so will take a picture for you.I'd avoid these NCP car parks on your next visit John.
  7. As a recent first time visitor to Hereford is there anyone out there who can lend a hand? On a very wet weekday recently I struggled, no doubt like many others, to find a parking place near the City centre. Eventually finding a (hugely expensive) space in the Little Berrington Street NCP park I was beaten by the confusing payment instructions and took my car away to a more remote place to park. Sadly NCP chose to issue me with a parking fine, or notice as they like to call it. I want to appeal the notice, but NCP now refuse to tell me what the payment instructions were on display on the payment/ticket machine which leaves me unable to argue my corner. I would go and take a photo myself but I live in London. I would love to visit Hereford again another time to explore its charms some more, but this experience has put me off! Is there any kind person who can send me a photo of the instructions on this particular NCP machine? In anticipation of your very kind support.
  8. But he's still getting paid quite handsomely for being number one head which if what you say is true pete,he needs to go because he's not fit for purpose & is not good value for money! your right there's no way they would agree to a public scrutiny of themselves because then they'd be found wanting as we all know that they would be…but that is exactly what I am aiming to do force them into agree to do one!…& as Blackadder would say I have a "cunning plan"which is already in motion to try to bring, about just that!
  9. Not really thought about that Denise…I'll see how this thread goes then maybe I might?
  10. McNeil's a busted flush, probably always has been. It's Geoff Hughes who really runs the Council. While I'd love to see him get the third degree off a pitchfork wielding lynchmob an independent scrutiny panel it ain't gonna happen. Local authorities don't do this type of transparency and I can't imagine Herefordshire with its embedded culture of secrecy, deals behind closed doors and brown envelopes, being a pioneer in that regard.
  11. Yes and also have you Cambo considered putting yourself up for election?
  12. Should the five heads of the LA…who are Alistair Neil,Stephen Vickers,Chris Baird,Geoff Hughes & Karen Wright face a totally independent scrutiny panel that is a panel made up of people who are not involved in the day to day running of the council? as I believe they should. Because for me,these five hide in the shadows…never ever face true scrutiny…are puppet masters of our elected councillors? as I would say they are behind the true policy making?…conjuring up decisions, orchestrate plans, deciding what building developments go where, advise & coerce our councillors into rubber stamping what is in effect there own desires with little or no regard to true public opinion…As at the end of the day it is us,who's daily lives are affect by the outcome of their actions…which can last years if not decades in some cases?!

Plans for new GP super surgery to go on display

Probably that the Council website wasn't working for this planning application at times last week? Also, if you dont know the link how would you know where to find it on the Council website? It has only been made easy for Hereford Voice readers because of the link kindly provided earlier in the post.

Plans for new GP super surgery to go on display

Views of this topic topped 1000 this weekend. Yet only 8 representations about this controversial planning application have so far been lodged, with less than a week to the closing date for submissions (14 June). What does this tell us about our apathy?
  25. Tesco Express in Ledbury Road are selling Unleaded and super unleaded for £1.21.9 and diesel and premium diesel at 1.25.9 until they run out. Fuel tanks are being replaced over a three week period from Monday 11th June.
  26. A pile of bikes have been seen under the old bridge possibly pulled out of the river. Police have been informed by don't seem to be interested.
