  1. Every little helps, as they say! Something is always better than nothing!
  2. They have put some parking restrictions I think, on one side of the road only. Cars were being parked both sides, making it difficult for buses to navigate, and sometimes blocking driveways, so that residents struggled to get in and out of their own properties.
  3. Welcome back Green Knight, I'm so pleased to read your thoughts again. You make some great points, and I'm sure that this is a discussion which will run for quite some time.
  4. Hi Ragwert, when did you hear that the A and E department had been closed?
  5. Potentially very scary. My thoughts are with the patient, and my thanks go to the medics and ambulance crews who are dealing with this situation. I don't know how they remain calm, and cope with this sort of thing.
  6. Update. Public Health England have confirmed that the clinic has been sealed as a patient presented with symptoms that were potentially extremely contagious. They are currently assessing the patient, before transporting them to hospital. They have not stated which hospital, or the potential cause of the contagious risk.
  7. Hello there Hereford man 75, and the very warmest of welcomes to you! I had the same thought as Ubique! Many on here, myself included, think East is the way forward. It is far more cost effective, would provide a second river crossing, and would link in with the rail plans for Rotherwas. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, it's great to get opinions from new posters!
  8. The same report states a patient is in "isolation." Which presumably means they are suspected of being highly infectious. I hope with all my heart this isn't what I fear it could be. Frightening times .
  9. According to The Hereford Times, the GP walk in clinic has been sealed off. There are no more details as yet. I don't know if this is coincidence or not, but there are a fair few helicopters in the sky at the moment.
  10. Hi Biomech, Parking up at the colleges for students is extremely limited. As you can imagine, the catchment area for students attending is pretty wide, and the area very rural, so many drive. I absolutely love what that have done with the college revamp, and am surprised that at the same time all of these works were taking place they didn't use the opportunity to try to improve the parking situation. I believe yellow lines have been added in quite a few of the streets in the neighbouring residential areas, but as has already been pointed out, this just shifts the problem. It would be great to perhaps have a college car park, designated for students with permits, a little further out, and perhaps encourage them to walk the rest of the way in.
  11. Bah Humbug! Miserable sods!
  12. Nice idea, Cambo........ But! Our roads and pavements are hardly in the best state of repair, just imagine the scenario for a poorly maintained ski lift system. It would be carnage!
  13. As always, Marc, thanks for the informative update. It's always good to hear that agencies are working together effectively.
  14. Blimey! 50 firearms have been handed in across Herefordshire! Only Shrewsbury had a higher number, with 53. Brilliant that these are out of circulation, and can be destroyed before they could fall into the wrong hands.
  15. Talking about cameras........what are those tall, pole things with what looks like cameras attached to them doing?? They have suddenly sprung up at the Wide marsh Gate traffic lights. I noticed them his morning whilst waiting for the lights to change by Costa at the new development. What are they all about?
  16. Thanks very much, Glenda for answering my question so promptly. It's much appreciated!
  17. Thanks for merging the threads, Colin! Much easier to read now!
  18. Precisely Two Wheels! Which makes me wonder, do they not understand, or do they just not care. Does Jesse Norman hold any sway over this? On this issue he does seem to grasp the facts and the logic.
  19. Hi Glenda, do you know what is happening regarding the proposal to rid ourselves of this cabinet system? It was bumped from the agenda in September, and I haven't heard anything about it since.
  20. Hi Megilleland! Most if not all of what I now know about regionalization, I have learnt from you my friend , - sometimes I wish I had remained blissfully ignorant, but because of your informative posts and links, I know so much more....and have even more cause for worry than I had before!!! The bags under my eyes have never been bigger!
  21. Thanks for that, Glenda. That seems rather an odd state of affairs - one Independent standing against another, who are the other candidates? And do you know when parties will release the names of who is standing in which wards?
  22. Good point, Denise. It would be easier to follow this, if this thread was merged with the original.
  23. Why would anyone do that, it makes no sense. Take the wheelie bin back, yet leave the sacks of THEIR rubbish on the pavement. Ridiculous. If I lived next to them, I'd knock on the door and have a polite word.
  24. Is this road REALLY the one Herefordians have talked about for forty years? Perhaps Cllr Price should widen the circle of folks he speaks to. Or takes advice from.
  25. And you know what they say, Two Wheels......if it smells like b.s, looks like b.s,and sounds like b.s chance are, it probably is.
