  1. Oh wow, that does seem a bit stupid, from both accounts - if you had a small clothes shop you wouldn't open up next to somewhere like a large H&M. I find the people in pet smart to be very friendly and helpful - so I won't be changing :)

So that'll be another one lost from the city centre then!

And, according to Ragwert although I'm still waiting confirmation / sources ;), Boots are opening in the OLM so I'd imagine Boots in town will be gone when that happens too.

As I was told Boots will be opening a store on the market site and the one in Town is staying.

  2. I'd like you to ask where these 28 road gangs who are filling and repairing roads are because they sure as hell ain't been in Hereford.
Two pictures of drain with pothole http://www.imagebam.com/image/e45240307623602
First picture was taken around 10th Jan.The day after it was reported after damaging a car tyre it was filled. It was reported again three weeks later and yesterday Balfour beatty sprayed a white line around it,today the white line has nearly gone washed away by the rain.Just goes to show the utter incompetence of people working for Balfour Beatty who don't have a clue how to repair and fill a pothole correctly.

  3. Bulls Chairman David Keyte put his signature to the new Edgar Street leases on Friday.

Keyte's signature comes after a lengthy and thorough process, spearheaded by non-executive Director Bob Pritchard.

Pritchard, who has over 40 years in the development industry confirmed that the leases were received by the club on Friday in the agreed form and that Chairman, David Keyte signed all 8 documents and the 5 statutory declarations with the documents being returned to the clubs solicitors in Birmingham in order to effect exchange and completion on Monday/Tuesday this week.

"This is a special moment in the history of the club in securing it's immediate future at Edgar Street for the next 30 years" said Pritchard "it also provides opportunities for development to be secured on the two ends of the ground, new stands to be built and with those, a 250 year long lease that will help secure the clubs long term future at Edgar Street."

Bob will now open negotiations with the existing telecoms operators who currently have equipment on the floodlight pylons, in order to relocate their equipment when development of either ends takes place.

  4. I recall you saying the SCOOT system was going to be updated as part of the pinch point works - I take it this hasn't been done then?

Yes.They even said after works were complete that there was a fault with the BT line connected to the SCOOT system and it would be sorted.

Guess they did not sort it out and have gone back to having the lights on a single timed sequence.

  5. If we've been paying £50k a year for something that hasn't worked for 10 years, then its excessively high!

I have sent an e-mail to ask that very question.I was at the lights again yesterday and they are still 9 seconds on green. With the SCOOT system every time on green should be different according to traffic levels. They are even on red when there are no vehicles going around it from the South.

  6.

Financial figures from September 2013 contracts register.

    Telent Traffic signal Maintenance
from 01/01/2010 to 31/03/2011 £32,000   Estimated whole contract value

    SCOOT traffic management system
from 01/01/2010 to 31/03/2012 £22,000   Estimated whole contract value

Both contracts appear to have expired over a year ago, maybe that's why the lights aren't working!

It's not worked for 10 years
